This week we’ve seen some pretty fab photos from the Italian set of The Twilight Saga: New Moon. There’s been some lovin’ and some shirtlessness … but today, we get to see some action. Yeah, I know these new pics aren’t quite as exciting as the ones we’ve seen already this week but, c’mon, they gotta save some of the good stuff for when the movie actually comes out. Here are pics of Kristen Stewart and Robert Pattinson filming one of the epic scenes from New Moon in a public square in Montepulciano, Italy:

This might be the last of the Italian set pics that we’ll get to see for at least a short while … both Rob and Kristen will be making their way to SoCal for the 2009 MTV Movie Awards where they will be presenting the first footage from New Moon live on the show. I know many of you are really anxious to see some of this footage. The MTV Movie Awards airs on MTV this Sunday night … you want some new New Moon action, then you know where you’ll have to be.

It would seem that reports of the dunzoness of Marilyn Manson and Evan Rachel Wood have been greatly exaggerated … or, perhaps, the couple realized that they just couldn’t live without one another. Here are pics of the happy couple together again in London, England this week were MM has been doing some promo for the release of his new album The High End of Low:

HMMM … you may recall that Page Six reported that MM and ERW got back together in February but since the couple were never seen together, I kinda discounted the report. Perhaps they were right all along. I really don’t understand that ERW sees in MM … she could really do so much better, I think. Ah well … I guess true love is blind. The kickass BBC America sci-fi series Torchwood is back for a third season this July and the network has just released a new teaser trailer to get fans pumped up for the new season:

It’s been called the new “Buffy the Vampire Slayer” in that the characters and storylines are very similar in supernatural awesomeness to the Joss Whedon masterpiece. In fact, James Marsters (who played Spike in BtVS and Angel) had a role in Torchwood last season. Will he return for more this coming season? Season 3 of the series has been subtitled, Children of Earth … which conjures up all sorts of ominous images in my head. On Wednesday we learned that Lady Gaga is featured on the cover of Rolling Stone’s Hot List issue for 2009 but she is not the only “hot” person/thing featured in the mag. Joseph Gordon-Levitt has been chosen as the Hot Actor, Bat for Lashes has been chosen as the Hot Singer, Rupert Grint (who plays Ron Weasley in the Harry Potter films) has been chosen as the Hot Sidekick and the LA band Silversun Pickups has been chosen as the Hot Band. Here are some pics of these hot folks as featured in the mag:

Joseph Gordon-Levitt has been a hot actor for some time but it seems like folks are finally waking up to the fact that he rules … here’s hoping his stint in G.I. Joe: The Rise of Cobra doesn’t undo all of the hard work he’s done over the years. Bat for Lashes has to be one of the most exciting new artists to burst on the scene. While Lady Gaga is trying really hard to stand out and be different, Bat for Lashes is actually standing out and being wonderfully different. Her album rules. Rupert Grint is really a very cool sidekick for Daniel Radcliffe’s Harry Potter, as anyone familiar with the movies should know. He really brings Ron Weasley to life. You can click HERE to read Rolling Stone’s thoughts on his awesome sidekickness. After The Oohlas (who are my fave LA band), I’d have to pick the Silversun Pickups as my second fave band. They are so the Mazzy Star/The Sundays alternarock band of the times. I’ve loved every song they’ve ever written … their sound hearkens back to my shoegaze youth and makes the experience feel new all over again. Rolling Stone doesn’t always get the “hot” things right every year but this time, they’ve picked a few winners. Kudos for them for finally gettin’ their fingers on the pulse.

Much of yesterday was spent running around the house trying to get the place in order while we furiously packed for our week-long trip to Detroit, MI that starts this afternoon. Because it was our dear friend Darion’s birthday, David and I paused from our franticness to meet up with him and Kirsten for dinner at XIV for a 12-course meal to celebrate Darion’s Golden Birthday (he turned 28 on the 28th). Here is a pic of us at the restaurant last night:

Last night’s visit to XIV was the first for both Darion and Kirsten and they loved it … we all did … up until the 10th, 11th and 12th courses showed up and then we hated our lives. We kept eating but we still hated our lives ;) It was really fun. Darion will be continuing his birthday extravaganza all weekend long … it pains me to be missing out.

But … Detroit, here we come!! We leave for the airport this afternoon and will arrive in Detroit early enough to go out tonight. Tomorrow, Mark and I will be attending Game 1 of the Stanley Cup Finals at Joe Louis Arena to cheer on the Red Wings and then Sunday is our second Nine Inch Nails concert … and the week carries on from there. It’ll be good to be back in the Motor City … I’ve missed it. So … I’ll be comin’ atcha from the Midwest all week long starting tomorrow — holler!

Levi Johnston, the Alaskan teen who got semi-famous last Summer after he got the teenage/unwed daughter of Alaska governor Sarah Palin pregs while Palin was running for Vice President of the United States of America, is featured in the pages of the new issue of GQ magazine. Shirtless and in daddy-mode, Johnston poses in his first photoshoot for a major publication and talks to the mag about his life with the Palins and his subsequent expulsion from their presence. Here is a beefcakey photo of Levi changing his son Tripp in all his shirtless glory (er, both of them):

I took the liberty of covering up baby Tripp’s genitals mainly cuz the kid’s gonna have enough embarrassing drama in his life already … why add fuel to the little guy’s fire? To be quite honest, I didn’t read his entire GQ article … cuz it goes on for 17 pages! I did skim it tho and there is a lot of information. The mag tried to put a Biblical spin on the tale (using Biblical language, most likely cuz the guy’s name is Levi) and goes into great length about Johnston’s life … and bear hunting skills. To be honest, it reads as if GQ knows that no other publication will ever tell his tale … ever … so they are trying to cover as much ground as possible. It should come as no surprise that it wasn’t the interview/article that drew my attention … but why Levi decided to post shirtless with his child in a men’s magazine, I’ll never know.
