Lost is my absolute favourite show. I understand where you’re coming from–it can be very hard to follow and a little difficult to understand. It takes a lot of patience and you definitely have to pay really close attention to catch every detail, but I think it pays off.

Personally, I really enjoyed the season finale. Locke’s dead body and the Locke-impersonator was the greatest part, in my opinion.

But I have a feeling everything that has happened isn’t at all how it seems. I feel like the writers are leaving the best for last, and are going to pull out all the stops next season. I really hope it ends well, because I’ve loved the show so far!

Trennntt, worse review ever.
How could you possibly watch Lost at just face value, are you not paying attention at all to the intricate details they are slowly revealing? Obviously not. If you focus on the going to the island, leaving the island stuff and thats it (as per what you said you’re bored with) you’re obviously not paying enough attention. Thought your viewing tastes were better than that!

I respect anyone’s decision to not like a show b/c I can’t stand 24, I just don’t find it entertaining at all. It kind of reminds me of a soap opera how they cut every few minutes when anything romotely exciting happens and then slightly recap when it comes back from commercial. So, it’s cool if LOST isn’t your thing. But for me, it is the best show on TV with no exception. No other show gets me to actually think once it has left my screen. I think it is a show that you have to be really invested in to truely enjoy. Also, I agree with the other poster, you definitely need to watch Fringe (Walter is awesome).

I think Jacob’s rival seen at the start of the episode is the Smoke Monster. We’ve seen throughtout the show plenty of dead people appear on the island, there has been strong hints that the Monster is behind this e.g. Eko’s brother appearing to him just before the Monster kills him.

Therefore, I believe that the un-named man lead Locke to his death, then took his form, in order to manipulate a chain of events that would lead to Jacob’s death. First, he appeared as Christian Shepard, who told Locke to move the Island and to bring the others back to save it. This lead to Locke’s death at the hands of Ben, who was fuelled by jealousy. Now back on the island, deceased, the Monster/un-named man is able to take his form.

He then sets the course of events into action by getting Richard to tell the living Locke from the past the he must save everyone by dying, appearing as Ben’s daughter Alex who tells her father him he must follow Locke’s orders, or else, and finaly convincing Ben to kill Jacob, thus finding a loophole to achieve his goal.

i thought the part with jacob doing the weaving thing set up why he met with various Losties/Ajira folk. i remember something about greek mythology (though the movie ‘Wanted’ explains this much better), that each strand represented a person’s fate. the fact that jacob himself was personally weaving implied he wanted to bring them all together for a bigger picture/purpose.

IMO, this season is all about rewarding faithful Lost viewers. the finale had a lot of shout-outs from previous seasons (like the DriveShaft ring), and the whole season had one common theme: the past. in fact, Lost has been pretty good at having a theme for each episode (season1: landing on the island, 2: hatch, 3: err… the first half was bad, but i think it was to set up for season5 events, 4: the main land, 5: the past).

the only really annoying thing about lost is jack’s character. he should be the one to blame for the whole “let’s get out of the island” — “we have to get back”, — “we have to do this and that” :P ah, very wishy-washy he is.

You’re either a fan of LOST- or you’re not. Some people just don’t get it or they don’t get where it’s going. There are those of us who see the beauty behind the J.J Abrams of the world – and the talented writers of LOST. Other people are content w/ simpler entertainment. Being a fan of Lost is a bigger commitment to TV than some people want to make.

I needed a smoke break with 15min left when juliet was pulled down, didn’t think she was going to make it. Wanted her dead from day one, but regretted that when the chains took her.

Season 5 was not only a snooze fest but too big of a change, from sawyer in charge instead of jack and john all holy-thou…although now we know why.

but the finale was AMAZING! Still dont get the statue, glad to see rose and bernard retired, oh and jacob’s hott.

Last nights episode was quite AWESOME. If you do your research into the themes within LOST your world would have been rocked last night. This is one of the most intelligent shows I’ve ever watched. It’s like one of those Magic Eye pictures – you need to give it careful attention and have patience and if you’re willing to ‘take a leap of faith’ you’ll be beyond entertained. I cannot wait for season 6….

Trent, I don’t think you are really paying attention enough to enjoy this season, which IMO has been the most amazing. There are a lot of things going on that most people don’t even catch (like that nameless man really being Locke) and the theories are so awesome that I can’t believe you aren’t in love with this season!! i think part of the problem is they’re answering a lot of past storylines in a half season instead of a full season. it’s a lot to take in at a quick pace and if you miss one episode that throws the continuity.

hope i’m not spoiling it for those that have not seen it yet, but “Ghost Locke” was the dark-haired guy talking to Jacob on the beach at the start of the episode. how he was able to occupy Locke’s body….that’s another question.

i personally loved this season and was gratefully to finally be able to go, “Oh! That’s why such and such happened two seasons ago.” super excited for next years last season.

I think Juliette died for the sake of Sawyer/Kate, did you see the way he was looking at Kate the entire episode? Especially when Bernard was talking about having someone to die with or whatever. It was then that Juliette became hellbent for setting off the bomb, and I think it’s so she wouldn’t ever meet Sawyer, and therefore get her heart broken by him. You’ll also notice that Sawyer was calm when talking to Jack until Jack mentioned something about never meeting Kate if they didn’t end up on the island, and then Sawyer started their little brawl. I think Sawyer loved Juliette because opportunity was knocking for him to get together with Juliette (Kate was gone), the minute Kate got back to the island, everything changed. Sawyer even said as much at the beginning. I liked the finale, i haven’t watched lost all season (been reading some recaps, keeping up) but I tuned in last night just to see an update, and am ready for next season. Glad Juliette is gone, as she got on my nerves.

Trent, I completely agree. I loved the changing of the logo thing, that was great, but the whole episode I was just like..well…OK, so? Apart from fake-Locke, nothing else was really season-finale worthy.

They’ve got me for one more year though. I sincerely hope they do a good job of wrapping it all up.
