David Beckham, who is currently in Milan, Italy where he has been playing for his new soccer team AC Milan for the past few months, was spotted enjoying a quiet lunch all by his lonesome. With wife/robot Victoria Beckham and sons back here in SoCal, Becks apparently was unable to find a friend to dine with … which left him alone with his trusty iPhone (which is interesting considering Becks has and still is a spokesman for Motorola mobile phones for years):

Ack! It’s criminal that a cutie like Becks has to endure lunching alone but it looks as if his mobile device kept him quite entertained. It’s funny, books used to be the tools that single folks used whenever they ate out alone to deflect assumptions by others that they are lonely and/or friendless — now, mobile phones serve that same purpose. I suppose Becks prolly wanted to dine alone cuz I really doubt he’d have much trouble finding folks to hang out with him. Then again, even the great David Beckham might find that sometimes — just sometimes — there is no one around to hang out with when you’re hungry.
