Peace The Spork Out, ‘MadTV’
The series finale airs this Saturday night

After 14 seasons and 326 episodes, MadTV the little sketch comedy show that could is bidding adieu and going off the air after this coming Saturday night’s series finale ep:

From the press release: Fred Willard returns to bid a final farewell by hosting “MADtv Gives Back.” Alumni Alex Borstein, Mo Collins, Will Sasso and Debra Wilson Skelton return to recreate their notable MADtv characters as the show takes a look back at the fan-favorite sketches that put this side-splitting sketch comedy series on the map on the series finale episode of MADtv airing Saturday, May 16 (11:00 PM-Midnight ET/PT) on FOX.

Basically running in competition with the long-running Saturday Night Live (picking up where In Living Color left off), there was many a weekend that I felt that MadTV came out on top in terms of hilarity. The show managed to put together THE FUNNIEST music video parodies that I have ever seen (my fave is their video Britney Spears, Me Against Madonna). It will be sad to say goodbye to the show after all these years. After the jump, check out a short video of the cast saying thanks and goodbye to all the fans …

Thanks for 14 seasons of laughs, MadTV. I’ll be watching this Saturday night, 11PM for the last time.

  7. Frisa says:

Awwww this is a bummer!! I watch almost everyweek and I am going to miss Stewart and Ms. Swan….ahh you looka like a man, lika me, lika you….hilarious!!

  8. Michelle says:

I had no idea they were going off the air! I didn’t watch it a lot (I’m more of an SNL girl, what can I say?) but I would flip over on occasion and it was always entertaining… I LOVE Stewart!!!

  9. Kent says:

The producers absolutely RUINED Mad tv (the season before last) when they took it out of the studio and put it in that awkward cabaret-type of venue, with a bar at the back.
From that point on, Mad TV had RIP written all over it. Which is really too bad because up to that point it was far superior to anything SNL was doing in the 90′s and 00′s.
I was totally sad when I first heard that Mad tv had been canceled, but not at all surprised.
Oh well, at least SNL has revived a more clever take on things this whole past season, much more clever and actually funny than anything they’ve done in years, so I’ll still be watching that.

  10. Melinda says:

Oh no! I am so sad……Mad TV was definitely cutting edge and I have enjoyed watching it! Peace out Mad TV, you will be missed!

  11. Ashley says:

Have you seen the Gwen Stefani song, too? I always laugh at it.

I LOVEEEE this show! I’m going to miss Stuart and Dot so much! I call my baby Miss Swan because she is just learning to talk and she sounds just like her!

  12. Jill says:

SAD! funniest skit for me was new guy impersonating Nigel from So You Think You Can Dance! Hilarious.

  13. Chase says:

Madonna really did do that to Britney! ahaha

  14. TheTobin says:

My favorite was always the “Sad 50 Cent” video … hilarious spin on a ridiculous rapper. “I walk around my prostitue garden …” Ha! http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Mr6RgKQcu3w

  15. Brittny Doll says:

Awww, I’m going to miss it!

I always had a better laugh at MadTV over SNL. Least Andy and Justin.T. are making it worth watching again.

  16. amanda says:

my fave is ‘can i have yo numba’… its even funnier because its the girl playin the guy. hahaha

  17. Stephanie says:

Ugh i love MadTV. I watch “can i get yo numba” at least once a month on youtube. And anytime Im having a bad day I find a Stuart clip and pee my pants laughing. eff that show was funny!

  18. Siddy says:

That sucks. A lot of the stuff that they did was a lot better than some of the recent crap that SNL has been cranking out. While SNL sounded forced and the jokes were lame, I found that MadTV was really on the ball and relevant.

  19. Niki says:

Have to admit I’ve mostly been an SNL girl, but I am sad to see MadTV go. A good friend of mine from high school just joined the cast this year and I am so pumped for her that she’s living her dream! Just sad that it turns out to only be for one season. Hopefully it will turn out to have been a great stepping stone for her, though.

  20. Justin says:

Once Stephnie Weir left the show, it was only a matter of time until MadTV got cancelled.
