Emma Watson Does ‘Crash’ Magazine
Emma Watson, star of the Harry Potter movie franchise and emerging fashion model, is featured in the new issue of the French fashion magazine Crash in a very interesting photoshoot shot by fashion designer Karl Lagerfeld. Here are a couple of Emma’s, shall we say, fashion-forward looks for the mag:
This is not the first time she’s crossed over from actress to model. In fact, it’s becoming something of a habit. And Emma Watson’s latest photoshoot is the most daring and unusual yet. In one of the pictures, she appears as a ghostly-looking nun, with a veil, white eyebrows and an other-wordly expression on her face. In another, she is considerably less ethereal, wearing an Alexander McQueen bodice-style top and a revealing Vivienne Westwood shirt. The photos were taken for French fashion magazine Crash by Chanel designer Karl Lagerfeld. The 19-year-old Harry Potter star agreed to the shoot after meeting him at a party. She told the magazine: “This was a dream come true. We spent the whole day together and he can talk about anything – literature, art, science, modern culture. I was totally seduced.” Miss Watson, who took part in a shoot for Italian Vogue last year, is currently filming the first installment of the final Harry Potter film.
Normally, I hate photoshoots like this. Making women look like aliens does nothing for me. But, I do love it when someone like Björk does interesting things with her look, so I guess — for me — it depends on the subject of the photo. That said, I love Emma Watson and I like these odd pics of her. After the jump, check out a few more pics from this shoot — they’re deffo Lagerfeld but, I think, are kinda cool …
Emma Watson is such a pretty girl … she doesn’t need all of this make-up to look good … but all of this make-up doesn’t really detract from her natural beauty either. I like her modeling pics because she doesn’t look like a model. She always strikes me as a “normal” girl … and therein lies her charm. I’d prolly hate these pics if it were any other starlet … but Emma makes it work. What do you think?

HMMM… I’m not really sure if I would call her a normal looking girl. I think she really does look different from most girls her age. Where I live, girls bathe in orange tanner and look like tanned baked oranges with white hair but lately brunette is becoming the new blonde. But uh, anyway, I think Emma Watson kind of has a classic beauty to her. I think out of all of the Harry Potter co-stars she might be the biggest one of them all in the future. The best picture of her is with her hands on her hips.

I think the photos are fantastic. She’s a stunningly beautiful girl (in a innocent sort of a way), but still has this ability to bring across something dark and quizzical, which works really well with this sort of thing. I think if you’d put here in some ‘normal’ fashion, she’d look boring, uncertain and not herself! (… as she has done in some of the other shoots she’s done).

The shoot is a bit uncharacteristic of who she seems to be but I love Emma, so it’s all good.

She could totally pull off high fashion. She is such a beautiful young woman. Even though the makeup and clothes do nothing for her she STILL looks sensational.

Oh man, I clearly momentarily lost the ability to read and thought the headline to the story was Emma Watson dies in crash – and my heart did a serious flutter. That’ll teach me for trying to scan read! Thank goodness my sanity returned and it is just slightly odd photos. Phwew.

Honestly? I have to disagree. She looks like a plain jane fourteen year old girl and probably always will. Oh my little Hermione Grainger is all groweds up!!!!

shes gorgeous and so smart – did you know she got EIGHT A* and two As in GCSEs?! I’m taking mine now and nobody in my school has a chance of even getting all As…! I love how fame doesn’t go to her head and if important fashion figures are admiring her I’m glad, makes a change from drugged models! :D

She looks classy alright. But I think she can’t act since the third installment of the Potter movies. She used to be a natural and all but now, her expressions are limited to raising and arching her eyebrows to show that she is showing emotions.
