First Look: Britney Spears, ‘Radar’

"Confidence is a must/Cockiness is a plus"
Wednesday, May 20th, 2009

BritneySpears.com has just released the official artwork for Britney’s new single Radar … check it out:

To be totally honest, Radar isn’t my fave track off of Circus (nor was it a particular fave when it was first released on her album Blackout) but I do like it. It’s one of those songs that you think you don’t want to hear but when it comes on you end up dancing around and singing along with. The remix possibilities are numerous, it could be a big hit. I’m hoping they release something more adventurous as the next single … I know Phonography is a bonus track but it would make such a great single! Ah well, I guess we’ll have to see what comes next. For now, Radar should be blasting from our stereos this Summer … do you think this is good news?

Michael Jackson Rocks Red Pleather In Beverly Hills

Yipes!!!
Wednesday, May 20th, 2009

Now that we know that Michael Jackson has decided to postpone the first few dates of his This It It Tour until next year, I guess we can understand why he has so much time to spend shopping and hanging out all over SoCal. Jacko was spotted making his way out of a medical center in Beverly Hills, CA yesterday and he was rockin’ the fugliest red pleather jacket (possibly a nod to his famous red, zippered leather jacket from his Beat It music video) and the scariest nose and lips on Earth … behold:

EEK! I think I actually prefer it when he wears his surgical mask now. These lips even make Lisa Rinna’s lips look normal by comparison. This man is just so bizarre. As I said earlier, I fear the postponement of his first few concert dates is only the beginning of a terribly embarrassing mess that will, most likely, ruin his career. I hope I’m wrong … for the sake of his fans, I do hope I’m wrong. Thus far, I’ve yet to see anything that gives me hope that he can pull off a comeback. Do you think it can really be done?

Robert Downey, Jr. Gets Some Ass-Whippin’ Training

Fight Club
Wednesday, May 20th, 2009

Robert Downey, Jr., who is currently in production for the sequel to the wildly successful Iron Man in Hollywood, CA, was spotted doing a bit of fight training with a professional on the set of Iron Man 2 earlier today. Here are a couple of pics:

It’s so hard for me to see RDJ as a tough guy. I know he does some fighting in Sherlock Holmes (which we got a peek at in the new just-released movie trailer) and it looks like he’ll be kickin’ butt in Iron Man 2 but … he’s a lover, not a fighter.

Jessica Biel Does ‘Allure’ Magazine

Reveals that directors that typecast and that paps are only things that faze her
Wednesday, May 20th, 2009

Jessica Biel is featured on the cover and in the pages of the new issue of Allure magazine but while her coverstory interview has yet to make its way to the Internets, we can get our first look at her coverphoto and a few behind the scenes photos from her shoot:

For her cover shoot with Michael Thompson in Long Beach, California, actress Jessica Biel wasn’t even slightly fazed by posing on a four-story platform in an electrical plant. What actually fazes her? Being typecast by directors and followed by paparazzi. See the exclusive outtakes from the shoot here, and for more photos and the profile “Body of Work,” pick up the June issue of Allure, on newsstands May 26. Biel showed up dressed head-to-toe in William Rast—boyfriend Justin Timberlake’s clothing line—including a pair of fringed angle boots. “These are the exact ones they had at the show in New York,” she said. “They sent me a pair the models wore, because they hadn’t been produced yet, but I loved them so much.” Here, the actress wears a jumpsuit by Derek Lam with earrings, belt, and a bracelet by Louis Vuitton; brass and Lucite bangles by Alexis Bittar; and a glass bangle by Hilary London. When Biel studied the racks of clothes at the shoot, she zeroed in on a jacket by Louis Vuitton. “I’m wearing a new Eres bra that would look great under this,” she told Allure creative director Paul Cavaco … “I wanted to create a rich, sun-kissed face for Jessica,” said makeup artist Stéphane Marais. To that end, he rubbed bronzer on her temples, nose, and chin and peach blush on her cheeks; rimmed her eyes with brown liner; and added shimmery taupe and gold shadows. The final touch: sheer coral lipstick. Hairstylist Serge Normant’s aim was a “natural, wavy look that’s very soft and sexy.” He used volumizer and smoothing serum on Biel’s wet hair, parted it down the middle, and blew it dry. He curled random sections and then “let the wind do the rest.” Since meeting Timberlake two years ago, Biel’s private life has become very public. “It’s wonderful to do what I do, but everything that goes with it? It’s bizarre,” says the actress. “The invasion of privacy is very tough. I am followed all day, every day. Going to the dentist, the cleaners. I guess I could look like shit going to the dentist, but only if I didn’t care what I saw in the papers.” In an effort to keep Hollywood focused on her acting ability, Biel made sure that some of her early film contracts had a no-nudity clause—which meant that she got to choose a body double for love scenes. “I tried to get breasts that I thought were similar to mine,” she says. “But a little smaller and perkier in the butt? OK, I did want that.” According to Biel, getting the chance to prove herself has been her biggest challenge. Her résumé is that of an action star, but she yearns to play more romantic roles, and covets the ones that end up going to Scarlett Johansson or Natalie Portman. “I just want an opportunity,” she says. “If you don’t like the audition, then don’t hire me! But if you don’t want to even see me—that’s hurtful…. I’m a very 360-degree person.”

