Robert Pattinson Disrobes In The Italian Sun
Yesterday we got to see a few photos of actors Kristen Stewart (in the role of Bella Swan) and Robert Pattinson (in the role of Edward Cullen) filming a steamy scene together in Montepulciano, Italy for their new movie The Twilight Saga: New Moon. Today we get to see a few more fleshy photos of R. Pattz on set but this time without Kristen Stewart … and a whole lotta shirtlessness:

Lest you think those marks all over Rob’s face are pocks or something, I believe they are digital markers that will allow the CGI folks to add in the “dazzle” effect on his skin. As you Twilighters should be well aware, when vampires stand in the sunlight their skin dazzles like shining diamonds … those little black dots all over Rob’s bare bod will help make him sparkle in the film. see now.. clearly those abs are airbrushed, because at the end of the day he’s just naturally lean and unmuscular. we all can’t be Taylor Lautner after all…
but sidenote… why is he in the sunlight… that’s clearly a no no… he’s never supposed to step foot in the light or else he’d be dead. well.. as dead as the undead can be. you know what I mean.

this is not even related to the post, but i can’t email you b/c my internet is stupid and won’t let me. but trent, i am so disappointed in you!! you haven’t even posted about tila tequila being pregnant yet! she apparently posted something on myspace early this morning about it but then deleted it. i’m sure the story’s still floatin around the web, though. this is a huge story because it could just very well be the end of the humanity as we know it.

@ Aimie: Good point! I hope this is Alice seeing his plan! Its def important they get this part of the book right…some light faintly hits him when hes partially in the shadows, but Bella knocks him back. It annoyed me when they took some liberties with crucial parts of Twilight in the first movie, I hope they don’t do the same here too! Also, those abs are DEF airbrushed….or do we really think he spent forever working out his abs but ignored his arms and rest of his body? He said he had a hard enough time trying to do it for Twilight, don’t think it happened this time around either.

UHHH. yes I’ve read all the books.. What i MEAN, is that the Volturi are waiting in the wings for him to break the rule. The way I read it in the book is that the second he steps out into the sunlight they would take him down, because that’s an infraction. I don’t think the little girl ever sees him step out, i think she just sees a tiny glimmer while he’s still in the shadow.
Aimee, good point. The sunlight shot is probably Alices vision. That’s totally plausible.

People, the abs are definitely real although slightly airbrushed for extra effect on camera. Look at when he is standing in the sun, you can actually see the indents. And the V that leads down south, you can’t make that up with airbrushing. Also there are pics of him doing this scene shot from a side angle, and you can see the indents of his abs there as well. Give him some credit – he definitely has been working out. And it doesn’t take very long for guys to get muscle definition like that. It’s not like he had fat to lose first, he just needed to tighten and tone. Nice work, Rob!!!

The only thing that bothers me about the abs(airbrushed or not), when he was turned into a vamp, he was sick and young..when did he have time to get abs? On top of that, becoming a vamp doesn’t just magically give you muscles AND after he was a vamp, he can’t get defined muscles if he didn’t already have them because their bodies don’t change.
Other than that, YAY FOR SEXY ABS. Oh and I know its called “suspension of disbelieve”, but whatevs! there are lots of parts of these books that make me go “eh??” because it doesn’t quite make sense in the scheme of things lol

He would be hotter without the painted on body. The dots on his face and body are for CGI purposes, so he could sparkle the way Edward was meant to.

if his arms where any bigger, Edward would be Emmett Jr. I dont think his abs are airbrushed on. He might have worked out a lot like Taylor (Jacob) did to keep his role in the 2nd movie. Regardless as Edward he’s smokin’ hot… as Rob he’s a few nuts short for the fame he’s in…

No those muscles aren’t airbrushed – they’re real (confirmed by co-star Kellan Lutz). Full credit to him – he must have been working hard. He looks awesome – lean and nicely defined. “Over the top” muscles are a turn off, but he looks just right! : )
