‘The Princess And The Frog’ Releases A New Poster
Yesterday we got our first look at the first movie for the new Walt Disney 2D animated film The Princess and the Frog. Today we get to check out the film’s first movie poster:

Cinematical has just received this beautiful exclusive teaser poster for Disney’s The Princess and the Frog, which marks the studio’s triumphant return to 2D hand-drawn animation. Featuring the voices of Anika Noni Rose (as Princess Tiana), Oprah Winfrey, Keith David, Jim Cummings, John Goodman, Jenifer Lewis, Bruno Campos, Michael-Leon Wooley, Peter Bartlett and Terrence Howard, The Princess and the Frog is based on E.D. Baker’s classic novel The Frog Princess, except this film — written and directed by the filmmaking duo of John Musker and Ron Clements (The Little Mermaid, Aladdin, Hercules) — is set in New Orleans, stars a singing crocodile and features Disney’s first African-American princess. Famed songwriter/composer Randy Newman (Toy Story, Monsters, Inc.) lent his familiar voice to the soundtrack, which I’m sure will carve out its special place alongside Disney’s long list of memorable tracks … folks will have a chance to see the film when it hits theaters in New York and LA on November 25th before expanding wide on December 11th.
I love this poster … the colors are very sharp and vibrant … but doesn’t this poster make it look more like it’s advertising a 3D movie rather than a 2D hand-drawn movie? Even still, I’m really looking forward to the release of this film. It’s been far too long since Disney released a film with a full soundtrack of amazing songs. In the 90’s hey day, the soundtracks were just as entertaining as the films were. Here’s hoping The Princess and the Frog will offer some fun songs when it hits theaters later on this year. What is your fave Disney movie song? I have way too many faves but I’ve lately been singing Prince Ali from Aladdin. Good stuff, yo!

Last night at Legal Seafood when they brought out a big lobster on a plate… I started singing “Under the Sea”
“The fish on the land ain’t happy – he in for a worser fate,
One day when the boss get hungry – guess who gone’ be on da’ plate?
Under the sea, under the sea”
I do agree tho’ that “Prince Ali, fabulous he, Ali a ba ba…” is great to march/parade too… how can you help it?

First, that crocodile is very reminiscent of the crocodile in Disney’s Peter Pan
But one of my favorite Disney songs is “I Won’t Say” from Hercules.

Good for them! The Pixar-type stuff is great, but it really bothers me sometimes to think of future generations only enjoying the 3D stuff, when so many of Disney’s classic cartoons were done the old-fashioned 2D way and were still very enjoyable. Let’s hear it for kickin’ it old school!
