First Look: Britney Spears, ‘Radar’
"Confidence is a must/Cockiness is a plus"

BritneySpears.com has just released the official artwork for Britney‘s new single Radar … check it out:

To be totally honest, Radar isn’t my fave track off of Circus (nor was it a particular fave when it was first released on her album Blackout) but I do like it. It’s one of those songs that you think you don’t want to hear but when it comes on you end up dancing around and singing along with. The remix possibilities are numerous, it could be a big hit. I’m hoping they release something more adventurous as the next single … I know Phonography is a bonus track but it would make such a great single! Ah well, I guess we’ll have to see what comes next. For now, Radar should be blasting from our stereos this Summer … do you think this is good news?

They left off so many good tracks off Circus: Phonography, Amnesia, Quicksand. All of these would have been great 4th singles. Jive was trying too hard to do “sweet, poppy Britney” and should have just gone all out like they did on Blackout.

Still, I’m glad Radar is the next choice. I don’t think it’ll do well at all, but it could have been so much worse, like having Kill The Lights or Mannequin

radar is a good song and its gonna be a great single… it rocked on the tour!!

    1. OK, I love Britney and all, but the artwork SUCKS… what bothers me the most is that font they picked for “radar”… I mean, SERIOUSLY?! the only font worse than that would’ve been Comic Sans… and that’s saying too much. As someone said, the design people lack effort, I could’ve done a better job in 10 minutes, really.

    2. “Radar” is a nice song, there are other songs on the album which are single-material too, but I don’t mind “Radar”, it’s cool.

    3. Did I miss anything? why is everyone assuming she’ll release a 5th single? most of the times she has only released 4 singles from each album….. ?

I Love radar, it’s my fav song off of Blackout, it’s amazing and i’m glad it’s being released but the artwork is fugly, way too much pink, pink = hot
    too much pink = ewww
PS. i want Unusual you to be the next single if there’s one :D

    @Alex
    Agree
    Agree
Because now a days its normal for an artist to release more than 4 singles from an album and promote the album for years. The only thing people dont get is that Britney is still kinda stuck in the old ages when it comes to stuff like this. lol I would love for her to pull a “beyonce” (even though 50 cent did it first) and make a video for all her singles…but thats not gunna happen.

  6. Janelle says:

I agree with Trent – I used to not like Radar, but it just kinda was an earworm that made me really like it. Is something wrong with me? I don’t seem to like kill the lights at all…

  7. Donna says:

Yeah, I think most of us agree that Britney’s best songs are her B sides. I think Britney should do an MTV unplugged next and maybe her and Lady Gaga could sing Quicksand together live. That’s also a really good song. An unplugged could put the whole lipsynching thing to rest too. If Courtney Love did it with Hole, Britney could! ;)

  8. la princesa says:

I didn’t mind Radar. The song that is getting on my nerve right now is “Break the Ice,” because it’s the only song that my 2 year old goddaughter wants to hear! AAAAAAAAAAAAAALLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLL the time!

  9. she should be going forward not backwards. release a new song, not an old one we don’t know about!

  10. testington says:

that is one of the lamer songs on the album, and definetly one of the worst on the set list of her tour…unimpressive art work too…an odd miss-step

  11. JeniLee says:

Agree Annie…the bonus tracks are great. I LOVE Trouble. Would have been a great single. Amnesia I love but I think is too bubblegum. And i love Quicksand and Rock Me In and Phonography!

  12. Alex says:

@ Malcom I am glad you agree, the only song I don’t care for on that album is my baby lol they can disregard that one haha. But seriously I can see a video for every song, and who best to do it than Britney Queen of pop!!!

  13. EP says:

Do you guys think that the picture somehow looks like Chris Crocker? lol Just saying…

  14. Lana says:

They played Radar on Australian radio early last year after Break The Ice. It did pretty well but I don’t think it was released as an official single. So it will be interesting to see if they try and release it down here.

  15. Niki says:

Radar was my favorite song on Blackout and I still really like it. Sounds like a mix of those who loathe it and those who like it. I love Brit so I’m hoping for the best with this single!

  16. blakeblake says:

“Trouble” was a GREAT song released on the Japanese album version, and can be heard on her documentary that aired on MTV, that’s where I first heard it and fell in love with it, I wish dearly it would be her next single.

  17. Jake says:

I loved Radar on Blackout & the updated version on Circus rocks as well so I am very happy even though I’ll hear it all over the radio and it’s been at the top of my itunes playlist for years xD I’m routing for Unusual You to be released, though I can’t imagine BritBrit releasing a slow song anymore…

  18. steven says:

Radar was my favorite song off of Radar too, but by the time Circus came out I skipped it to listen to the other bonus tracks. I do think non-fans will love Radar though bc they haven’t heard it, and I think the video could be really cool. Phonography has a cool beat but I think the lyrics suck and it is basically Digital Get Down by NSYNC. Love Me In is a rockin song. Why does no one love it like I do? :)

I agree with all the Unusual You fans. I love that song and it puts me in a really good mood. I think it would be radio-friendly but still unique. Mannequin, though one of my favorites, would probably flop on radio bc it is sooo dark and hard to understand. I think Lace and Leather would have been a good release too. It is funky and catchy as hell.

  19. steven says:

    oops meant “rock me in”
also, i need to go out and listen to trouble. i missed out on that one i suppose.
    peace out britney lovers.

  20. J says:

Unusual You & Radar were both produced by Bloodshy & Avant – Piece of Me as well (Toxic, we all know too). So maybe Radar was held off because of Piece of Me being the track they produced was released.

I reckon Bloodshy & Avant might make a deal for when they produce it has to be released as a single, and if so i don’t blame them. They continue to make hit after hit. However i believe Unusual You showcased their ability to make such wonderful music – Britney too. I really hope Unusual You gets released after or together almost.

Even the iTunes Bonus Track, Trouble, which you received when you Pre-Ordered, also produced by them, should have been on the original track-listing. Trouble is a great song – better than Womanizer & def on par with Gimme More – referencing them because its one of those “Trouble, trouble, trouble… Gimme Gimme More, Womanizer, Womanizer, Womanizer. songs.
