Last night, LOGO hosted the second annual NewNowNext Awards at the Hiro Ballroom at the Maritime Hotel here in NYC and a who’s who of cutting edge celebs made their way out for the event. David and I were graciously invited to attend and had ourselves a pretty spectacular time. Here are a few pics from the red carpet arrivals last night:

RuPaul played host of the night’s festivities and a whole slew of really fun awards were handed out thruout the evening. The show won’t air on LOGO until June 13 so you’re just gonna hafta wait to find out who won all the fun awards ;) I will say, tho, that RuPaul was so awesome as host … she looked FABULOUS and managed to grace us with 3 costume changes thruout the night. Vanessa Williams was a nice surprise … there were just a lot of really fun folks there last night. We had blast. Our table was situated right next to Sia’s table and we bonded with her immediately. She came over to me to tell me that she loves reading my “bloggy” and uses it as her source of all the fun “gossy”. She is just insanely adorable. I have a few fun photos to post in the TV Guide post later on today .. but for now, congrats and love goes out to all the NewNowNext Award winners … and to Cheyenne Jackson for being hot.

SQUEEEEEEEEE! Yesterday we learned the amazing news that ABC has officially picked up the remake of the 80’s sci-fi TV series V as a mid-season replacement next season. We also got to see two short clips of footage from the new series which stars, among others, Elizabeth Mitchell from Lost. Today, we get to see the FULL LENGTH trailer for V which gives a very nice overview of the series plotline and even offers a glimpse of what the Visitors are really up to. ABC has released this full new preview of “V,” which is a re-imagining of the 1980’s miniseries about the world’s first encounter with an alien race in which the aliens call themselves The Visitors, and have a seemingly friendly agenda that may or may not be a cover for something more malevolent. “V” stars Elizabeth Mitchell as Erica Evans, Morris Chestnut as Ryan Nichols, Joel Gretsch as Father Jack Landry, Lourdes Benedicto as Valerie Stevens, Logan Huffman as Tyler Evans, Laura Vandervoort as Lisa, with Morena Baccarin as Anna and Scott Wolf as Chad Decker.

OMG OMG OMG OMG … I AM SO LOVING THIS! Yes, the trailer gives a quick look at the Visitors‘ secret. I am so excited for this series, I really wish it wasn’t scheduled as a mid-season replacement cuz I dunno that I can really wait until NEXT YEAR to watch this show. Angelina Jolie and Brad Pitt have taken the Cannes Film Festival by storm. From the moment they arrived, pretty much all the attention has focused on them and the folks that have been deemed worthy to be in their hallowed presence … but Brangelina did take time out of their bizzy schedule of runnin’ things to share an intimate moment with one another when they thought no one was looking. It would seem that the spark of lurve is still burning bright between these two:

Trouble in the relationship? We don’t think so! Brad and Angelina seem to be getting along just fine and are seen with a rare public display of intense affection in these photos obtained exclusively by RadarOnline.com. The power couple arrived at Cannes on Tuesday and dined out with Quentin Tarantino and others. Our cameras caught them Tuesday night showing they are still very much in love. They have been rarely photographed together in recent months leading to many stories contending their relationship is on the rocks. I’ve never believed for a second the ridic rumors that there was ever any trouble in this relationship. Brangelina seem so well suited and well matched to one another, I honestly believe they are crazy in love. Britney Spears, who recently completed the first leg of her tour The Circus starring Britney Spears, has taken a break from rehearsals (she is due to take her tour to the UK next month with a few revamped numbers) to jet off to the Caribbean with her children for a little R&R before she goes back on the road. Oh, and her hunky agent Jason Trawick went along for the trip … here are a few photos:

Damn … Britney is lookin’ good these days. The rigors of touring has really helped her get in great shape. I still believe that something is going on betwixt Britney and Jason … either they are really, really good friends or there is something of a romantic nature goin’ on (something I’ve suspected before). They look way too cozy for things to be a strictly professional relationship. I don’t recall seeing photos of Britney chillin’ with a shirtless Larry Rudolph ever. HMMM. Whatever is going on, she looks happy and that is all that matters. I’ve said it before, I think Jason Trawick would be a great guy for our dear Britney. They really do seem to like one another … don’t you think?

Rihanna has made her return to the world of music video … but has not done so on her own. At a conference for the Def Jam record label here in NYC this week, a new music video by Kanye West for his song Paranoid was screened for the attendees — and, lo and behold, Rihanna guest stars in the clip for the majority of the video. She doesn’t sing on the track, she just appears in the video. Some industrious chap managed to record the clip in its entirety … here are a few screencaps from the video:

Someone got all Nancy Drew at a recent Def Jam conference and recorded this sneak peek of Kanye West and Rihanna’s new video for “Paranoid.” Nice work, gumshoes! The black and white title cards start off with words like “deceit,” “heartache” and “betrayal” — hmm I wonder why? Then it fades to a remarkable-looking Rihanna in nothing but a black teddy and tons of body lotion. Oh yeah, and she is laying in bed. This video is going to be one huge, Paula Abdul like, open hand slap to the face for Chris Brown. Although she doesn’t sing in the video (which is weird) Rihanna laughs uncontrollably, drives an old car ala green screen (very David Lynch-like) and comes across as the one who is going to truly shine after all this C. Brown mess is said and done. It’s more or less a three minute “look at me, I’m not phased” celebration. The song is truly brilliant and the video is by far some of Kanye’s best work. So get ready, and hold onto your morning bagel kids, because I am about to say something I thought I would never ever say. Nice work, Kanye.

In my personal estimation, there are better Kanye West songs but to each their own. The track is pretty good … but it will undoubtedly get a lot of attention because of Rihanna’s guest appearance. After the jump, check out Kanye and Rihanna in Paranoid …

Late last year we learned that The CW was planning to produce a redux of the famed 90’s hit TV drama Melrose Place after their redux of Beverly Hills, 90210 did so well in its first season. In March, we learned that Ashlee Simpson was the first name attached to the new project and then, subsequently, learned that both original MP castmembers Laura Leighton (Sydney Andrews) and Thomas Calabro (Michael Mancini) signed on to reprise their roles (after we learned that Marcia Cross and Heather Locklear both decided to pass … for now). Today, we get our first look at the new crop of tenants moving into Melrose Place … whose drama we’ll be subjected to come this Fall … behold:

Well, there you have it, The CW’s cast of the new “Melrose Place” … What happened to the good old days when co-stars would lie on top of one another for photo shoots? In more exciting news, it’s Sydney Andrews! Yes, here is your first look at Laura Leighton reprising the role that earned her legions of loyal leopard-ear wearing fans back in 1993! But it appears that she’s traded leopards for cougars, as she digs her claws into Shaun Sipos’ nubile flesh. His character, David, is reportedly the son of OG “Melrose Place” character Michael Mancini, who Sydney spent many seasons schtupping, making this pairing all the creepier. In a good way! Here’s hoping producers don’t declaw Sydney and allow her to drag some unsuspecting simpleton into the pool for a good old catfight. Someone point her towards Ashlee Simpson, m’kay? Two more pictures lie under the cut, so make like Kimberly Shaw and blast this sucker open!

HMMMMMM … I still dunno … it’s way too early for me to be gettin’ too excited about this show. I’m curious to see how it all comes together so I’ll deffo be watching but at this early stage, judgment must be reserved.
