The Red Wings Make The Stanley Cup Playoffs More Interesting

The TV Guide
Wednesday, May 6th, 2009

Last night David and I made the trek down to Anaheim, CA to attend Game 3 of the Stanley Cup playoffs featuring the Detroit Red Wings against the Anaheim Ducks. This was my first chance to see the Wings play on the road and was absolutely thrilled to attend the game to root for my Detroit homies in person. Here are a few pics from last night’s game:

Unfortch, the Red Wings ended up losing to the Ducks by a score of 2-1 (and now the Ducks lead in the series with 2 games to 1) … which is pure genius on the part of the Wings. See, I figured it out … I’m certain that the Red Wings want the Ducks to have a false sense of security on their home ice so that they will come back and win the whole series in the end. Plus, I’m sure they know that I have tix to Game 6 here in SoCal next Tuesday night and they want to ensure that I’ll be able to attend to watch them play again ;) In all honesty, tho, the Ducks played an amazing game of hockey last night … they were really on point and really aggressive. The absolutely deserved the win.

I was very surprised to see so many Red Wings fans in the Honda Center last night. I was certain that I would be among the very few folks sporting a Red Wings jersey but was pretty shocked to see that about 40% of the jerseys in the arena were Red Wings jerseys! Also, and totally randomly, Tina Yothers from Family Ties ran up and “body checked” me while we waited in line to get in the arena. She told me she had to check every person wearing a Wings jersey. I was so shocked … it was Tina Yothers! I wished her a Happy Birthday (as yesterday was her bday) and wished her team good luck (which, in retrospect, I prolly shouldn’t've done). It was just a really fun night … except for the losing part ;) We’ll get ‘em next time! Go Wings!!

Also — I have to say how impressed I was with the way the Ducks fans behaved … I thought there might be some assholeyness from some of the fans but everyone was really cool, really friendly. I love hockey fans like that!

No plans for today … but the weather is beautiful! I’m deffo gonna get out and soak up some sun.

Victoria Beckham Launches A New Emporio Armani Underwear Ad Campaign

Her first US Armani campaign launch
Wednesday, May 6th, 2009

Earlier this year we got our first look at Victoria Beckham in the new worldwide ad campaign for Emporio Armani Women’s Underwear (including an ad that also features an underwear-clad David Beckham) and today we get to check out the latest ad from the campaign. Vicki B., who attended the Metropolitan Museum of Art Costume Institute Gala on Monday night, made an appearance at the Macy’s department store in NYC to unveil the newest Armani Underwear campaign image:

It was only last March that Armani released the last ad featuring Vicki B. and they’re already releasing the next one. Since January, Armani has released 4 Armani Underwear ads featuring Vicki B. and 3 new campaign ads featuring David Beckham. It’s clear that the company is being aggressive with the release of these ads considering how well they are being received all around the world. I’m not sure that I particularly care for this newest ad (I’m not really a fan of the ponytail) but if Armani is still releasing ads featuring VB then mebbe they have a few more ads featuring Becks scheduled for release in the near future (here’s hoping). What do you think …

… do y’all like this new Emporio Armani Underwear Ad featuring VB?

Chris Pine Takes A Shirtless Stroll

Oh Captain, my Captain
Wednesday, May 6th, 2009

Chris Pine, who portrays the young James T. Kirk in the new JJ Abrams film Star Trek, was spotted soaking up some sun while hiking here in SoCal yesterday and I feel it is my sworn duty to pass along the goods to all y’all … behold:

Sir, yes, Sir. See … now why can’t more Hollywood hotties strip down to the waist and walk around in public more often? I think Mr. Pine can be an example to guys like Jake Gyllenhaal, Channing Tatum, Robert Pattinson and more that it’s OK to walk around sans shirt, especially when the weather is so lovely! Star Trek opens in theaters this Friday and, I must tease, Chris features in a very nice underwear scene that is really quick but deffo worth checking out ;) Thanks for the peepshow, Chris! See you in theaters this weekend!

Rihanna Steps Out In NYC Under Her Umbrella

Now that it's raining more than eva
Wednesday, May 6th, 2009

Rihanna, who has been making her fair share of public appearances in recent weeks not the least of which was her return to the red carpet Monday night at the Metropolitan Museum of Art Costume Institute Gala, was spotted braving the rain in the streets of NYC last night lookin’ utterly faboo underneath her bright yellow umbrella (most likely trying to avoid detection, without much success) … behold:

It seems to me that Rihanna, who is clearly ready to hit the red carpet again, is getting back to her old self. These photos recall the good ol’ days before her assault when her nightly duty was to just look fabulous wherever she went. The thigh high boots leather leggings paired with the short jean shorts is a nice look for her … one that she’s rocked before. Seeing her with an umbrella instantly recalls her mega hit song of the same name that rocketed her to superstardom … perhaps this is her signal to us that her life is finally getting back to normal. She looks great, it’s really fantastic seeing her look so well again.

Lindsay Lohan’s Late Night Visit With Samantha Ronson

The Return of Dakota Moss?
Wednesday, May 6th, 2009

Lindsay Lohan was spotted making a late night arrival at ex-girlfriend Samantha Ronson’s home last night, sneaking into the abode at around 1:30AM after spending a night out on the town with little sister Aliana Lohan. Lindsay was spotted carrying a composition book with the name Dakota Moss LOLA written on the cover. Those of you who suffered thru her painfully horrible film I Know Who Killed Me (and, unfortch, recall the experience) might recognize that she used the name Dakota Moss as her stripper name in the film:

HMMM … stripping for Sam, perhaps? Prolly not … but I am very encouraged that the ladies continue to spend time together … perhaps a reconciliation will happen very soon? Who knows … as long as things stay cool between the ladies, it’s all good. I believe this is the first time that L. Ron have gotten together since they each flew off in different directions a couple of weeks ago (Sam to NYC, Linds to Hawaii). Mebbe they got together to write poetry together in Lindsay’s stripper book. HMMM. Sweet, young love.
