Donald Trump Rules, Carrie Prejean Will Keep Her Crown

"We're in the 21st century"
May 12th, 2009

It would seem that Donald Trump is a fan of semi-nude, topless photos taken by his beauty queens because he has just announced in a live press conference that Carrie Prejean WILL keep her Miss California USA crown since, in his judgment, we live in “the 21st century” and, apparently, topless pics of beauty queens are “lovely” and “fine”:

Donald Trump will let Miss California USA Carrie Prejean keep her title despite controversy over semi-nude photos and charges by state pageant officials that she had abandoned her duties to devote time to opposition to same-sex marriage. “We’re in the 21st century,” Trump said, explaining Prejean is a model.

And there you have it. I suspect, barring the release of any new photos, this may be the last we’ll be hearing about Prejean possibly losing her crown. Now she can go back to the biz of taking care of her Miss California USA duties which, supposedly, center on advocating the needs of people with Special Needs. I guess we’ll have to wait and see if that will actually be the case.

  1. Another Donald Says:

What a crock of shit..that girl makes me puke…so holier-than-thou…what a liar! We all can spot that self-righteous bullsh*t a mile away!

  2. Panti Christ Says:

How is this chick’s last name pronounced?

  3. It's Trent, Bitch! Says:

@Panti Christ — pronounced “pree szawn”

  4. wendell Says:

Well I guess Donald Trump is as big an ass as I always thought he was. From what I am reading, she still may lose her Miss California crown. She has clearly violated many, many parts of the contract. What a disgusting liar of a human being. I hope people realize that she has no credibility at all.

  5. Panti Christ Says:

Thanks, Trent :). Sounds awfully exotic for something that is spelled “pre-jean”.

  6. It's Trent, Bitch! Says:

    @Panti Christ — it’s fancy :)

  7. CoCo Says:

I didn’t even know her platform is people with special needs… kind of ironic if you think about it. She wants people with mental and physical disorders to have full rights (which IS a good thing) but not people who are born with a different sexual preference? This girl is just a walking contradiction!

  8. Panti Christ Says:

LOL! sidestory: my good friend went to elementary school with Nick Lachey, and in Cincinnati, Ohio – it’s pronounced “Lay-Chee”. Fancy, indeed!

  9. Winona Says:

Wasn’t she only 17 when these photos were taken? How is underage softcore porn considered “okay”?

  10. apricot Says:

As he should!! I think her persecution by liberal media has been enough punishment.

  11. Beth Says:

@coco–ironic that you are in favor of equal rights for those except those that disagree with your opinions…

  12. cyn Says:

Hmmm, think they saw the new ones that came out today yet? You’d think they’d be less than thrilled with straight up nipple action.

  13. Panti Christ Says:

    @ Beth – what???

  14. CB Says:

@Beth – How, exactly, is coco against equal rights for people who disagree with her? Is this some kind of a riddle? ;-)

  15. CoCo Says:

@Beth- I said it was ironic that she pics and chooses what people are deserving of rights. She has the right to say and think what she wants, but once you take a stand of “human rights,” you shouldn’t pick and choose WHICH humans get these rights.

  16. Kyleigh Says:

I think it’s ironic that there is an ad for Trump Ocean Club running down the sidebar of this post! The Triumph of Trump indeed!

  17. Ally Says:

Wow, another horrible decision from Donald Trump. Color me unsurprised. Don’t put something in a contract unless you expect the person to obey it. And allowing a “role model” who already dropped her standards that low at 17 is pretty bad.

  18. Bob Says:

So now Perez you can be proud of participating in, and spearheading, the same type of witch hunt that Gays in America claim have been waged against them. Does that make you feel better? You make your “living” protected by freedom of speech, but you try to prevent others to practice their own free speech.

Miss Prejean at least carried herself with more class than you. Even other Gay advocates spoke out against your abhorrent and immature behavior. Time to grow up Perez and treat others like you would want to be treated.

  19. Panti Christ Says:

    wierdo^!

  20. Kyleigh Says:

@Bob – um, I think you are on the wrong site, dude! Preaching to the converted here!

  21. Susan Says:

Is anyone else REALLY sick of hearing about this girl? Just another indicator of how trashy the Miss USA pageant is.

  22. erica Says:

just some food for thougt: what kind of example does Trump expect to be setting when the director of Miss California was a playboy playmate(?)

  23. CoCo Says:

@Bob…Hahaha! I also think Perez is an ignorant idiot who doesn’t portray his opinions in an appropriate manner in most instances, but I also think he is conceited enough that he is only looking at his own site… Try telling HIM that. We love TRENT! :)

  24. JJ Says:

Good for you, Miss California, and good for Donald Trump for sticking up for her. Miss Cali had dignity and didn’t back down. Yet another example of the “embrace diversity” crowd not being able to handle people who disagree with them. It’s funny too because people chose not to bring up Obama’s position on this issue (which is exactly the same) when he was running for President.

