Zac Efron Promotes His Hosting Gig On ‘SNL’
Apparently was unaware that he should be funny
High School Musical heartthrob and star of the upcoming film 17 Again Zac Efron is hosting this weekend’s episode of Saturday Night Live for the first time ever. In order to try and convince viewers to tune in to watch the show, NBC films short commercial vids featuring the guest host, an SNL castmember (or two) and sometimes the musical guest in order to promote the show. Here is a HULU video of all three SNL commercial vids — that feature Zac Efron, SNL castmember Kristen Wiig and this week’s musical guest Yeah Yeah Yeahs — to promote tonight’s ep:
I sincerely hope that tonight’s ep of SNL will be funnier than these short clips. I’ll still be tuning in but … these vids do nothing to convince me that Zac is up to the task of carrying an entire episode of SNL. We shall see.

I like Kristen in the first one. Ha
I liked the last one….but the others weren’t that great.
it’s rare that i laugh at any of those commercials…
hopefully the writing will be great because i really hope he can pull it off… i guess we’ll see tonight
If things start bombing, theyre going to have him take off his shirt and stand there for the rest of the 90 minutes.
Best. Episode. Ever
@schmee — ;)
that last one was good!
i’m excited to see the yeah yeah yeahs. and kristen wiig, as always.
Ooooh, cannot wait to see if he’ll go Timberlake style…
HAHA those clips cracked me up, especially because of Kristen. I also love how Karen O giggled in the background. God I love them both. Screw Zac, he should only be eye candy.
Thanks Trent for letting me know the Yeah Yeah Yeah’s are performing tonight!! I will certainly be checking it out now!
I love the new Yeah Yeah Yeahs song! I will probably watch this. Thanks!
@ schmee…haha great idea! i was expecting him to be pretty good but between the funny or die video and these clips I dunno…..
the last one made me lol
and lol @ schmee
i agree
I find that when there’s a lackluster host, the cast really steps up and shines, which I like to see :-)
