The Yikes!Throw it back about Khloe Kardashian is just plain mean. The girl is beautiful and all the name calling is uncalled for….Granted the “costume” is inappropriate with no top but the insults went too far imo.

Hey hey, can we get some info on the Little Ashes premiere to celebrate the birthday boy/main actor/rich Spanish artistic history depicted? I can’t find anywhere if there’s been an NYC premiere or if hottie R. Pattinson has attended! Help Trent!

I know this is totally an ignorant question, so please help me out on this… Why are gays so against the “don’t ask, don’t tell” policy in the military? Doesn’t it protect them from acts of hate against them in a predominantly “macho man”, and unfortunately intolerant, environment? Plus, does sexuality really have a place in military, period? Isn’t your preference something you would just keep on your own time whether you were gay or straight? I would LOVE to hear opinions on this!

@CoCo — we hate it because it operates under the assumption that we aren’t “macho men” capable of standing up for ourselves (which those of us in the arm are), and separating our sexuality from our jobs (which it’s assumed straight people will do automatically). It also assumes that straight colleagues aren’t competent enough to handle working with an out man, which is ludicrous. You’re right, sexuality doesn’t have a place in the military, but being open about who you are does. If you’re over seas, you want to be able to admit you miss your boyfriend. Every straight soldier talks about his wife/girlfriend for release and comfort, and to be denied that as a gay man or woman is a horrible thing.

That makes sense… So they think that you will be like hitting on your straight colleagues or something? DUH! That’s just silly they would think that… I wouldn’t hit on a gay man and expect him to go for me (a straight female)! Why would a gay man hit on a straight one?! Probably wouldn’t! And for clarification, I don’t think gay men can’t be “macho.” I know plenty of very strong gay men! Just none have an opinion on the military issue because they don’t have a desire to be in the military. I just used the word “macho” to describe guys who are stereotypical military types and homophobic. Thanks Zachary! Especially since it sounds like you are in the military… it makes your opinion even more insightful!

Hey Trent,
For the most part I really like your blog! One thing I would suggest, however, is to stop linking to misogynistic blogs like Hollywood Tuna and Egotastic. They do not deserve hits.
