Kylie Minogue, who will be touring North America for the first time this Fall, is getting in a lot of performance practice lately. Last week she performed a small show in Morocco and this week she performed at the Cannes Film Festival in the South of France:

I must admit, seeing all these new photos of Kylie’s recent performances is really getting me amped for her upcoming North American tour. Altho the first date is still many months away, I can’t help but be anxious to see her live, on-stage and performing on US soil. Wee!!

A bit of housekeeping/tying up of loose ends right now … for some UNGODLY reason I just read that Sienna Miller and Balthazar Getty are dunzo for good. Apparently, the split was first reported last week and I clearly missed getting word. It makes sense that the couple would be on the outs … I understand that Sienna has set her sights on new conquest Josh Hartnett (who is single so, mebbe she’s wising up?) and I know that Balthazar spent part of this weekend with his children at Disneyland in Anaheim, CA. To be honest, this is great news … Sienna needs to be with an unmarried man and Balthazar should be spending more time with his kids. I’m actually very glad that they are finally dunzo!

Gentlemen, start your engines. I can reveal Sienna Miller is young, free and single again after calling time on her ill-fated relationship with oil heir and Brothers & Sisters actor Balthazar Getty. A pal reveals: “Sienna loved being with Balthazar but there was too much baggage and she couldn’t commit to anything more than a few months. They are still good friends.” The pair began dating after they were introduced by Sienna’s Edge of Love co-star (and former beau) Matthew Rhys last May while Balthazar was nursing a new baby with then- wife Rosetta. Now Sienna is getting more and more friendly with Hollywood hunk Josh Hartnett. My moles tell me she flew to his bedside in New York when he got a bad tummy bug and nursed him back to health – and they chat all the time on the phone. My source reveals: “Josh and Sienna have a unique bond. They understand each other and I wouldn’t be surprised if a relationship blossomed.” Sienna’s aides will be thrilled by the break with Balthazar. The relationship led to her being branded a home-wrecker and is rumoured to have put an end to her role as Maid Marian in the new Robin Hood movie. The source adds: “She has a real chance of hitting the big time again.” But it’s not as if she needs that much help. The talented blonde is preparing for the release of GI Joe where she’s a leather-clad villain. Sienna tells me: “It’s going to be big for me. Then I’m off to Broadway, treading the boards.”

All of this being said, I’m not entirely ruling out the possibility of a reunion for Sienazar (after all this “pal” of a source isn’t really all that convincing) but it is encouraging that they do seem to be moving on to sunnier pastures. This split would be really good for both of them. Here’s hoping both Sienna and Balthazar continue to move forward in a positive, non-extramarital way.

Yesterday was our last full day here in NYC as we are heading back to LA in a few hours. We did our best to make our last day as fun as possible tho. We went to the matinee performance of Coraline: The Musical which is on limited run at The Lucille Lortel Theatre off Broadway:

As a Neil Gaiman fan who loved the book and 3D animated film Coraline, I was very curious to see how this would translate to the musical stage. The show was superb. I think because Gaiman’s work is so full of magic and whimsy, it’s easy for folks to get inspired to create magic of their own when telling the story. The actors were really fantastic … and, in a bit of a surprise, all of the characters were played by adults. You might think that having an older adult woman play Coraline would be bad but, in this production, it’s really very genius. The story was really preserved well and was fortified by very inventive songs written by Stephin Merritt of Magnetic Fields (because the show is in limited run, there is no option to purchase the soundtrack … but when it hopefully becomes available, I’m deffo gonna get a copy). I loved every single second of this show. Vanity Fair featured Merritt and his work on Coraline: The Musical in THIS article … which is a good, fairly unspoilery read about the show. If you are a fan of Gaiman or Coraline, you should deffo see this show. I think you’ll be surprised how well the story springs to life on the stage.

After the show, we supped on an amazing Cuban meal at Havana Alma de Cuba and then regrouped back at the apartment for a quick disco nap. Then we met up with David’s friends for a birthday party celebration for our dear friend Ben. I got to meet new friends TJ and Joe and finally got to hang out with the lovely Marissa and her man Ryan. We spent the early hours of today devouring pizza in Times Square … perfect ending to a fun trip.

But … like all good things … this trip is at an end. We’ll be back home early enough to hopefully see a movie and then … sleep. For Memorial Day tomorrow, I’ll still be blogging but I’m treating it like a shorter weekend day. Happy continued weekend, y’all!! See you on the Left Coast.

White rapper Bubba Sparxxx (née Warren Anderson) was busted in Clearwater, FL earlier this week after he was witnessed by an off-duty officer to be in illegal possession and transmission of a controlled substance. The Ugly singer was then quickly arrested and booked on charges of drug possession. He got busted, y’all:

Popular Southern rapper Bubba Sparxxx was arrested earlier this week on a felony narcotics charge. Sparxxx, whose real name is Warren Anderson Mathis, is best known for his 2006 hit single Ms. New Booty, which was a top 10 hit in the U.S. on the Billboard Hot 100. His other popular titles include Back in the Mud, Ugly and Deliverance. Sparxxx, 32, lives in Clearwater. He was raised in rural Georgia and “burst onto the scene in 2001 wearing overalls and driving a tractor in the video for Ugly,” his official Web site says. According to Clearwater police, an off-duty officer witnessed another suspect pass Sparxxx the narcotic Tranxene at 2800 Gulf to Bay Blvd., the address of a Hooters restaurant, Sunday night. Sparxxx agreed to a search and the items were found in his wallet, authorities say. He faces one charge of possession of a controlled substance. Sparxxx posted $2,000 bail Monday.

To add embarrassment to injury, Sparxxx was busted with this Tranxene drug (which is used for treatment of high anxiety) while chillin’ at Hooters. I mean … could you be more cliché? Trust me, I can’t even tell you the last time I even thought of the name Bubba Sparxxx but in the course of one’s duty to be as diligent as possible to post the mugshots of the once rich and famous, well … here you go. Sometimes failed rappers need a hit … and while those of the musical variety tend to be the more desired variety, I guess it’s understandable if those of the illegally controlled variety are the ones that are more readily available.

Taylor Lautner, who is taking a short break from filming scenes for his new movie The Twilight Saga: New Moon, was spotted in SoCal this weekend doing a bit of shopping at a friendly neighborhood Best Buy store. Just because he’s one of the hottest young actors appearing in one of the hottest new film franchises doesn’t mean that he doesn’t like doing a bit of bargain shopping. Taylor was in the market for a new video game for his Playstation 3 and decided to pick up his copy of NHL ‘08 at Best Buy:

I suppose it’s worth noting that just because Taylor is now making his own money, that doesn’t mean he doesn’t like spending his dad’s cash as well. I understand that Taylor’s dad was waiting for him in the car as he made his purchase and was the one who handed over the moolah to pay for the game. Shoot, I’d've done the same thing. It doesn’t matter how big and famous Taylor thinks he is, kids will still be kids.