  25. whatever Says:

Doesn’t anyone realize that President Obama gave the same answer when he was asked that exact question. I don’t understand how we can gloss over his answer, but persecute this girl, whatever her name is….

  26. Janee Says:

This is for everyone who says it’s hypocritical when the director of Miss California is a playboy playmate…. The nude photos AREN’T the controversy. She LIED when she signed the contract; she’s BLATENLY breaking the contract. Trump, well he loves the publicity too bad its costing him his respect. Carrie made her name off of Miss California and she did state her (homophobic) opinion, but when you call Californian citizen’s homes and ask them to sign a petition against gay marriage… welcome to the onslaught. Personally I can’t wait till this girl’s fifteen minutes are up. Even though where I’m from gays and lesbians have the same rights, it truly makes me sad that in 2009 this behavior is still acceptable. (Ps isn’t prejean just like the bush administration, where there’s so much hard evidence but right wing conservatives won’t see reason)

  27. VV Says:

@apricot: in quoting from your bumper book of right-wing talking points, you forgot to mention Bill Clinton! I’m sure he’s at fault as well.

    On a different topic:

    * Topless posing = 21st century
    * Equal marriage for gays (should that have a capital “G”, Bob?) = not?

  28. Gaby Says:

Im glad we have some great role models….one that was a druggy and now a this one…..man I wish I had role models like that when I was growing up…..then maybe I could have grown up to be a druggy and sell nude pics of myself to buy my drugs…….LOL take the crown away already and move to more intresting news like war or something.

  29. sfmom Says:

“The nude photos AREN’T the controversy. She LIED when she signed the contract; she’s BLATENLY breaking the contract.”
Hmmm…this sounds vaguely familiar….although…I remember a different set of players…
    Oh yeah.
    that’s right.
Bill Clinton and the perjury trials. The fact is, libs wouldn’t be up in arms about this girl violating her contract if it weren’t for the fact that she had the stones to say that marriage should be between a man and a woman. Christians wouldn’t be defending her either…and I think they shouldn’t just because she expressed that view. Her posing topless is a violation of the contract and I think she should lose her crown. But I think it’s amusing that ya’ll are only selectively concerned about things like lying and contracts and the law…when it suits your political agenda.

  30. Gaby Says:

Umm people I don’t even think that this matter is concerning what she said about gay rights anymore

  31. Krissy Says:

JJ I don’t know what is dignified about violating a contract. There are NEW pictures out today where she is showing all of her tatas for the cameras, nips and everything. Apparently being “biblically correct” only matters when you are trying to limit the Fundamental Civil Rights of others, and not when you are stripping for money. I disagree with her views on gay marriage, but at the end of the day, she should be dethroned for violating her contract.

I think Trump might have made a big mistake here. The whole competition is about being a good role model, and he is essentially saying his organization now endorses nude modeling.

  32. Chris Says:

I think this ignorant, incoherent bigot’s 15 seconds of fame are up. And people need to stop wah wah-ing that she lost due to her backwards, tyrannical thinking. She lost because she sucked ass and that’s pretty obvious. Those against equality are a dying breed as future generations of society will progress. It’s just unfortunate that we still have to listen to asinine, hateful rhetoric from those who cannot learn from our history’s mistakes.

  33. JJ Says:

People, please don’t act like what you care about is that she supposedly “violated her contract”. The fact is, none of this would be an issue if not for the fact that she spoke out against gay marriage. This isn’t about being “biblically correct”, it’s about her right to freedom of speech.

And I find it hilarious that people are acting like they actually care whether or not she’s a good role model! The majority of people didn’t care that Bill Clinton got a blowjob in the Oval Office but we’re just HORRIFIED that Miss California posed naked.

If you want to call her a hypocrite for posing naked when she professes to be a Christian then please own up to your own hypocrisy.

  34. Kyleigh Says:

    Highlights of the press conference:
-Miss USA ‘relevant”, Miss America sucks
    -posing topless=21st century
    -exceptional beauty excuses extreme ignorance
    -shameless plug for NBC

  35. eiBeauty Says:

I see nothing wrong with going topless and what that has to do with morality. God created our bodies and we shouldn’t be ashamed- in Europe they could care less and neither should we. I personally am all for gay marriage since love is a great thing. She has a right to her small opinion and we are lucky to hear both sides of the coin. Trashing her only makes haters hate more. We should be trying to eradicate the hate and intolerance in the world, not create more excuses to do it!

