Super-Charged Fun
The TV Guide

Yesterday afternoon David and I got an early start and managed to get out of the house at about 12:30 so that we could enjoy some of the beautiful weather. We had to make a quick trip over the hill into the Valley to pick up a package and decided to stay for the rest of the afternoon. We grabbed a snack at Outback (cheese fries, yummmmmmmmmmmm) and then caught a matinee of Crank: High Voltage:

Let me be perfectly clear … Crank is an effed up movie but it’s fun as hell. For the sequel, they decided to turn the story into an actual video game … complete with multiple lives, power ups and gross over-the-top violence. It really struck me as a live-action version of Grand Theft Auto. When the shoot-out in the strip joint took place and a stripper’s fake breasts started leaking silicone after she was shot … I kinda had a feeling it was gonna get more gratuitous from there. The movie is rated R and will not be for everyone … but David and I really enjoyed it. It’s not very PC and can oftentimes be offensive but everyone is offended pretty equally and sometimes you just gotta go with the flow. Crank: High Voltage is a crazy ass film … if cartoony violence is your thing then you might want to check it out.

After the movie, David and I finally got around to picking up some patio furniture for our balcony so now we have a place to sit when we go out there. The rest of the night was spent at home. Nice, quiet … perfect.

This afternoon, we make our way down to Anaheim, CA for our second Britney Spears concert … very exciting. We might even get out of the house again for a late lunch … we’ll see. I have a hankering for some fish tacos from Wahoo’s.

Facts about the Cheese Fries at Outback: each plate has 2,900 calories in it, 182grams of FAT and 240 Carbs. It has been rated as the number one worst food you can order. You shouldn’t even eat HALF of that fat in an entire day.

omg, i saw this movie and it was totally awesome. Lots of bullets, bodies, and boobs. What more could you ask for? Loved the scene where [spoiler?]Chev and the asian guy are fighting and it switches to a cheesy Godzilla ripoff! So funny. HATED Bai Ling though!

You didn’t address the most important aspect of the movie: how many times does Statham’s shirt come off?

samantha, some people like to watch movies that reflect the reality of humanity, some people do watch movies for depth and meaning. Nothing wrong with that, some of us like some movies for fun and thrill( escape) and some of us want to laugh and some of us like to see something we can RELATE too, and than again some of us like to see it all. Rent: Being John Malkovich( it has some unrealistic things in it too but it is truly about the mind and perception) or go rent Sideways, To Kill a Mockingbird,A soldier’s daughter never cries, Munich, the list goes on, there are tons of movies about things that can take place in reality that are great. Alot of people ( including me) love a good action flick but I need to get in touch with my human side too and an action flick doesn’t grab me in that way. I think everyone has different tastes so it can all be accepted and celebrated. I don’t expect Statham to do a dramatic piece b/c he’s an action star, just like I don’t expect Jack Nicholson to make the next super hero movie.
