Zac Efron Prepares For His Hosting Gig On ‘Saturday Night Live’

New York state of mind
April 6th, 2009

Zac Efron, who is bizzy promoting the release of his new movie 17 Again, will be hosting Saturday Night Live in NYC this coming weekend and has already made his way to the Big Apple to begin preparations for his big night. Here are a couple pics of Zac making his arrival at JFK International Airport late last night:

It remains to be seen if Zac has it in him to pull off such a high-profile live hosting gig but it makes sense that SNL would want him to host. The kid is fairly popular with the young ladies (and a few dudes, both young and old) so he is likely to attract a pretty big audience. The Yeah Yeah Yeahs will be the musical guest so, on that front, it looks to be a great show. Something tells me that Zac will end up doing a fairly decent job on the show … from what I’ve seen of the available footage of 17 Again, he can actually be quite funny. I can’t wait to see the High School Musical skit they’re bound to cook up. I’m curious for the ep but I’m not really holding my breath just yet. Do y’all think he can pull it off?

Yes :) As much as people poop on him, I think he has potential in Hollywood. The question I want to know is how long the relationship will last between those two!

I think he can definitely pull it off – he’s quite talented and I have faith in him!!!

Even if he doesn’t pull it off, he’ll be fun to look at while he’s sinking!

I think he can pull it off… from what I’ve seen of him in footage and interviews he seems to be a pretty funny guy and I’ve seen HSM (all of them… I’m not gonna front) and he’s got some pretty good comedic timing… I guess we’ll have to wait and see!

I def think he’ll pull it off. He has a little Justin Timberlake Nsync days quality about him and I think he’s up for pushing the envelope. I can see him surprising us for sure. Perhaps with an Andy Samberg co-starring Digital Short??

  11. Tracy Says:

I think he is so cute. I hope he does well. Seth Rogen epically failed on snl. So I hope zac doesn’t.

I THINK HE might surprise people, I can’t help but like this kid, he really harkens back to the 80’s teen idols like the corey’s, kirk cameron, matt dillon, etc etc, I almost expect him to pop up in a movie with amy dolenz, 80’s patrick dempsey and C., Thomas Howell, he actually reminds me of c. thomas howell, and I can’t help but like the kid, he seems like a nice enough person, I don’t understand why people hate him so much, he seems like a nice kid who wants to make a name for himself and he’s a real teen idol, if he joins up with those jonas brothers they could break some box office numbers new kids on the block/nsync style, lol ( don’t you just love the 80’s)
