Fashionista extraordinaire Victoria Beckham was spotted on a shopping excursion to Dolce & Gabbana in Milan, Italy this week and homegirl was rockin’ a set of ridiculously odd shoulder pads on her person. Not since the days of Designing Women have we seen such an atrocity against fashion … behold:


I understand the jacket with the funky shoulder pads is from the design house of Balmain, which is like a totally way important designer and stuff but, c’mon … the pad have to be a joke, right? I can’t believe that any person in their right mind would really want to rock this look. VB, on the other hand, has the luxury of doing ridiculous things for fashion because it’s bound to make a splash. This jacket looks … silly. Any article of clothing that requires that you turn sideways to walk thru a doorway has got to GO. Nice try, tho, Posh.

    Its a trend in the fashion world atm, its an everyday thing in a fashionista’s world to be striking and overstep the boundaries of dull and ‘everyday’, its an escape and an artful business, so dont hate.

    in accordance with a couple others on here… I love this. Balmain has done a couple very forward silhouettes this year, this shoulder being one of them. If you check the fashion blogs, you’ll see editors, models and a number of other fashion icons all rockin’ looks that at first seem out of place and odd. But that’s how it goes! Fashion evolves – take note of high waisted, full legs, and PLEATS, yes pleats, on pants… promise. :D

      @Danny P — absolutely, I do not discount that this look is fashion forward and “in” this season … but it still looks silly. Pleats, ye gods, sometimes I honestly believe the fashion powers that be conspire in dark rooms as to what sort of ridiculous fashion trends they should unleash upon the world and then secretly laugh afterward :)
