Harlow Winter Kate Richie-Madden Makes Her Television Debut

Joins mama Nicole and grandpappy Lionel on 'Larry King Live'
Saturday, May 30th, 2009

Earlier this week we saw photos of Nicole Richie carrying in her baby daughter Harlow Winter to do a pre-taped appearance on Larry King Live. Nicole appeared on the show (which aired last night on CNN) with her father Lionel (who was promoting his new album) and I guessed wrongly that little Harlow would not be on the show … not so. Harlow did make a wee appearance on the show to say hello to the television viewing audience:

OMG … she is SO CUTE … totally adorable. When Larry says hello to her she waves back with her fingers!! Cute! Nicole brought Harlow out for the last portion of the interview, when she was talking about the Richie-Madden Children’s Foundation. After the jump, check out the full video of Lionel, Nicole and Harlow’s appearance on the Larry King Live show …

First Look: Kristin Cavallari’s Introduction On ‘The Hills’

The HBIC arrives
Saturday, May 30th, 2009

Earlier this week we saw photos of Kristin Cavallari and other castmembers of The Hills filming the first scenes for the new season of the show where Kristin takes over as protagonist on the show (in the wake of Lauren LC Conrad’s departure) … but right now we get our first look at Kristin’s introduction on the show. As you may recall, a few weeks ago we learned that KC was a guest at Heidi Montag and Spencer Pratt’s wedding (which was filmed for the show) and her appearance at the wedding turns out to be her introduction to the show. MTV has released a short vid of Kristin’s intro which will be featured on the season finale of The Hills which will air on MTV tomorrow night:

LMAO!!! I swear to the gods, I love his shizz. I haven’t been this energized about The Hills in eons. Having Kristin on the show as the main chick is gonna RULE … but, I’ve been saying that all along. Let’s just watch this preview clip, shall we? After the jump, check it out …

Chace Crawford Does ‘In Style’ Magazine

"It's not about physicality, it's about how a person carries herself"
Saturday, May 30th, 2009

Earlier this month we learned that the middle Jonas brother, Joe, was featured in the new issue of In Style magazine (you may recall that he revealed his celebrity crush to be Daniel Craig) and today we learn that star of Gossip Girl and the upcoming Footloose remake, Chace Crawford, is also featured in the mag. Here are a couple of Chace’s sexy In Style pics and the full text of his mini-interview:

“I don’t go to a bar looking for a blonde. although I have friends who do that. It’s not about physicality, it’s about how a person carries herself.”

Hair apparent: As Gossip Girl’s Nate Archibald, Crawford personifies prep-school hot with those chiseled cheekbones and cerulean eyes peeking out from under side-swept bangs. A real-life good guy with a pretty-boy face, he’s the Andrew McCarthy for the new teen set.

French connection: For Crawford, sexy goes way beyond looks and can be found anywhere from a Kings of Leon bass line to the City of Light. “There’s something about walking the streets of Paris,” he says. “The people, the language, the late-night dinner.”

All in day’s work: “It’s fun.” Leighton Meester has said of the on-camera kisses she shares with Crawford on the Gossip Girl set. “He’s sooo cute, so it’s definitely not hard!”

Chace’s Celebrity Crush: Ellen Page

Chace is a cutie but it still remains to be seen if he can adequately fill Kevin Bacon’s very big shoes when he takes on the remake of Footloose later on this year. As for this interview, meh, he didn’t really give us much meat to gnaw on. It’s a shame that he, too, didn’t list Daniel Craig as his celebrity crush … that would’ve explained so much ;)

Happy To Be In HockeyTown

The TV Guide
Saturday, May 30th, 2009

Much of yesterday was spent on a plane from LA to Detroit but David and I made the most of it. I was able to watch the entire original miniseries, V from 1983 on my iPhone and was pleasantly reminded how amazing it really was:

I was only 9 years old when the original miniseries aired on TV and I remember loving every second of it. It scared the hell out of me but also really entertained. Even the limited special effects of the early 80’s cannot diminish this great story. I had forgotten how V was the first time I learned about the Jewish holocaust … watching it again after all these years, I was still moved by the brave Jewish characters in this miniseries. While the overall story is about alien invasion, at the heart of the tale is the struggle for freedom. Not to sound hokey but I did learn a lot of lessons from V when it aired back in 1983. I’m planning on watching V: The Final Battle on the plane ride home. Now, I’m even more anxious to see what the new version of V, scheduled to air on ABC sometime next season, will look like.

