Twilight star Robert Pattinson was spotted in the close company of a young lady named Erika Dutra while partying at the amfAR Cinema Against AIDS gala at the Cannes Film Festival this week and, of course, folks are now speculating that they are the hot new couple. I don’t, necessarily, think the couple are a “couple” per se but that’s not to say they might not’ve enjoyed a bit of romantic fraternization together … which, I’m sure, may cause a tear or two to be shed by rabid Twilighters who are enamored of R.Pattz. Here is a photo of Rob and Erika and some deets provided by Life & Style on what reportedly went down:

Kristen Stewart may be the one Robert Pattinson wants, but while she was filming thousands of miles away, Robert, her New Moon co-star, hooked up with a gorgeous blonde in Cannes! Los Angeles resident Erika Dutra and Robert were spotted canoodling at the post-party for amfAR Cinema Against AIDS in Cannes. “Erika was introduced to Robert by a mutual friend at the beginning of the night and he was smitten with her from that point on,” an eyewitness tells Life & Style. “He took pictures of her, sat with her all night, and the two of them were even seen kissing! There was serious chemistry between them, and they looked like they were having an amazing time.” And it seems the night didn’t end there for the two: “Erika and Robert even left the party together!” the eyewitness reveals.

See … the whole bit about how Kristen Stewart “wants” Robert Pattinson kinda invalidates the whole story but Rob and Erika were photographed together, that much is true. It looks to me like the lad is enjoying his time in the limelight so why shouldn’t he make new friends along the way, isn’t that part of what’s so fun about being famous? I doubt anything will come from this new “hook-up” but, just in case, some of you Twilight fans might want to start preparing yourselves for the day R.Pattz does settle down with a nice girl … who isn’t you ;)

BritneySpears.com has been updated with a whole slew of new personal vacation pics of Britney, her sons Sean Preston and Jayden James, her father (and still-conservator over her person) Jamie Spears, her assistant Brett Miller and her sons’ nanny. Britney’s agent, and rumored paramour, Jason Trawick is also featured among these new photos … lookin’ pretty close and tight with Britney and her children. HMMMM. Aww … it really looks like everyone is having a great time, especially our dear Britney. Just when you thought she couldn’t look any happier … she goes on vacation and looks even happier. Perhaps some of her new happiness has to do with the company she’s been keeping (and I ain’t referring to her family). Earlier this week, we did see photos of Britney and her agent Jason Trawick enjoying some alonetime as they strolled the beach together … this new batch of photos includes images of Britwick continuing to look all “friendly” with one another. Paris Hilton and Doug Reinhardt, who have made their way to the South of France to attend festivities for the Cannes Film Festival (and to thoroughly gross out other people in their general vicinity with their intense lust for one another), have been talking to Extra! TV about the possibility of gettin’ hitched while they are in France! I, personally, do not believe that any such nonsense is actually in the works but what better way to get press coverage than to hint that you *might* be getting married … it worked for Heidi Montag and Spencer Pratt. Here is the report from Extra!:

Socialite Paris Hilton and boyfriend Doug Reinhardt have been spotted canoodling at nearly every event at Cannes Film Festival, but are they ready to take their relationship to the next level? Reinhardt, 23, tells “Extra” a wedding isn’t out of the question! “We’ll see! You never know what will happen,” said the reality show hunk, adding, “We’re very happy. We’re having a lot of fun. We laugh, we love each other. Couldn’t ask for more.” Hilton, 28, confirms the feelings are mutual. “I’ve never been happier. We’re best friends. We have the best time together. We really enjoy life. We are so much alike. I’m happy.” Reinhardt appeared on “The Hills” and previously dated Lauren Conrad and Amanda Bynes. He admits life with Paris is different. “It’s changed over the last year… She’s everything I dreamt of and she’s amazing girl and I’m having the most fun with her and she’s awesome.” Totally.

Pshaw … I’ve contended all along that Pug Dilton was made for each other, this news that they “are so much alike” is old news to me. As much as some of their grossness (ie. the open mouth hoarding of each other’s tongues) kinda revolts me, I’m thoroughly happy that they are attached to one another. I am really rooting for these two to stay together forever. I sincerely doubt that they are planning to wed on this trip to France but I’m not counting out a trip down the aisle for Pug Dilton at some point in the future … here’s hoping it’s sometime soon!!
