New mom-to-be Sarah Michelle Gellar, who we learned last month is pregs with her first child with hubby Freddie Prinze, Jr., was spotted on the Upper West Side NYC set of her new HBO series The Wonderful Maladys this morning filming the first scenes for the series. Altho there is nary a bump to be seen in these photos, we know it’s under those loose-fitting clothes somewhere ;) Here are pics of SMG in her role as Alice Malady on set this AM:

Except for the vocal work she did on the Cartoon Network series Robot Chicken (which was created by Buffyverse album Seth Green), The Wonderful Maladys is SMG‘s first TV series since Buffy the Vampire Slayer ended in 2003 (yikes! has it been that long already?). Here’s hoping her stint on the new HBO series will be more successful than her attempt at a movie career. Now that she has a new mouth to feed on the way, well, having a job is a good idea in this economic environment. While I would really love for SMG to be slipping back into her vampire slayer threads, I am looking forward to seeing her on TV again. I’m hearing great things about the show.
