Lindsay Lohan Pops Up In France, Tries To Find Herself

Jetsets with little sister Ali, explains that she "lost" herself with Samantha
May 13th, 2009

Lindsay Lohan, who has been jetting around North America in the past few weeks, has made her way to France this week with little homeschooled sister Aliana Lohan in tow (who, clearly, must be such a successful scholastic that she is able to take time away from her studies to accompany her big sister on trips around the world when she should be in school). In a new interview with Closer magazine, Lindsay explains that she likes the way she looks (ie. she doesn’t believe she is too skinny) and reveals that she is now friends with ex-girlfriend Samantha Ronson … she also confesses that she “lost” herself in Sam and is now looking to find herself again. Here are a few pics of Linds and Ali doing some shopping in Paris yesterday and portions of her Closer magazine interview:

Lindsay Lohan has denied having an eating disorder and has spoken about her relationship with Sam Ronson. The actress has been pictured looking painfully thin since splitting up with DJ Sam and there have been rumours she has stopped eating through the upset. “I like the way I look,” the 22-year-old said. “I’m not starving myself, contrary to popular belief. I’m criticised when I’m too heavy or too thin.” Lindsay broke up with girlfriend Sam – sister of Mark Ronson – just last month but maintains they are still close. “We’re friends. I lost myself a bit with Sam, like many people do when they’re in a relationship,” she continued. “I want to be on my own for a while. I need to care about myself now. I didn’t get into this business to be a celebrity. I’ve been a target for a long time.” She is even considering a move to London because “people aren’t as judgemental”. The Mean Girls star, who has had a couple of stints in rehab for drink and drug problems, also bemoaned the way she is portrayed in the media and the effect it has on her career. “When I was a kid,” she revealed. “I thought movie stars were people who wanted to act in great movies. It’s all I ever wanted to do, but I’ve become this girl who’s seen as someone who parties, who wants to be photographed all the time, isn’t focused and can’t be on time. “That’s not true. There are other actresses my age, like Scarlett Johansson, and I don’t get the same opportunities.”

My advice for Lindsay would be that if you don’t want to be seen as a young actress who “parties, wants to be photographed all the time, isn’t focused and can’t be on time” then the first thing you have to do is not do those things. I love me some Lindsay but she is guilty of all of those things … in repeated instances. What she needs to do is not rail against the persona she has, it’s to move forward and change people’s perceptions. You can’t really undo the past by denying it … you have to prove to people that you have changed for the better. Lindsay has a long way to go to show growth and change but she can deffo do it … it just remains to be seen if she’s serious about actually changing (cleaning her home might be a good place to start). I guess we’ll have to wait and see. In the meantime, Lindsay will be shopping and mentoring her little sister … IMHO, she can’t possibly do a worse job of that than mama Dina Lohan.

  1. Jenn Says:

Wow seems too early to tell but looks like a step in the right direction for Linds if it’s all true.

  2. Mr. Gyllenhaal Says:

What she should be doing is staying home and keeping a low profile. Showing up in Hawaii, France..shopping and doing nothing doesn’t really convince me of any kind of change.

  3. Jstar Says:

She should get into acting classes, get a degree in the art she claims to love so much, even professional actors take more lessons….that would also clean up her image.

  4. Meream Says:

She already is a good actress, in my opinion, but she is wasting herself away. Tsk.

  5. Dach Says:

She kills me with this” hide my face” look. Little girl please…..you haven’t done a decent movie in a long ass while. You need all the publicity you can get..enjoy it. I wish she would go away!!!

  6. Jackie Says:

    I agree w/u Trent.
I just got out of a rocky relationship that I deffo lost myself in it. My best friends didn’t recognize me anymore, I was always sad when I use to be a happy, positive person.

She really needs to focus on getting better and being alone for now is a good thing.

  7. MeG Says:

LOL Home Schooling Rules! Hilarious! Lindsay is all talk…she seems to realize the image she portrays to the public but has taken NO steps toward change, even though she knows it has damaged her career. Its high time she stops talking about her personal life! She should have taken Ellen D’s many hints of advice about keeping a LOW profile.

  8. Kristin Says:

I agree with Trent as well. She needs to put her head down, keep a low profile, seek good jobs and stop acting like the whole world is out to get her. It is really sad to me that she doesn’t insist on her little sister taking school seriously and instead is using her to fill the void that Sam left by taking her around the world to hang out and shop. Blaarrrggh.

  9. Karly Says:

Poor Ali. She really needs her education. I mean she does need something to fall back on later.

  10. CB Says:

If she’s not ready to take responsibility for the shambles of her life, how can she expect to get better? The sad reality of addiction is that if you aren’t mentally *ready* to get well, you can’t and won’t. Period. Blaming others shows how sick she still is. Sadly, I think things will get worse for Linds before they get better.

  11. Noah Lieske Says:

I don’t think that she is a good actress at all. As well as a person. Noah Lieske

  12. trish Says:

Please, she only says what she thinks sounds smart, or what she thinks people want to hear as far as getting herself together, but we all know that deep down, she loves the attention and being a “target”.

  13. Green Is Good Says:

:Home Schooling rules!” Ha ha ha!

Alli is going to wind as ignorant and uneducated as Lilo, and will have no marketable skills to fall back on (like Lilo) when the Lilo gravy train crashes and burns.

  14. Green Is Good Says:

    Sorry, “wind UP as ignorant”.

  15. Bleeding Ears Says:

What Lindsay REALLY needs is to grab Britney Spears and come keep a low profile at my house for a while. Ladies…. the doctor is IN!

  16. Janelle Says:

I feel like she may seriously be a narcissist and actually believes what she says. Its beyond denial for her – she actually believes she is a victim.

  17. Sarah Says:

she still goes to clubs and parties. she can claim she was there to support sam but movie studios wont care. she needs to stop shopping, stop jet setting, stop vacationing, and get serious in life.

  18. Susie Says:

Yeah, Janella is right – she’s totally in denial and believes she’s a victim.

And what’s with the whiny comparison to Scarlett Johannson??

“That’s not true. There are other actresses my age, like Scarlett Johansson, and I don’t get the same opportunities.”

So because Lindsay and Scarlett are the same age, that is grounds for receiving the same opportunities!?!?? LOL!

She needs to take a good hard look in the mirror. She is nothing like Scarlett! Scarlett seems to be a lot more grounded, for starters….

    Wake up Lindsay!

  19. JessicaGiovanna Says:

Conversation w/ this two twitty twats consists of the following: umm, like, yeah, totally, umm, like, yeah awesome, umm, like I was home schooled.

  20. Joanne Says:

Please … so many hollywood people ‘party’ in the same way and are not targetted with a media onslaught or get criticised to death. Lindsay sells tabloids – it’s all about money … and when they’re over Linds – it will be some other female.

  21. mimi Says:

its so strange to think lindsay and scarlett are the same age.. they seem world’s apart!
i dont understand why its so damn hard for lindsay to just, you know, be a NORMAL person.
