The Newly Antennaed Madonna Steps Out With Jesus Luz
Earlier today we saw a photo of Madonna rockin’ a pair of … things … attached to her head as she walked the red carpet at The Metropolitan Museum of Art Costume Institute Gala in NYC last night. One might expect that after embarrassing herself at the gala Madge might’ve decided to take off her antenna before stepping out in public afterward … and one would be incorrect. Maddy teamed up with her 22 year old young toyboy Jesus Luz (who looked quite fetching in his snazzy tuxedo) for an afterparty at Monkey Bar … and, yes, the antenna were still in place:
Hahahaha. She really does look ridic … like she was trying WAY TOO HARD. Those things on her head do make her look like an geriatric Playboy bunny … but she also bears a striking resemblance to the scary bunny monster from Donnie Darko. Sigh. Remember the days when Madonna used to set trends? In the past few years, it pains me to admit, it merely seems as if she is following the trends set by much younger folks … too late and very unsuccessfully. This weirdness works for Lady GaGa (and the Energizer Bunny), not for Madonna. It’s kinda sad :(

I thought it would have been better if she and Rhianna had switched outfits. Madonna could have gotten rid of the shirt underneath to keep the edginess she insists upon at her age.

When will celebrities learn that just b/c a designer (in this case Marc Jacobs — http://www.redcarpet-fashionawards.com/2009/03/louis-vuitton-fall-2009.html) decides to do something crazy with their models on the runway does NOT mean that you should take that trend into public. Madonna is like a female Peter Pan and she really just needs to stop. Unfortunately her HUGE ego won’t allow her to. And those people who say that men can date younger chicks, so why can’t women date younger men need to realize that EVERYONE looks stupid, desperate and dripping with mid-life crises when they start doing that. It’s embarassing and I really feel sorry for poor Lourdes. The boys are too young to really be affected yet (I hope!) but Lourdes is at that age when all of this stuff must be MORTIFYING to her.
Sorry, Madge. You’re more Barbara Streisand at your age than Lady GaGa and you need to accept it. Someone her age isn’t edgy, just desperate for attention and that’s sooooooo sad.

i disagree. Everyone has those nights when you wear something out that you like or is maybe a little bit fun or crazy and you just dont care what anyone thinks. I think this is what she was doing, just having some fun and being silly. Does it look ridic? Yes. Does Madonna care if you like it or not? No.

First of all, Madonna MADE Lady GaGa. There would be no Lady GaGa if there was never a Madonna, so comparisons are useless. Second of all, we all know Madonna wears what she wears for very specific reasons. Everyone is talking about it. Done! She can’t look bad. Just as Rolltideguy77 said above, I am sure Madonna doesn’t care what all the bloggers (unqualified to make real assessments of anything of value) have to say about her outfit that is worth more than their lives.

Yeah…I’m going to have to go ahead and disagree with the majority and say that Madonna looks good. This look is actually classic Madonna, updated for ‘09.
