The unending barrage of celebrity fragrances continues its ceaseless onslaught with the arrival of yet another product to fill the shelves at your friendly neighborhood CVS Pharmacy. Avril Lavigne, the Sk8r girl herself, has released a smell called Black Star and she urges you to, “Be Your Own Star”:
I understand that Black Star perfume is but the first in a line of toiletries that Avril plans to unleash on the unsuspecting public. Very soon, YOU will be able to fill your medicine cabinets with things as varied as after shave, bath oil, bath soap, shower gel, body shampoo, and body lotion. Doesn’t that sound swell? I’m not entirely sure what I think Avril Lavigne smells like but something tells me that I wouldn’t be too interested to find out. Are any of y’all interested in smelling like Avril? Any guesses what she/this perfume smells like?

KP love. Not sure if you were around when Madonna first appeared, but the critics bashed her and proclaimed a one hit wonder. She had some pretty horrible styles going on too at the beginning. Her secret however was she was smart and knew to change and not stay the same. If Avril was smart, she could chose the same path, but unfort seems to play the old punk theme over and over. Madge’s fans grew with her, Avril’s have grown out of her.

I’m really hoping its a certain scent. ya see I was on the consumer panel for her fragrance! and the selections they had all smelled great but 2 are still in use right now! can’t wait to smell it lol

Eeeeeeelectric Youth! I still have the little bottle with the definitive spring inside it identifying it as Debbie Gibson’s signature scent. And you know what? It’s pink and black, too.
Traci, Aluminum Zirconium the active ingredient found in most popular brands of deodorant can cause cancer, and has been found in the breasts of people who had cancer( male and female) so understand that Avril wasn’t crazy when she said that, but spraying perfumes or colognes will not work as an anti-perspirent. There are natural brands of deodorant( but most of them don’t work for very long unfortunately) but people who are chemical concscious like me( I like to use paraben free products) can get a good deodorant that actually works and Has NO Aluminum Zirconium in it, it’s adidas deodorant( they make them for women and men) look for the one that says No Aluminum Zirconium on the label, it works as well as secret, smells better and doesn’t have the cancer threat. sorry to hijack trent but I didn’t want people to misunderstand what the chemicals in products can actually lead to in some cases. To get back on topic, the perfume does Not look appealing and Avril has always been a gimmick and a one trick pony, she can actually sing but It’s hard to notice that when she’s looked the same for about 5 years.
