Yesterday afternoon, Sarah Michelle Gellar went about her biz of shooting scenes in NYC for her new HBO series The Wonderful Maladys which is scheduled to air later on this year. In the wake of the bullshizz news that plans are in the works to create a new Buffy the Vampire Slayer movie WITHOUT the input from BtVS creator Joss Whedon, SMG (the one and only true Buffy Summers) reported to the set of her show and shot some scenes … here are a couple of pics:

You know, when I first heard that SMG was doing an HBO series after so many years away from TV, I was bummed that she was doing a non-Buffy project and wasn’t too excited about the prospect of her new show. Now that there’s a real possibility that a new movie with a new Buffy might be made, I’ve totally changed my mind. I’d rather SMG never do another Buffy project than have a new shitty version of the tale be told with all new characters. The idea of a new Buffy is just so wrong, on so many levels. SMG will always be the one, true Buffy and that is the end of it. I’m sure we’ll be hearing much more about this new Buffy movie in the months to come … hopefully we’ll get some good news soon. I’d be happy to learn that either Joss Whedon will be brought on board to helm the project OR the project is killed altogether. I guess we shall see.
