I’m A Mac
The TV Guide

Wee!! I am having a pretty great day so far :) With David’s help, I managed to procure tickets to see Kylie Minogue LIVE IN CONCERT here in the US this Fall in Oakland/San Francisco, Los Angeles and New York City! As you may recall, I announced yesterday that Kylie is launching her FIRST EVER US tour this Fall and tickets went on presale this morning. If you missed out on today’s presale, don’t fret … the tickets go on public sale next weekend so you have a second chance to get tix. I’m also excited cuz Josh and I are going to see Star Trek at the ArcLight tonight … I’m geeked to see the film again but I’m more excited to hang out with my homie.

All day long I’ve been working exclusively on my MacBook laptop … I think I’m finally ready to make the switch to Apple:

It’s been a long time since I’ve been a Mac person … but my first computer back in 1994 was a Mac PowerPC and I had a heavy-as-hell Mac PowerBook all thru college. I made the switch to PC when cd burners came out and never looked back. I’ve had this MacBook for a couple of years now and I love it … I’ve been toying with the idea of using my Mac when I’m on the road and my HP PC when I’m home. This computer is so fast, we’ll see how it goes. So far, I’ve suffered no hiccups at all. Everything that I normally do on a PC I’ve been able to do on my Mac.

Temps are soaring into the high 90′s today so I think I’m gonna hafta get my ass to the pool. We’ve yet to use our facilities here in our new condo building so today might be the day. Summer, summertime!

Did you recently purchase a bad ass PC from best buy? Will you still use it? I remember looking at it and drooling all over my keyboard.

  2. Tony says:

Congrats on the Mac! I love mine!

  3. Mariah says:

PC all the WAY. Mac drives me nuts. This is a debate among my friends. It’s like the debate between Velvetta and shells VS macaroni and cheese. Velvetta all the way:)!! I love summertime pool sessions. A marg, the sun and a good book…life doesn’t get better!!

  5. Kristi says:

Ugh go ahead and rub in your 90 degree pool weather while I sit and suffer through 60′s and some 70′s and rain, rain, RAIN!! Is it ok if I hate you a littel bit while I love you at the same time??!!

  6. Katie says:

Heck ya! All about the Mac…I will never own anything else!

  7. Jessica says:

I have a mac. O M G, best investment we’ve ever made! We have the 24″ moniter. LOVE IT!! Way to go Trent!!

  8. anna says:

Mac’s are fine for people who don’t actually have to work with a bunch of different people and businesses. All operating systems when your dealing in business are PC’s and use Window’s religiously. Macs will never be as universal as PC’s. Ever.

  9. Kat says:

After being a complete PC cheerleader for 20 years, I was finally convinced to make the switch over to Mac — there’s a bit of a learning curve, but once you get used to the Mac way of things it’s just totally wicked awesome. It’s been about a month now and I barely touch my HP desktop anymore. Yay MacBook! :)

Trent, is that a thinly veiled advertisement for Mac? Are you being paid for those comments?

You don’t own one, do you? Maybe you should. Never, ever will I go back to a pc.

I just got a Mac (Macbook Pro 15”) for the first time last June and will never go back to a PC. I use a PC at work but I just LOVE my Mac at home. It’s awesome. :)

  13. Apples v 2 says:

Reading this on my new iMac! I love Apple. PCs are too virus-ridden; granted, it’s because not as many programs are made for Macs, but I don’t mind waiting awhile to get that stuff.

  14. julie says:

@ anna- you do know that there is a program on the new macs that lets you switch from one operating system to the other. So if you need something from windows…all you do is push a button. MACs are amazing, we have three and will NEVER purchase a PC again.

  15. javajunko says:

omg you use a PC! I’ve had a Macbook Pro for a while now and I’ll never EVER go back to a crappy PC again! NEVER!! PC’s just don’t make any sense! and they just don’t work as smooth and easy as a Mac..yaaaay for you!! and you are really stuck on Windows..(snicker) then you can use it on a Mac too…not sure why you would want to, but there are some people…

  16. anna says:

I actually have both. My main job is working with a fortune 100 company. The independent contractors with this company need to use PC’s because their operating systems and software are incompatible with Mac’s and there is no way to “push a button” and make it all work. Most major corporations that utelize software specific to their line of business use PC’s. I am not dissing Mac. I like using my Mac for artwork, photo’s, etc. But my point was that the IT companies working for major corps will never use macs for their employees and or contractors.

  17. Nikki says:

Yay! That’s my computer! I love it.

  18. newsgrrl says:

I have an acer mini for the PC stuff in my life but my main machines are this 17inch MBP with a 12inch Mac PowerBook as back up.

  19. JB says:

I’ve had a MacBook and a HP PC for a couple years now, and as time goes on, I find myself using the PC less and less… I love my Mac!

  20. Ally says:

My main beef with Apple is the pricing of their products. You paying more for the esteem of owning a Mac than the actual performance of the computer or iPod. I’ll never give up my iPod but no way I was going to pay at least twice as much for half the performance when I bought my laptop a few weeks ago.

    • @Ally — yep, and that is the exact reason i switched to a pc in the first place. back in 97 i was going to play $2500 for a Mac computer with a cd burner … until a visit to another store enlightened that a PC with a cd burner and more hard drive capacity was only $1200.