  36. eiBeauty Says:

Oh, and since when does being Christian have anything to do with posing partially nude or not?

  37. ro Says:

I have to give you kudos. You didn’t go on this attack against her despite the fact that her beliefs are not yours. While you may not agree with hers, you didn’t resort to petty name calling and demand that her crown was taken away. You are so much better than Perez and I think people should realize that.

  38. troyS Says:

It’s not actually about her right to freedom of speech but her ability to comprehend a timely question and articulate a direct, relevant answer and in that she FAILED. In a way though, Perez gave her a trick question because there is no fair, sensible argument against secular government and constitutional equality. CJ proved this once again by side-stepping the question in favor of babbling clumsily about her own personal “morality”. Cool, CJ, you believe in “opposite marriage”, then by all means get yourself one. But um–what does that have to do civil rights?

  39. Janey Says:

The girl stated her opinion. It does not make her a tyrannical, ignorant bigot. She was asked a question, she gave an answer. DEAL WITH IT. She posed semi-nude. BIG DEAL! We see intense pseudo sex scenes on cable TV everyday. Leave her alone! Just because you disagree with her doesn’t make you more intelligent, open-minded, or “cool.” It makes you narrow minded, hateful, and hypocritical. So just shut the hell up. If you have a problem, write her a freaking letter, instead of talking irrelevant shit on a website.

  40. GinaR Says:

Im not surprised. Trump let off another beauty queen who had a problem with drugs. So why wouldn’t he let her off? I didn’t see Prejeans photos so I can’t comment on if they were bad or not.

  41. Karin Says:

@ Winona: Those photos were NOT soft core porn! Come on!!!

I mean if she had gotten approval in the first place, it wouldn’t have been a huge issue! The other contestant had similar pics and no one cares about them because she had approval. I feel sorry for this chick and all the crap in the tabloids. I would NEVER want to be famous, it’s like imprisoning yourself to the paps!

  42. Krissy Says:

JJ, you have basically just admitted that for you, this is a “liberal vs. conservative” hang up, not a discussion about facts. She violated her contract, and you still haven’t found a way to argue around that. You still aren’t over Bill Clinton (and you assume to know what everyones thoughts are on his history)??? Move on, buddy! No one is trying to infringe on her “freedom of speech”…do you know what that actually is? She still has the right and ability to speak her mind, no one is suggesting that get taken away. The only thing in question is whether she speaks her opinion while representing the state of California in a private contest. And yes, she still is a hypocrite.

  43. ally Says:

Whoever is arguing over the Clinton administration… seriously, just stop please. That was almost A DECADE ago. Are you going to go through history and bring up examples of everything you can that may even SLIGHTLY relate to this Carrie Prejean scandal? Politics and this scandal are not relateable, stop trying to make them be. People only bring up politics to stir up more trouble, because then they can blatantly point figures at a group of people (Liberals and Conservatives).
And yes, we DO care that she violated her contract because it completely shows that the pagaent is not about morals anymore. If she violated a rule, she deserves to lose the crown. THAT’S why it matters. Not because it “wouldn’t be such a big deal if she hadn’t made her earlier statements” or whatever was said. Someone breaks the rules, someone should get punished for it. But not Ms. Prejean because she showed Donald Trump pictures of her tits, so she gets a get-out-of-jail free card. That’s sexist and unfair.
Also, this girl just disgusts me because she tries to come off as a sweet, innocent Christian who says she cares SO MUCH about maintaining her Christianity and her Christian views, but it is obvious that behind closed doors she is as sinful as the rest of us. She let the pagaent give her money for a boob job – altering God’s temple doesn’t seem very Christian-like to me, showing off your goods doesn’t seem very Christian-like to me. I’m not a Christian but I understand the religion and I understand that many people who consider themselves one like to “have their cake and eat it too.” Any Christian that you see pose nude or scantily clad or anything will argue that they’re not doing anything sinful, because that’s what makes them feel better about it. You can’t just pick and choose what parts of the religion you want to follow. Prejean disgusts me because she is such a phony, phony little liar, and is obviously shallow. She pretends she’s so innocent, and that is just pathetic to me. Be real, don’t be fake. Then you may deserve the crown.
This is sending out a message to all those who keep track of the pagaent – it’s okay if you f*ck up, lie, have a drug track record, or sell your body, as long as you’re hot and give Trump something to get his jollies off, you’ll get away with anything! It’s just not fair for those who have actually lived clean, good-hearted lives.

  44. Krissy Says:

Janey, your hypocracy cracks me up! Did you realize you were contradicting yourself when you wrote this?

“It makes you narrow minded, hateful, and hypocritical. So just shut the hell up. If you have a problem, write her a freaking letter, instead of talking irrelevant shit on a website.”

