Candy Spelling Blames Tori Spelling For Aaron Spelling’s Death
Yikes! As if the animosity between Candy Spelling (mother) and Tori Spelling (daughter) wasn’t already bad enough, Candy had to go and lob another accusation/attack on Tori in a new radio interview this week wherein mother publicly blamed her daughter for the death of TV producer/mogul Aaron Spelling (Candy’s husband, Tori’s father). Now, I like me a family feud as much as the next person (OK, I really don’t … but up until now the Candy vs. Tori thing has been marginally amusing) but this seems to be taking things a bit too far. It wasn’t that long ago that Candy Spelling released one of her famous “open letters” to daughter Tori pleading for a reconciliation … but Tori refused. Clearly, that didn’t sit well with Candy … hence, these new comments blaming Tori for Aaron’s death. Damn. And I bet you thought your family had issues:
Everybody knows Candy and Tori Spelling had a beef, but now moms is taking the family feud to a whole new level of nasty. Appearing on a Massachusetts radio station Thursday to pimp her new book, Stories from Candyland, Candy Spelling not just bad-mouthed her 90210-starring spawn, but went so far as to blame husband Aaron Spelling’s demise on her estranged daughter. “My daughter one day decided that she wasn’t speaking to my husband, myself and my son and that’s how it’s continued for the last, oh gosh, four or five years,” Candy said to 94.7 WMAS-FM’s Kellogg Krew. “And it was sad, that’s what killed my husband actually. He just didn’t want to live after that. He has just done everything he could possibly do for his daughter and she wanted no part of him once he couldn’t do anything for her.” The über-producer died June 23, 2006, following a stroke; angst was not listed as the official cause of death. Candy says that while both women have paid lip service in interviews about reconnecting, there has been no such luck thus far. “I’ve always been trying to work on the relationship. I don’t know what the anger is.” Call it a hunch, but maybe it has something to do with the accusations of patricide. We’ve been trying to get reps for Tori and Candy on the horn, but so far nada.
This is about as low as low-blows go. It’s one thing to launch personal attacks on someone else (tho, it’s pretty sad when those attacked are leveled at your own flesh and blood) but to publicly blame your daughter for the death of her father is just … shitty. I used to think that Candy was a spitfire but this is just a really crappy thing to say about your daughter. Something tells me that a reconciliation between these two grown, adult women now has an even greater likelihood of never happening … ever. I do feel bad for Tori Spelling tho … it must be really terrible to hear these sorts of attacks coming from one’s own mother. The late Joan Crawford ain’t got nothing on the Mommie Dearestness of Candy Spelling.

gosh that’s just awful. and when tori hears what her mom said, that’s just going to kill her. she’s probably beating herself up for not talking to her dad and then it was too late, but now to have her own mother accuse her of being the reason her father passed… that’s gotta make a person feel too worse for words. i feel bad for tori.

It shows what a horrible woman Candy Spelling is. And I can’t blame Tori for not speaking to her. Why would you want someone like that in your life? Candy Spelling is disgusting to say that. She has spent her whole life being jealous of her daughter. How pathetic! I hope Tori doesn’t read this but I’m sure she will hear about it. What an awful thing to say…I feel bad she has such a awful mother.

my mom said the same thing to me when my dad passed away i am a military wife and i we were living in germany and i could not get to the us in time to tell him goodbye to this day my mom and i do not speak nor do i speak to any of my family including my daughter as they all took her side how is that for miLITARY support tori hang in there you do not need her

This is shiteous! Tori has said time and time again on her reality show that she regret the sitution between her and her dad and how much she misses him and for her to say something like this is LOW, and yet she still doesnt believe that she is in the wrong it just makes me think that the situation between her and tori is faaarrr worse than tori makes it out to be. To be honest she [ tori ] is better off without her mom and its sad bcuz there is little children involved i.e. her grandchildren whom she might not b able to see after this! R.I.P Aaron Spelling!

4 or 5 years? It took 4 or 5 years of Tori not speaking to her family before her father passed away? The man was in his 80’s so I think maybe old age could have been what he actually died of. This is the lowest of blows and I can see why Tori has nothing to do with her mother.

That’s pretty crazy. I think Candy clearly has some issues and I wouldn’t be surprised if she was the terrible mother Tori says she was, but I think Tori really plays up this feud for the publicity. I read both of her books and watch her reality show. Watch the season premiere and just try and count how many times she brings up her mother. Not trying to dog on Tori…I think she’s funny and find her very entertaining but in my opinion, if she really just wanted to move past all the BS with her mom she’d stop responding at all.

I totally side with candy-get real people -toris homely ,goofy,money grubbing, attention seeking, no talent of a husband seems to want her to be apart from her mother. ITs pathetic !! poor rich girl tori does not see the writing on the wall. He is no good-no doubt candy sees the same thing. The whole corney “momma” “T” and whatever else nickname that insecure moron gives her makes my skin crawl. I was forced to watch the show one night when nothing else was on-could not believe how immature the two of them were. How humiliating for candy !!!
