Yikes!! As if Courtney Love didn’t already have enough problems of her own (you know, with language and stuff) … today we learn that C. Love has been sued by American Express for her failure to pay an outstanding balance in excess of $350,000! I mean … wow. While I’m sure that a great many of us have hand to endure carrying huge credit card debt at one time or another (you don’t even want to know what my college years were like), I cannot imagine what it must feel like to owe someone over a quarter of a million dollars … with interest! Yikes!!

American Express Co wants Courtney Love to leave home without it. The financial services firm sued the musician in Los Angeles on Wednesday, alleging she owes more than $350,000 in unpaid charges and other fees on her AmEx Gold card. The lawsuit, filed in U.S. District Court, seeks $352,059.67 for the unpaid balance, damages, attorney’s fees and late charges, and says Love’s charging privileges were suspended after she “failed and refused” to make payments. Love’s publicist said he had no immediate information on the suit, and had left a message with her attorney. Love, the 44-year-old widow of late Nirvana frontman Kurt Cobain, is a litigation magnet. She was sued for libel in February by a fashion designer upset by comments Love had reportedly made about her on the micro-blogging Web site Twitter. Last year, Love was sued for $1 million by an advisory firm seeking its share of proceeds from Love’s partial sale of Nirvana’s publishing catalog. The deal, covering such Nirvana tunes as “Smells Like Teen Spirit” and “Lithium,” was reportedly worth $19.5 million. Cobain killed himself in 1994.

If memory (and my deciphering skills) serves, I believe Courtney has addressed this credit card issue a few times on her official My Space blog. It is her assertion, I believe, that other people have used her name and social security number to open credit card accounts in her name and have run up these bills without her consent or knowledge … well, until the unpaid credit amounts have gotten so large. She has also blamed some of this credit card drama on Ryan Adams (yes, the singer who just married Mandy Moore) for some reason or another but because her rants are generally so incomprehensible, it’s difficult to know exactly what her argument is. If she truly has been the victim of credit card fraud, then I’m with her on the non-payment. That said … getting sued by AmEx for such a large sum of money would freak me the eff out. Something tells me that C. Love doesn’t scare easily tho (nor is she a shrinking violet) … if I were AmEx, I wouldn’t go counting my settlement payment from her just yet.

Awww … they are so cute! Matilda looks so much like her father, it’s uncanny. While the sad loss of Heath is still very much palpable (at least, for me … I suspect it is for many of you, too), it’s so nice to see that his legacy will carry on in his beautiful daughter. Whether or not she grows up to be an actress is beside the point … Heath’s spirit will live on in Matilda no matter what she ends up doing when she grows up. For now, her schedule is filled with playdates … in that endeavor, she seems to be excelling quite nicely.

Birthday Lurve goes out to Kylie Minogue today as she celebrates her 41st … something tells me that this year is going to be her best year ever! Kylie and her hawt model boyfrined Andrés Velencoso have made their way to Rome, Italy this week to celebrate her birthday in one of the most romantic cities in the world. Rumor has it that the couple have gotten or are planning to be engaged — and what better place in the world to be to celebrate or get engaged than Rome? Whether or not that is true, I suspect that Kylie will enjoy a fabulous birthday nonetheless. Here are a few photos of the happy couple in Rome this week:

Rome, one of the most romantic cities in the world, proved the perfect destination for Kylie Minogue and her young love Andres Velencoso yesterday. The couple were seen out together in the Italian capital amid rumours they are secretly engaged. While there was no ring on Kylie’s finger, she certainly looked delighted as she and the Spanish model arrived back at their hotel after dining at Dal Bolognese restaurant. Velencoso, 31, is said to have proposed to the singer, who turns 41 today, during a trip to New York earlier this month. “She couldn’t stop shrieking for joy,” a source told Grazia magazine this week. “He apparently told her he wanted to wake up next to her every day for the rest of his life.” The source continued: “She asked him if he knew what he was saying and if he was serious, and when he said yes and that he wanted to marry her, she was thrilled.” Kylie is yet to choose a ring, according to the publication, but has taken to wearing a £8,000 diamond heart-shaped sparkler on her right hand. The pair, who have been dating for just seven months, have quickly become serious. In February, Velencoso moved into the singer’s London home and both have spent time with each other’s parents in Australia and Spain. “Everyone is convinced Kylie has found her soul-mate in Andres,’ added the source. “She is quite clearly head-over-heels in love and he equally seems to adore her.” Kylie herself said just weeks ago: “It is all going well and I know I am very happy right now. I want the happy-ever-after ending. I’ve definitely changed. I’m just letting things happen and seeing what does. In so many ways I am behind the mark for my age.” She met Velencoso in October 2008 at a party thrown by the burlesque star Dita Von Teese. The relationship started slowly as Kylie was still recovering from the collapse of her four-year romance with French actor Olivier Martinez, who helped nurse her through breast cancer in 2005.