  45. Janey Says:

    Krissy,
Note: I don’t have the problem with her. I have a problem with the people on here who are rambling incoherently about how horrible of a person Miss California is. I don’t have a problem with the girl. If I DID have an issue with HER, I would take my own advice and write HER a letter. Seeing as I do not, I made my thoughts known to those I have the issue with, thus NOT making myself a hypocrite.

  46. Krissy Says:

You don’t think that telling others to “shut the hell up” is hateful? You don’t think that you yourself are talking irrelevant stuff on a website?

It is interesting how people can be so passionate about defending a person in regards to a silly contest, and on the other hand can be so frivilous when it comes to denying citizens of the United States fundamental civil rights that actually have serious life altering consequences.

  47. MuDarling Says:

I really don’t think its right for her to keep the crown. I mean she’s in the same position as one Ms. Vanessa Williams who didn’t get to keep her crown. I don’t think it should be a fact that she doesn’t believe in equal rights, I however feel that EVERYONE should have the right to marry who that would like to.
No one should be allowed to tell someone that they can not be with the ones they love. Being that there are so many affairs happening now a days, in straight marriages.
The reason that she should lose her crown is because A. her semi-topless pictures and B. The fact that she hasn’t been doing any of the duties that are asked of her from the Calli department.
(Sorry for the book I wrote)

  48. Ella Says:

I think it’s kind of hilarious that people care about a beauty queen posing topless… so in the swimsuit competition there’s an extra two inches of fabric on her, how much better is it really? I guess she can only be sexual when we want her to be. Even if people are convinced that really what they’re outraged about is the lying… if you’re looking to Miss California to be your beacon of morality, I think you’re the one with a problem. People lie all the time, it’s not worth getting upset over.
I also think it’s hilarious that people think freedom of speech = freedom to say whatever you want without anyone challenging you. She can say what she thinks on gay marriage and no one’s gonna throw her jail, but I can exercise my free speech too and call her a bigot. It’s not hypocritical. It’s all of us stating our opinions freely.

  49. Jessica Says:

I’m sorry, didn’t someone WIN the Miss USA pageant? Oh that’s right it WASN’T Miss California, it was Miss North Carolina. Why are we still talking about Miss California? The girl had an opinion, I don’t agree with it, but she has a right to say what she wants. If she hadn’t been against gay marriage, she probably would have won and no one would ever think of her again. But instead, people who completely disagreed with her have tried to destroy her by getting these pictures out there, extending her 15 minutes of fame.

  50. Krissy Says:

She wouldn’t have won no matter what her answer. The woman who won also won the gown and swimsuit competitions. Miss North Carolina was already in a distant lead before “the question”. :)

  51. Jessica Says:

Haha. “The question”. Thanks for the info. I’m just tired of hearing about Miss California USA. :-)

  52. danielthegreat Says:

AT THE END OF THE DAY, OTHERS HAVE SPECIFICALLY LOST THEIR CROWN BECAUSE OF COMPROMISING PHOTOS…SHE SHOULD NOT HAVE BEEN AN EXCEPTION 21 ST CENTURY OR NOT. ALSO, SHE CLEARLY LIED ABOUT BEING 17 WHEN THEY WERE TAKEN SO THEY WOULD NOT BE LEAKED FOR FEAR OF THEM BEING “CHILD PORNOGRAPHY” YET SHE POSED FOR THEM TO BEGIN WITH AT “17″. IF SHE HADNT ANSWERED THAT QUESTION THAT WAY, WE’D STILL HAVE TO HEAR ABOUT HER PICS AND HER LIES. IF OTHERS ARE IN FACT MORE DESERVING OF THE CROWN, THEN GIVE IT TO THEM. PAGENT GIRLS WORK A GOOD PART OF THEIR LIVES TOWARD TRYING TO GET THAT CROWN AND USUALLY TRY AND SET THE BEST EXAMPLE, SHE IS CLEARLY NOT SOMEONE THAT I WOULD WANT MY DAUGHTER TO EMULATE. SO IN TURN, SHE ISN’T ENTIRELY QUALIFIED TO WEAR THE CROWN…SHE SHOULD HAVE BEEN STRIPPED, PUN INTENDED

  53. Rachel Says:

It makes me sick that this is the kind of crap that is getting put up with today – that my daughter is suppose to look up to a girl whose naked pictures are everywhere (and apparently that’s okay!) but thinks gay people shouldn’t be able to get married. GAG! It’s annoying, tragic and trashy – naked pictures are trashy. And it sucks that it’s made out to be okay. UGH! It just makes me sick that this is who kids are suppose to role model.
