In late April LOGO TV and Pink is the new Blog asked for YOUR help in deciding which celebrity is Ruining Pop Culture in 2009 and that determination has been made. Altho the 2009 NewNowNext Awards were handed out in May, the show does not air until TONIGHT at 9PM ET on LOGO TV. It is my extreme pleasure to announce that the winner of Pink Is The New Blog’s Ruining Pop Culture Award, determined by YOUR votes, is … Miley Cyrus:
I have to say … I think y’all got it right!! Make sure you TUNE IN tonight at 9PM to watch the 2nd Annual NewNowNext Awards on LOGO TV see who else won awards this year. RuPaul plays host … it’s deffo a show you don’t want to miss!
Paris had some biz to take care of at MTV Studios yesterday so in place of her previous pet companion Doug Reinhardt, Hilton brought along her loyal pooch Tinkerbell. I mean … a dog is a dog right? While I’m still a bit dismayed that Pug Dilton failed to make their relationship work, I suppose I’ll get over it. True, Paris is now free to wreak havoc on the poor unsuspecting guys who continue to fall for her charms but, hey, I bet they’ll keep lining up.
Zac Efron was doin’ his thuggin’ best this week here in SoCal when he was spotted trying to exit his vehicle and still keep his pants on. For some reason, Zac really loves wearing his jeans hanging off his ass … which can be problematic when climbing out of a big SUV … behold:
Either he’s really proud of his Hanes undies or he’s just hopin’ to give his 13-year old fans a heart attack but one thing’s for sure, Zac is happy to let his ass hang out whenever humanly possible. I suppose we should … be thankful or something? Whatevs, I’m just lookin’ forward to the day when Zac miscalculates and those pants end up around his ankles. Hahahaha … now that’s the pic I want to see.
It is with a heavy heart and much sadness that I must report that my beloved Detroit Red Wings were unsuccessful in their bid to win the 2009 Stanley Cup. Altho Game 7 was played at the Joe Louis Arena in Detroit, MI, the Wings were unable to pull out the victory last night …
… that said, I am very proud of the Wings this year. They played an amazing season, provided countless hours of fun sports entertainment and did Detroit very proud, once again, this year. Congrats goes to the Pittsburgh Penguins on their win. If you are able to win Game 7 of the Stanley Cup Final at Joe Louis Arena in Detroit Rock City then you absolutely deserve the Stanley Cup. Props to my hockey buddy Dino for keeping me sane thru the finals this year. All of my love and respect goes out to the Wings, tho. I am very much looking forward to next season already.
And now that hockey season is over, I can focus my attention on the Los Angeles Lakers:
I’m not a big basketball fan but I have adopted the Lakers as my bball team since I’ve been living here in SoCal. Game 5 of the NBA Final takes place here in Orlando, FL tomorrow night … here’s hoping they can pull out the win and give me something sporty to celebrate ;)
David and I are seeing the sneak preview of The Proposal tonight. Altho the movie doesn’t open in theaters until next weekend, check the theaters in your town to find out which one is showing the movie tonight if you wanna see it early.
It turns out that Heidi Montag’s Playboy pictorial will show no real nudity.
Mary-Kate and Ashley Olsen are 23, Steve-O (Jackass) is 35, Rivers Cuomo of Weezer is 39 and Malcolm McDowell is 66 years old today. Click HERE to see who else is celebrating a birthday today.
Nine Inch Nails plays the Bonnaroo Music Festival today, the last show that NIN will play in the US on their 2009 Wave Goodbye Tour.
Here is this week’s batch of photos sent in by Pink is the new Blog readers — Billie sends in a picture of her niece Scarlett who was born on May 07, 2009 — Whitney Jo sends in a pic of her little pink princess Kylie celebrating her 1st birthday — Janice sends in a pic from her Gossip Girl-themed 23rd birthday party — Tamar sends in a pic of her sisters Elana & Erika celebrating their 25th birthday — Clara from Staten Island, NY sends in a pic of her first baby, a Boxer named Tyson, who celebrated his 17th birthday (which works out to be 119 human years!):
Happy Birthday to all of you!!! Much love and best wishes for many, many more happy birthdays to come!!!
It was my pleasure meeting you and Cole last week :) And again … thank you all for continuing to send in all of your amazing photos. Keep ‘em coming … I love them all!! xoxo
“He’s my best friend, and we still hang out all the time,” she said Friday on 107.5 The River’s Woody and Jim morning show in Nashville. “We’ve definitely reconnected. We don’t know what’s going to happen in the future, but right now we’re just kind of kicking it and hanging out as much as we can.” Cyrus split with Jonas at the end of 2007. She told Seventeen last year that she “bawled for a month straight” and dyed her hair black after calling it quits. The two — who sing a duet on the Jonas Brothers’ new song, “Before The Storm — have since patched things up. “We both just kind of saw each other and kind of decided this whole thing is kind of stupid,” Cyrus said. “We were all over the separation.” “I’m really happy to be back in their lives,” she went on. “And our families are super happy we’re hanging out again.” Jonas even took a trip to Georgia to visit Cyrus, who is now shooting the drama The Last Song. On Wednesday, they went jet-skiing near Tybee Island. “No comment,” she said when asked about the outing, though she did admit, “I am a jet ski demon!”
“I’ll let people think what they will,” she said. “I hope no one is upset at me for doing it. I think it’s lame for it to be such a big deal because … it’s just temporary. You can take it out.” What prompted the piercing? “I am a huge Kelly Clarkson fan,” she said. “And I loved when she had her nose pierced.”
Oh Miley … you’re just being Miley. I have to say that I think it’s very sweet that she has reconnected with her more age appropriate ex-boyfriend Nick Jonas. They just seem more suited for one another … mebbe they’ll make it work this time. As for poor Justin Gaston? Well … he’s been left home alone here in SoCal where he has been bizzying himself with posting You Tube videos here he proudly opines for “a very special someone”:
Awww … poor guy. But even still … you can’t live in the past. I’m sure you’ll find the right person for you, Justin … whoever that person may be.