Well, since Jessica’s most recent film Power Blue deffo features nudity, I guess she’s moved on from that “early no-nudity” clause in her contract. Meh. It was bound to happen eventually … at least she looked good all nekkid and stuff. But, Jessica’s Allure photoshoot features clothing — after the jump, check out a few behind-the-scenes pics from the shoot …

Does Miley Cyrus Have A New Boyfriend?

Has Justin Gaston been replaced by a guy named Liam?
Wednesday, May 20th, 2009

Miley Cyrus posted a photo on her official Twitter profile that featured her at dinner with producer Adam Shankman, actor Greg Kinnear and a hot guy named Liam who she calls her “boyfriend”. Here is the photo and the full text of her tweet:

adam shankman (producer) Liam (boyfriend) and Greg Kenear (how ever u spell it hahah daddy) I love my new family!!!!

Now, before Miley’s 20 year old manfriend Justin Gaston goes throwing himself off a bridge somewhere, I suppose it should be noted that Liam has been cast as Miley’s boyfriend in a new project. At first, I thought she really was introducing the world to her new (more age-appropriate) boyfriend but, alas, ’tis not so. This is great news for Justin Gaston, tho … it would seem that his life still has meaning.

Michael Jackson Postpones The First Dates Of His UK ‘This Is It’ Tour

Not a good sign
Wednesday, May 20th, 2009

Uh oh! Bad news for fans who were planning on attending the opening night performance of Michael Jackson’s much ballyhooed comeback tour titled This Is It which will take place over 50 nights at the O2 Arena in London, England starting this Summer. Jacko’s management issued an announcement that the first few dates in July have been pushed back to February and March of next year! This means if you have tickets for the July 8, 10, 12 and 14th shows then your tickets will only be valid next year. The new opening night date is July 13th:

Michael Jackson has rescheduled the first four shows of his sell-out This Is It tour at London’s O2 Arena causing chaos for fans. The first gig will now be July 13 and not July 8 as originally planned. And fans with tickets for next three shows will now have to wait until next year to see the King of Pop, with the July 10 show moved to March 1, 2010; July 12 to March 3, 2010 and July 14 to March 6, 2010. Apparently it’s due to his management “wanting the production to be the best it can”, fans have been told via an email from organisers. The email said:

“This afternoon Michael Jackson producers will be announcing the rescheduling and change of the opening shows in order to meet the challenges presented by such a large and technically complex concert. Please allow us to apologise. It was not an easy decision to change the schedule but in the end we wanted to ensure that all of Michael’s fans attending the concerts get the same quality in staging and level of entertainment. We are writing to let you know that the July 10th concert that you purchased tickets for at the O2 arena has now been rescheduled for 1st March 2010. The tickets you receive will be printed with the rescheduled date and you will have the same seat originally purchased. You do not have to do anything as you will be automatically allocated the same seats and moved to the revised date. We understand the inconvenience this may have caused and for this reason we have secured some excellent hotel deals for Michael Jackson fans travelling to London on these rescheduled dates.”

Wow! This is some bullshizz! I would be PISSED if I had tickets for the opening night show and now have to wait until next year to see it! What a complete and utter eff up. To be honest, I’m not at all that surprised. I imagine there will be other postponements and/or cancellations. I cannot believe that MJ is ready for an undertaking of this magnitude and I’m pretty sure that this mess is the beginning of a lot more mess. We have tickets for a September show (I even told David it’d be smart to get tix well into his tour just in case something like this happened). All I know is I wanna see this trainwreck on stage once in my lifetime. What a mess … I feel so bad for his diehard fans who are now totally screwed.
