First Look: ‘Sherlock Holmes’

In March we got our first look at the teaser poster for the new Guy Ritchie-directed film Sherlock Holmes which stars Robert Downey, Jr. as the super sleuth and Jude Law as his able sidekick Dr. Watson. Today, we get to see the first movie trailer released for the film. This trailer makes it clear that RDJ’s Sherlock is not your father’s Sherlock … this one is funny, as you might expect from an actor like RDJ. Here are a few screencaps from the new trailer:
While I doubt that RDJ’s Sherlock Holmes will be as wise-cracking as his Tony Stark in Iron Man, it’s clear that Ritchie wants him to have a sense of humor. After the jump, check out the Sherlock Holmes movie trailer in full and see for yourself …
LMAO! I love this film already. It seems to have just the right balance of smarts and laughs. You can tell that RDJ and Jude Law are going to be magic on the big screen together. The last scene in the trailer just kills me … I had to watch it a few times. This trailer gives me great hope that Sherlock Holmes will be a great film … and from Guy Ritchie, no less. Who knew? What do you think? Does this trailer work for you?

I can’t wait. I love the books, and it looks like they are staying true to the stories in that Holmes is actually pretty comical.

looks good, but I feel like it’s trying too hard to be an action/adventure film…. which I never considered Sherlock Holmes to be… I’ll see it anyway…… but still.

@Lindsey I totally agree, I have a massive crush on Mark Strong, especially in Stardust! Having said that I think this movie looks pants from the trailer! I hope i’m proved wrong!!