Upon our arrival, Sarah and Mark picked us up and we made our way to Little Tree in Royal Oak for dinner … and then we decided to swing by my old haunt City Club for a drink and a dance. While the place is not nearly as crowded as it used to be in its hey day, it was still very fun going “home” again. I love that place. I’m glad we had the chance to visit.

TONIGHT … is the big night. Mark and I are going to the Joe Louis Arena for Game 1 of the Stanley Cup Finals where the Detroit Red Wings will take on the Pittsburgh Penguins for the Stanley Cup:

This is the same match-up as the Stanley Cup Finals from last year … I’m really hoping that Detroit is able to pull out a win again just like they did last year :) Go Wings!!! After the game, we’re meeting up with friends at Connie and Jess’s for a little wine party soiree … I can’t wait!! It’s really great being back home in Detroit Rock City.

Prince Harry Makes First Official Visit To The US

Visits the colony great State of New York
Saturday, May 30th, 2009

Prince Harry, the youngest son of the late Princess Diana and heir to the throne Prince Charles of Wales, arrived in NYC yesterday on his first official visit to the United States of America. Prince Harry spent part of the first day of his visit paying his respects at Ground Zero (the site of the former World Trade Center twin towers that were attacked on September 11, 2001) before moving on to various other locales for other activities. Here are a few pics of his Royal hotness at different stops along the way on his first visit to NYC yesterday:

Prince Harry, the younger son of Britain’s Prince Charles and Princess Diana, offered his condolences to September 11 victims Friday in his first official trip overseas. Harry’s two-day visit to New York, surrounded by public officials and community activists, could reflect a change in a public image that has been marred by several incidents, including a one-day stint in drug rehab in 2002 and accusations of racism in January. At the outset of his visit, Harry stopped at ground zero with New York Gov. David Paterson and briefly talked with family members of September 11 victims. The prince then laid a wreath at the World Trade Center site and bowed his head in a moment of silence. He left a handwritten note tacked to the wreath, citing an “admiration of the courage shown by the people” of New York on September 11, 2001. Harry later paid tribute to his fellow citizens at Lower Manhattan’s British Garden at Hanover Square, where he honored the 67 British victims of the September 11 attacks, officials said. Harry’s trip will also take him uptown to the Harlem Children’s Zone, where he and Prince Seeiso of Lesotho hope to learn how the nonprofit has succeeded in supporting children in the low-income area, officials said. Following the example of his mother, Harry will use this trip to promote his own charity for children, Sentebale. Co-founded with Lesotho’s prince, the charity supports children in the sub-Saharan country who lost parents to AIDS. Also on Harry’s agenda is a meeting with veterans of the Iraq and Afghan wars, officials said. Harry, 24, served for two months in Afghanistan as a Coalition Forces soldier in 2007. The third in line for the British crown, Harry is active in the British Army. He received a promotion to lieutenant in April 2008 and is training for an Army Air Corps pilot position, according to the prince’s Web site.

While Harry was all biz in NYC yesterday, he will get some playtime today on Day 2 of his official visit to NYC. At the start of today, Harry will spend time at Harlem Children’s Zone (which is an organization that offers families social and educational aid) and he will be accompanied by Sentebale’s co-founder, Prince Seeiso of Lesotho. Then, later on today, the young prince will play in a charity polo match, The Veuve Cliquot Manhattan Polo Classic, on Governor’s Island in NY harbor in order to raise money for the US branch of his Sentebale charity. I understand that a great many New Yorkers are very excited to attend this polo event to watch Prince Harry play. It’s strange to think that this is Harry’s first official visit to NYC … but I guess if you think about it, as a Prince of England, he really must occupy all of his time with British affairs. I hope Prince Harry enjoys his time on this side of the pond. I know that we are very happy to host him :)
