The Jude’stache Is Dunzo!

Peace the Spork Out!
Friday, May 29th, 2009

Sad news for fans of the Jude’stache (that hairy piece of cuteness that took up residence on Jude Law’s upper lip for the months he filmed scenes for the new Guy Ritchie-directed film Sherlock Holmes wherein Law plays the role of the dutiful sidekick Dr. Watson to the super sleuth) … it is no more. Jude was spotted out and about on the streets of London, England this week and he was, sadly, without facial hair … behold:

Sad face. I suppose it is to be expected … I guess we’ve always known deep down in our hearts that the Jude’stache would not be with us forever. Tho we dared to dream, alas, it has departed and left this mortal realm for sweet silence of oblivion. Sigh. I suppose there is a chance that the Jude’stache might, one day, return … after all, Ritchie might order up some reshoots for Sherlock Holmes that would compel, nay, require Jude Law to grow back the Jude’stache. But, until that time (should it ever come), we’ll just have to content ourselves with the sweet memories that the Jude’stache has left us with. Ah … but that I had a lock of hair from that sweet, now departed, friend to hold close to my bosom in sweet reverent remembrance. Again, I say, Sigh. May flights of angels wing you to your eternal destination. Peace the Spork Out, Jude’stache … you will be sorely missed.

Candy Spelling Blames Tori Spelling For Aaron Spelling’s Death

Mommie Dearest
Friday, May 29th, 2009

Yikes! As if the animosity between Candy Spelling (mother) and Tori Spelling (daughter) wasn’t already bad enough, Candy had to go and lob another accusation/attack on Tori in a new radio interview this week wherein mother publicly blamed her daughter for the death of TV producer/mogul Aaron Spelling (Candy’s husband, Tori’s father). Now, I like me a family feud as much as the next person (OK, I really don’t … but up until now the Candy vs. Tori thing has been marginally amusing) but this seems to be taking things a bit too far. It wasn’t that long ago that Candy Spelling released one of her famous “open letters” to daughter Tori pleading for a reconciliation … but Tori refused. Clearly, that didn’t sit well with Candy … hence, these new comments blaming Tori for Aaron’s death. Damn. And I bet you thought your family had issues:

Everybody knows Candy and Tori Spelling had a beef, but now moms is taking the family feud to a whole new level of nasty. Appearing on a Massachusetts radio station Thursday to pimp her new book, Stories from Candyland, Candy Spelling not just bad-mouthed her 90210-starring spawn, but went so far as to blame husband Aaron Spelling’s demise on her estranged daughter. “My daughter one day decided that she wasn’t speaking to my husband, myself and my son and that’s how it’s continued for the last, oh gosh, four or five years,” Candy said to 94.7 WMAS-FM’s Kellogg Krew. “And it was sad, that’s what killed my husband actually. He just didn’t want to live after that. He has just done everything he could possibly do for his daughter and she wanted no part of him once he couldn’t do anything for her.” The über-producer died June 23, 2006, following a stroke; angst was not listed as the official cause of death. Candy says that while both women have paid lip service in interviews about reconnecting, there has been no such luck thus far. “I’ve always been trying to work on the relationship. I don’t know what the anger is.” Call it a hunch, but maybe it has something to do with the accusations of patricide. We’ve been trying to get reps for Tori and Candy on the horn, but so far nada.

This is about as low as low-blows go. It’s one thing to launch personal attacks on someone else (tho, it’s pretty sad when those attacked are leveled at your own flesh and blood) but to publicly blame your daughter for the death of her father is just … shitty. I used to think that Candy was a spitfire but this is just a really crappy thing to say about your daughter. Something tells me that a reconciliation between these two grown, adult women now has an even greater likelihood of never happening … ever. I do feel bad for Tori Spelling tho … it must be really terrible to hear these sorts of attacks coming from one’s own mother. The late Joan Crawford ain’t got nothing on the Mommie Dearestness of Candy Spelling.

Kristin Cavallari & Brody Jenner Film New Scenes For ‘The Hills’

The ex-lovers are now new co-stars
Friday, May 29th, 2009

Well, well now … it looks like MTV is trying to cook up some serious drama for the next season of The Hills. As we already know, Laguna Beach: The Real Orange County alum Kristin Cavallari is taking over as the HBIC on The Hills (in the wake of Lauren LC Conrad’s departure from the show) and she and the cast began filming scenes for the new season this week. Longtime fans might remember that Kristin and Brody Jenner used to date in the time before Brody was even on The Hills … so they’ve got a long history. Brody is now with Playboy Playmate Jayde Nicole who has had to defend her relationship with Brody against fellow Hills castmember Audrina Patridge, who tried to bed Brody in a recent ep of the show. Now that Kristin is on the show, Jayde’s got a lot more to be worried about. Here are pics of Kristin and Brody filming scenes together yesterday — alone — here in SoCal for an upcoming ep of The Hills. Might they be rekindling their old romance for the show?

HMMM … while it’s possible that Kristin may re-hook-up with Brody on the show, I understand that she might be paired up with Justin Bobby as well — much to Audrina’s chagrin, I’m sure. Isn’t it nice to know that a girl has options? Whatever the case may be, whether she hooks-up with one or both of these guys, I can’t WAIT to watch the drama unfold on the show for myself. Might they even bring out Stephen Colletti again? I am so excited for Kristin’s return to TV. These pics are a great tease for the coming season … I hope we get to see more as the Summer unfolds.

Britney Spears Films New Music Video For ‘Radar’

Reunites with video director Dave Meyers
Friday, May 29th, 2009

Britney Spears and her manager Adam Leber have updated fans on their official Twitter profiles that production has begun on her newest music video for her single Radar. Britney/Adam tweeted on day one of the shoot and then updated that music video director Dave Meyers (who directed Britney’s video for her song Lucky way back in 2000) is helming the project. Woot! Here are a couple pics of Britney with her able and loving assistant Felicia Culotta on the SoCal set of the Radar music video yesterday and the full text of Britney’s tweets about the vid:

Day one Radar video shoot… Dave Meyers is directing my Radar video- it’s going to be sick!

While the “sick”ness of the music video has yet to be determined, I’m pretty sure that Meyers was very happy to come back and do another music video for our dear Britney. It is also very cool seeing Felicia around Britney again … she’s kinda been out of sight the entire time that Britney was on tour these past few months but I understand that she was always with Britney behind the scenes. I’m not sure that I’m feeling her bangs in this photo but … well, that’s neither here nor there. It’s unclear if the tractor in the pics is a prop for the video or Britney was doing some cultivating in between shooting scenes but … I suppose all will be revealed when the video debuts next month.
