Last Friday we learned from various sources that things were “looking good” for Dollhouse to be renewed by Fox for a second season and just today Fox has officially announced that the show will, indeed, be coming back this Fall. While season 2 will prolly have a smaller budget and while only 13 eps have been ordered (as opposed to the usual 22), this is great news for fans of Joss Whedon and the show itself who want to see Dollhouse live beyond one short season:
Fox announced its schedule on Monday morning as upfronts week kicked off in New York City. The network is holding most of its new offerings until midseason when postseason baseball is out of the way. But the musical “Glee” and two comedies — the animated “The Cleveland Show” and “Brothers” — will make their debuts in the fall. The new shows at midseason will be — as previously reported — dramas “Human Target” and “Past Life” and “Sons of Tuscon,” a comedy. It is the first upfronts for new chairman Peter Rice, the former Fox Searchlight executive who was appointed to the job in March. In a conference call Fox executives had with reporters Monday morning, he spoke about the changing business of network television, but pointed out that mass audiences still flock to the networks more than to cable … the low-rated Joss Whedon show “Dollhouse” has been renewed for its second season in its same Friday time slot. “This is a bet on Joss Whedon,” Reilly said.
Woot!! This is great news! Dollhouse may have had a slow start (presumably because Fox interfered with Joss‘s vision for the show and started meddling) but it ended with a HUGE bang. I’m not too happy that the show will stay in its Friday night timeslot but I’m confident that the quality of the show will attract the audience that it deserves. Bad news for fans of Terminator: The Sarah Connor Chronicles … it was not so lucky. The show has not been renewed for a third season. It seems to me that Fox gave the show its chance at a second season and they just couldn’t pull it off. My guess is that Dollhouse is now in that position … you get your chance but you better be successful. I love the show … I’m just happy it’s coming back. Irregardless of what happens beyond season 2, Dollhouse will continue to entertain … of that, I have no doubt.

YES!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! This is excellent news. What Joss Whedon needs to do now is cast Summer Glau immediately since FOX cancelled The Sarah Conner Chronicles(which was also a great show). Summer would be an excellent addition to the cast. We already know she can kick ass.
Seriously, what do you like about the show? I watched the entire season trying to figure out why people cared and ended up believing that Elisha Dushku is a horrible horrible actress. Man, she’s crap!
Dollhouse is the shiz….the beginnin eps were good but it got better n better toward the end and full of drama and more importantly ACTION, which is what FOX best provides. Im sad for Terminator though I really loved that show but I heard because of the new movie that they didnt know where to take the show in the nex season.
Cant wait for season 2 of Dollhouse. YAY

And Suzette… she doesn’t need to be a terrific actress for she is royally hot & sexy and I just want to look at her
since my life pretty much revolves around what’s on TV lately this makes me happy.

The Sarah Connor Chronicles was a really good show. I’m so bummed it wasn’t renewed. Summer Glau did a great job, it’s a shame more people didn’t see it.
I am sooooooo happy, now we just need to fix my sweet baby Victor’s face and everything will be perfect!
