I hate this argument because it’s like, well just because they are taking part of their time to write about you doesn’t mean that they don’t spend any of their time worrying about bigger issues. Clay obviously has time to worry about American Idol and Adam Lamber and blog, so Clay, what if you “only took the time to worry about the US economy and the welfare of the world’s children.”

@Everette – I don’t even watch AI, have NEVER heard Adam sing, and have could care less who won. Clay, however, had egotistical, classless and bitter words towards Adam. Trent is simply observing Clay’s attitude towards AI and its contestants. Homosexuality has nothing to do Clay’s attitude with AI.
And using “gay” as an alternative word for “Extremely lame” and “stupid”? Grow up. Buy a thesaurus,

Since Adam is a very seasoned stage performer (didn’t they say that he’d been working in musical theater since he was a little kid), he must have a very thick skin about this sort of thing. I hated his Ring of Fire performance too. It was horrible. Simon Cowell thought so too. And Adam LAUGHED at Simon. He must be laughing again too. He’s not crying in the corner because meany Aiken didn’t like his one song.

I see nothing wrong with what Clay said, especially as it wasn’t some big rant on a PUBLIC forum. But I give him even more props for apologising to Adam.

I love both Adam AND Clay, but they are such different artists. Anyone wanna bet that Adam hates Clay’s music too? :)

I appreciated what Clay originally blogged about. I half wonder if he is responding to that National Enquirer story that made the rounds about him wanting to do a duets album with Adam. If he wanted that to happen, then his rep would contact Adam’s rep — isn’t that how it usually works in Hollywood?

If Clay’s at his 15.2 minutes on the fame clock, then he should have been “done” 6 years ago. I loved his bit with Elvis Costello on 30 Rock last week. That was great.

I always take issue with this argument…the “I was misinterpreted, that was taken out of context” argument. Even if he did post something in his “members only” section, ummm, it’s still the world wide web and once you put your thoughts out there aren’t people free to interpret your opinions as they so choose?

Anyway, props to you, Clay, for apologizing to Adam although he is right that it really doesn’t matter.
