Wee!! I am having a pretty great day so far :) With David’s help, I managed to procure tickets to see Kylie Minogue LIVE IN CONCERT here in the US this Fall in Oakland/San Francisco, Los Angeles and New York City! As you may recall, I announced yesterday that Kylie is launching her FIRST EVER US tour this Fall and tickets went on presale this morning. If you missed out on today’s presale, don’t fret … the tickets go on public sale next weekend so you have a second chance to get tix. I’m also excited cuz Josh and I are going to see Star Trek at the ArcLight tonight … I’m geeked to see the film again but I’m more excited to hang out with my homie.

All day long I’ve been working exclusively on my MacBook laptop … I think I’m finally ready to make the switch to Apple:

It’s been a long time since I’ve been a Mac person … but my first computer back in 1994 was a Mac PowerPC and I had a heavy-as-hell Mac PowerBook all thru college. I made the switch to PC when cd burners came out and never looked back. I’ve had this MacBook for a couple of years now and I love it … I’ve been toying with the idea of using my Mac when I’m on the road and my HP PC when I’m home. This computer is so fast, we’ll see how it goes. So far, I’ve suffered no hiccups at all. Everything that I normally do on a PC I’ve been able to do on my Mac.

Temps are soaring into the high 90’s today so I think I’m gonna hafta get my ass to the pool. We’ve yet to use our facilities here in our new condo building so today might be the day. Summer, summertime!

While Chris Brown and his legal team are trying to figure out a way to avoid going to trial for the alleged assault of his ex-girlfriend, Rihanna (the ex in question) spent another fabulous day in NYC lookin’, well, fabulous. As you may recall, yesterday we saw pics of Rihanna rockin’ a very cool look underneath her bright yellow umbrella and today we see pics of another one of her interestingly stylish looks … that she coupled with new blonde streaks in her hair!

Yeah, I am not usually the type of person to celebrate the use of streaks but these highlights do really work for our dear Ri Ri. The corset top and slim jeans also works very well for her body type. She looks amazing, as usual. I am just really pleased that we continue to see pics of Rihanna lookin’ fab and going about her biz looking so well. Hopefully that curly mop she had on the top of her head is gone for good … I love her with the flat-ironed hair. Love her!!

Now that this season’s American Idol competition is down to the top 3 finalists (after last night’s elimination), the battle to become the new American Idol is getting down to the wire … tho, Entertainment Weekly magazine seems to think that the competition is already a done deal. They don’t come out and declare a winner, per se, but by singling out one of this season’s contestants and putting HIM on the cover of their magazine they seem to be making a clear statement. It’s as if EW is saying, Here is your new American Idol … Adam Lambert:

Yes, pretty much everyone on the planet seems to think that Adam Lambert has got the title in the bag but I don’t know that any publication has made this sort of determination so early before a winner is selected. EW even mentions that fact that Adam “might be gay” on their cover which, it seems to me, appears to be the footnote anytime anyone talks about Adam’s possible win as the new American Idol. I don’t even watch the show but I’m aware of all the lurve that Adam is getting from everyone … it just seems kinda shitty to the other contestants that he is being singled out by a mag like EW before the competition is even over. In any event, I’m sure Mr. Lambert will benefit greatly from this bit of major press … not that he needs it. I understand that he is the most exciting, most charismatic AI contestant to come along in years. I guess we’ll see if his reputation can live up to the hype when the new American Idol is crowned in a couple of weeks. What do y’all think … do YOU think Adam Lambert has the competition in the bag?

Lindsay Lohan, who has been back to creepin’ in the wee hours with her ex-girlfriend Samantha Ronson here in SoCal lately, was spotted in the hills of Hollywood all glammed up in the guise of her idol Marilyn Monroe for a photoshoot for Spanish Vogue magazine. Here are a few pics of the once-again platinum blonde Lindsay on the set of her Vogue shoot yesterday afternoon:

I love these pics!! I think she looks good with the flouncy blonde hair. I’m fairly certain that all this blondeness is fake hair but she wears it well (tho, I do prefer her with her natural red hair color). Lindsay owes much to the genius work by her hairdresser Andy Lecompte (pictured with her, who has also worked on pretty much everyone’s hair in Hollywood … he was styling Madonna’s hair when I met her back in October 2005). As the court date looms for singer Chris Brown to face charges that he physically assaulted his ex-girlfriend Rihanna last February, a new report has surfaced that shows that his legal team — led by his attorney Mark Garagos — is preparing their case to try and have all charges against Brown dismissed on the grounds of the police’s mismanagement of evidence (ie. the leaking of the photo of Rihanna’s assault injuries). If Garagos gets his way, the entire matter could be dismissed without Brown having to answer to the charges and could get off scott free:

Chris Brown’s legal team is on the move. The singer’s lawyer, Mark Geragos, filed a request in a Los Angeles court Wednesday seeking access to LAPD records, arguing that Rihanna’s injury photo – widely distributed on the Web – was “illegally leaked to the media” by police and may result in a case dismissal, RadarOnline reports. “I am informed and believe that this highly prejudicial photograph was sold by an LAPD officer to the entertainment website, TMZ,” Geragos states. “The photograph was immediately viewed by hundreds of thousands of viewers and was displayed on every news channel for several weeks … The purpose of the leak was necessarily for profit and to vilify Mr. Brown and poison the potential jury pool.” Geragos adds that if LAPD records show “dishonest conduct” by its officers, “I intend to use such evidence at the preliminary hearing to attack their credibility … I believe there is a reasonable likelihood that the case will be dismissed at the preliminary hearing.” Will Geragos’s gambit work? A judge will decide. But, says L.A. criminal defense attorney Jeffery Rubenstein, who’s not involved in the case: “It’s unlikely the judge will dismiss the case on the grounds of leaked evidence. It’s not police conduct at issue here, it’s Chris Brown’s.” Brown, 20, has pleaded not guilty to allegedly beating Rihanna on Feb. 8. A preliminary hearing, in which the court determines if there’s enough evidence for trial, is to begin within eight court days of May 28. But the case could potentially end with a plea bargain at any time.

I can’t say that I blame Garagos for taking this route to having the case dismissed … his entire job is get his client off as entirely and as quickly as possible. That said, it really will be up to the ruling judge to determine if the case should be dismissed. I agree, tho, that the issue at hand is not the behavior of the LAPD — it’s Brown’s alleged assault against Rihanna. For the sake of justice, I really hope this case does not get dismissed. If Chris Brown really is “not guilty” as he asserts then he should welcome the chance to prove so in a court of law. My guts tell me that Brown will at some point work out a plea bargain. If the case looks like it’s going to trial, I think he’ll work out a deal (the prosecutor wants some amount of jail time) and face as little punishment as possible. I guess we’ll just have to wait and see.

Last month we got our first look at a new promo pic of the wolf pack that will be featured in the The Twilight Saga: New Moon film that is scheduled for release this November. In that promo pic, one character was noticeably missing … Jacob Black (played by Taylor Lautner), who is the main wolf in the story.
