ABC Releases A Trailer For ‘V’
"The world is in bad shape ... who wouldn't welcome a Savior right now?"

SQUEEEEEEEEE! Yesterday we learned the amazing news that ABC has officially picked up the remake of the 80′s sci-fi TV series V as a mid-season replacement next season. We also got to see two short clips of footage from the new series which stars, among others, Elizabeth Mitchell from Lost. Today, we get to see the FULL LENGTH trailer for V which gives a very nice overview of the series plotline and even offers a glimpse of what the Visitors are really up to. Here are a few screencaps from this new trailer:

ABC has released this full new preview of “V,” which is a re-imagining of the 1980′s miniseries about the world’s first encounter with an alien race in which the aliens call themselves The Visitors, and have a seemingly friendly agenda that may or may not be a cover for something more malevolent. “V” stars Elizabeth Mitchell as Erica Evans, Morris Chestnut as Ryan Nichols, Joel Gretsch as Father Jack Landry, Lourdes Benedicto as Valerie Stevens, Logan Huffman as Tyler Evans, Laura Vandervoort as Lisa, with Morena Baccarin as Anna and Scott Wolf as Chad Decker.

OMG OMG OMG OMG … I AM SO LOVING THIS! Yes, the trailer gives a quick look at the Visitors‘ secret. I am so excited for this series, I really wish it wasn’t scheduled as a mid-season replacement cuz I dunno that I can really wait until NEXT YEAR to watch this show. After the jump, check out the 3 minute trailer in full …

As far as I can recall, it looks like all the major plot points have been kept intact in this new version. I’m sure there will be some changes but it really does look like the spirit of the original series will live in this new incarnation. I remember the first scenes of the original TV movie that showed the Visitors‘ ships arriving on Earth … this new reimagining brought back those pangs of fear that I felt when I was a kid. I am loving everything we’re being shown from this new version of V. I really hope it’s not too long before we get to see more. Wouldn’t it be great if ABC aired a preview ep sometime this Summer? Mebbe someone out there can make that happen ;)

Oh wow! That looks really great! I know I’ll be watching! Morena Baccarin looks really creepy/pretty as Anna :)

  4. Jaks17 says:

V used to creep me out so much when I was little. I remember it was on Friday nights!

I was skeptical of the series when you posted information yesterday. I loved the show as a kid, but it didn’t seem to age well when I saw it a few years ago. That being said, the tralier does look very promising, and Elizabeth Mitchell looks like she can carry this show very well. I am definitely looking forward to it!

Do we know if there will be a “Willie” character? He was so darn likable back then. It always humored me that Robert Englund played the cutest, most likable character on TV…and then went on to become Freddy Krueger.

Next up for nostalgic TV re-make: “Alien Nation”

    This looks so freaking awesome!!!!!!!!!!!

  8. Whitney says:

Okay, quick question? I know Elizabeth Mitchell is potentially dead on LOST and we won’t know the answer for another 8 months or so, but I am guessing this confirms it? She seems like a regular on this series. If she is done with LOST, I am really going to miss her character on the show. I was kind of hoping she would stay for the last season. This series, V, looks great and I am glad I can see her on TV some more, but is anyone else kind of bummed that we most likely are not going to see her next season on LOST?

  9. Meghan says:

I think we might still see Elizabeth Mitchell on Lost. Either via flashback w/Sawyer or she may be alive, but in a different timeline where she never met the Losties. Either way she wouldn’t be a major character and we wouldn’t see her much.

  10. Kat says:

Very cool. And Elizabeth Mitchell is perfect casting. Can’t wait…

  11. joey says:

that looks AWESOME!!!!!!!!!!! I really hope that it goes on for a couple of seasons

  12. RazberrySwurl01 says:

I never watched V but this show looks amazing!!!! I will be tunning in or sure.

  13. Deb says:

@Scott: Haha, I’d forgotten about Willie! And now RE is typecast as a psychopathic monster. Odd how things turn out, huh? But I’m really looking forward to this. Aside from the beautiful production (how much money did this cost? The economic crisis hasn’t hit hollywood, it seems), it looks heart-stoppingly exciting. It scared the crap out of me when I was young, and it looks set to thrill me again!

  14. Pandora says:

I loved this in the 80′s (so dating myself there) but this is going to be epic!

  15. Libby says:

Looks awesome. Definitely excited for this one…and I love Elizabeth Mitchell as well.

  16. Kerri says:

WOWZERS. Way looking forward to this. LOVE LOVE LOVE these kinds of shows. Anyone think it’ll screen in NEW ZEALAND!? I’m guessing no. Arrgh massive fail if it doesn’t. Sending a question out there.. Who would you be? The people that trust them or the people that don’t?

  17. Jason says:

it’s just a replacement tv show for The 4400.
