You guys cant keep saying that it’s only going this way cause he’s a celeb. Ive read many cases in the news paper of “normal” people getting a lighter sentence or off because of leaked information & pictures. find me one person who hasnt seen the pics – its gunna be hard to find a unbiased jury.

Kristin and others -Actually domestic violence hardly ever gets harsh penalties and it’s not just celebrities. Normally, abusers get probation and if they do get a sentence, it’s almost always less than six months.

this is just bull shizzz!! Chris Brown pleading not guilty is like Courtney Love saying she’s perfectly sane. This guy is a piece of crap and not much of a man at all, he should accept the consequences of his horrible actions that he leashed upon Rihanna and its pretty cowardly that he is trying to get off on the fact that a photo was leaked, he still beat the shit out of a woman, and it was just a photo, how is that in any way really going to effect the case, I’m sure there are millions of people that don’t have a clue who this scum bag is that could be used for a jury…this is just sick and another example of the way celebrities get special treatment ….

I really hope he doesn’t get off scott free, that wouldn’t be fair. If he gets let go because he won the case that’s one thing but he should at least have to fight for his rights. I think it would be total crap if he was allowed to just walk away after what he did, that’s really just not cool, bottom line.

I was hoping he would just fall off the face of the earth. I also think if his lawyers get him entirely off the hook, it will make him look even worse in the eyes of the public, by not taking any responsibility at all for his actions. I think having a little bit of accountability and some kind of punishment would be better for his career and peoples perception of him than trying to get out of it. Of course Rihanna isn’t doing much to help the case. I quit feeling sorry her a long time ago, because she doesn’t seem to care that she was used as a punching bag.

While I agree that he has the right to a fair trial, it is difficult to pin the blame on the police department for the leaking of the photo, anyone with access to police department computers could have placed the picture on the internet. That being said, it is important that Chris Brown realizes that he needs to own up to what he has done. If I was the district attorney I would make a motion to have the trial be done before a Judge only and closed to the public until a ruling is put on place. I don’t think that Chris Brown should be made into an example, however I don’t agree that he should get off without any form of punishment. Lawyers get paid to get their clients little to no sentences for crimes, but i think in this case the lawyers are a bit overzealous, and unfortunately for Chris Brown in the court of public opinion he has been found guilty… he may not have a career after this. I for one am on the side of justice for victims not for the criminals, and ultimately whatever the court does decide to do we, have to accept whether we agree or not.

If the photo is no good evidence (‘cough’), why don’t they look at Brown’s hands or something?
When my stepfather hit my mom, and broke her nose, his hands were purple!!! Also, his watch showed that there was an actual hit.
However…The juries said that he had to protect himself (ha-ha!) and he was free after all. Nobody said that this was wrong or something…But that’s life.

Legally, the police conduct does matter. He’s entitled to a fair trial, and honestly, with that photo leaking, it’s unlikely that he could get a juror who could be unbiased. There’s a big chance that this could get dismissed.
