‘The Vampire Diaries’ Releases A New Trailer
"Dear Diary, today will be different ..."
Yesterday we got our first look at the new CW TV series adaption of the book series The Vampire Diaries and earlier today we saw photos of the principal stars partying it up with the other CW stars at their 2009 Upfronts afterparty. Right now, we get to check out the promo trailer for the TV series itself. The clip is chock full of angst, pretty boys and a vamped up Ian Somerhalder … here are a few screencaps from the trailer:
See … you can never have enough vampires. While folks are biding their time between The Twilight Saga movies hitting the theaters, they can sate their thirst (if you will) on eps of The Vampire Diaries on The CW. After the jump, check out this trailer in full and see what’s in store for yourself …
Hahahaha … it’s so emotional! I love the drama. And, having seen this trailer, I can totally see Ian Somerhalder pulling off the bad guy role. I like what I see … and I want to see more.

I kind of love it! I mean, he doesn’t really seem like the ideal vampire to me but they do seem pretty cool… I’m glad the main girl isn’t or doesn’t seem half as annoying like she was in Degrassi! I seriously couldn’t stand her character Mia. The music kind of songs like ‘Decode’ by Paramore, no? And why can’t they ever get the makeup right???
This looks good. Not as great as True Blood, but still a show I will watch.

man vampires are taking over the world! haha but, i’ll probably check it out seeing as most of the shows i watch are on the CW

I don’t think it looks interesting at all. It actually looks worse than Twilight… which is very sad.
Everytime a new vampire show comes around I mourn the loss of Buffy…le sigh.

I could only watch 1 min of this trailer, and eugh, it looks better than twatlight, the leading lady at least has personality and has her mouth closed but theirs something off about it.

Why is it when something comes out about Vampires, people automatically compare and critique it against Twilight? Yes, i read the book, saw the movie, and enjoyed it thoroughly. Twilight is not the end all of everything Vampire! Besides, ‘The Vampire Diaries’ came out way before Twilight. You just can’t have enough vampire stuff anyway, and i agree, i miss Buffy too!

Totally disagree The Dahlia Post, in regard to your comment about Twilight being a rip off and is just popular by chance.
The only similarities with these two books is that it’s stage is high school, which is the stage of billions of stories and that there are Vampires. There are a crap load of books with Vampires and these Vampires are COMPLETELY different.

Oh, CW! It’s a nice try. I have a feeling younger crowds are going to love this series in between their Twilight movies. So much angst, so many problems… “Why doesn’t anyone understand me?!” Love it. Personally, I won’t be watching, but it’s nice to know tweens everywhere will be swooning once a week at their tvs.
Okay, I’m kinda in love with this show already.

God I miss Buffy and Angel. I can’t believe it’s already been so long since it was on. Ugh… anyway… I might check this out. I agree that not every single vampire thing needs or should be compared to Twilight, it’s one story in a world of MANY stories about vampires and the supernatural. It just happens to be popular right now so people are kind of in a vampire craze. Personally, I enjoy my vampires darker and more sexually charged than anything Twilight offers…