Nothing would make me happier than to learn that Kylie has truly found the man of her dreams and is ready to settle down in happily wedded bliss. She is such an extraordinary performer who has given so much to her fans over the last 20 years, I’m sure all of her fans would be happy to see her settled and happy. MMMMM, she could do much worse than settlin’ down to have babies with Velencoso. Irregardless of whether she is or isn’t engaged, will or won’t be engaged … I wish her NOTHING but happiness on her birthday today!!! Much Birthday Lurve to you, Kylie!!

More TV casting news from Entertainment Weekly’s Michael Ausiello … who is reporting that 24 has signed up a new castmember to join the show. Freddie Prinze, Jr. (hubby to the amazing Sarah Michelle Gellar) is joining the cast next season as a member of the newly reinstated Counter Terrorist Unit on the show:

Altho this news is light on deets, allow me to wildly speculate for a minute. Kiefer Sutherland has said many times that there will come a time when Jack Bauer will have to die on the show. It is my understanding that producers are planning on introducing a young character to take the “Jack Bauer” position on the show if/when his death eventually comes. Could it be that FPJ is that character? A CTU Field Ops agent sounds like the perfect character to step into Bauer’s shoes. Again, this is mere speculation on my part but … you never know. I am very happy that Freddie got this role … what, with a first baby on the way, any money coming in can only be a boon. I love me some 24 … I can’t wait to see FPJ’s contribution to the show.

Michael Ausiello from Entertainment Weekly is reporting that Summer Glau who recently starred in the just-canceled Terminator: The Sarah Connor Chronicles may be getting a part in Joss Whedon’s Dollhouse when it returns for its second season this Fall. As you Whedonites already know, Glau was a castmember on Whedon’s ill-fated series Firefly so having her return to the fold makes absolute sense. But, says Joss, don’t count on Summer playing an Active (ie. Doll) on the show … he wants her to take on another part — one he hasn’t come up with just yet:

Ausiello: The noise you’re about to hear is the sound of the Whedonverse exploding. Joss confirms to me exclusively that, well, he’s one step head of you. “If anybody thinks [bringing Summer onto Dollhouse] hasn’t occurred to me already then they have not met me,” he says. “I mentioned it to her before [SCC] was canceled. I was like, ‘You know, we should get you in the ‘house.’ But first we have to come up with something that works.” And casting her as a doll would not work, insists Whedon. “Summer would be perfect to play an active, but she’s done that [type of role] a lot,” he says. “I’d rather see her play someone who talks too much. The most fun I have is when I get somebody who’s good and comfortable at doing something, and then I make them do something else. Summer said to me, ‘I would like to play a normal girl before I die of extreme old age.’”

Totally makes sense, I am not surprised by this news at all. I am really glad that Joss is confirming the news so soon tho. With all the craziness going around this week about the bullshizz idea for a new, Joss-less version of Buffy the Vampire Slayer movie, I’m glad that we can enjoy some good news in the Whedonverse. While I am very excited for the return of Dollhouse next season (and this casting news that Summer Glau may join the show), I am really worried about Amy Acker’s return to the show. She took a role on ABC’s Happy Town when it looked like Dollhouse would not get renewed … and now they have to figure out how to let her do both shows. Amy Acker was always an integral part of Dollhouse … but the development that came from the season finale totally changed her importance. SHE MUST RETURN TO DOLLHOUSE NEXT SEASON!!! Joss is a genius, he’ll figure it out. But … overall, things are lookin’ good for Dollhouse: Season 2.

Lauren LC Conrad’s final ep of The Hills hasn’t even aired yet and already MTV has started production on the next season of the show, the first without LC as the star protagonist. You may recall that Laguna Beach: The Real Orange County alum Kristin Cavallari has been tapped to take over LC’s starring position on the show and it looks like they’re already putting the new “It” girl to work. Here are a few pics from the SoCal set of The Hills yesterday evening:

Wooot!!! It is no secret that I am BIG Kristin Cavallari fan from waaaaaay back in the day. I have grown so disillusioned with The Hills in the past couple of seasons but am THRILLED that KC is taking over. I will watch every single ep. I just love that girl!! As I understand it, KC and the cast (which included Brody Jenner, Jayde Nicole, Lauren Lo Bosworth, Stephanie Pratt and Stacey the bartender that “almost broke up Speidi“) got together at a Mexican restaurant for Frankie’s birthday (Kristin brought him a bottle of Patron tequila as her gift). The season finale ep of The Hills (LC’s last) airs this Sunday night on MTV … that’s when KC will officially be introduced on the show. When she arrives at the Speidi wedding, the party gets under way:

I can’t wait!!!!!! With KC starring, I say Long Live The Hills!!! LC may be dunzo but Kristin’s time to shine is just about to begin :)
