Sarah Michelle Gellar Is Pregs!
Not content to let Alyson Hannigan give birth to the only Buffyverse baby on the block, Buffy the Vampire Slayer herself Sarah Michelle Gellar had to go and get pregs with a baby of her own. People magazine is reporting the very exciting and joyous news that SMG and her husband of 6 years Freddie Prinze, Jr. are expecting the birth of their first child this Fall:
Sarah Michelle Gellar and Freddie Prinze Jr. are expecting their first child together, a source close to the couple confirms exclusively to PEOPLE. “They’re very excited,” says the source, adding that the actress, 31, is due in the fall. Gellar, who has been married to Prinze, 33, for six years, will next shoot the HBO pilot The Wonderful Maladays, for which she serves as an executive producer. Prinze recently shot the comedy pilot No Heroics for ABC.
While this is absolutely amazing news (which I finally got to hear as soon as I landed in Philly last night on my way to Connecticut — and immediately posted on my Twitter account), I suppose this puts the kibosh on that rumor that SMG had finally decided to do a big screen BtVS movie this year. Ah well … this is much better news. I am absolutely thrilled that SMG and FPJ are expanding their family in this way … I’m sure they are very excited. Tho, it should be noted that while Buffy herself is finally giving birth, it was Alyson Hannigan and Alexis Denisof (both Buffyverse alums) who already birthed the one true Buffyverse baby ;) SMG and FPJ can give birth to the world’s first Scooby Doo baby, tho! In any event, much love and much congrats goes out to the happy couple on their exciting news! Let the bump watch begin!!

AWWW!!!! This is fantastic news!!! I too am disappointed that this squashes any Buffy movie rumours, however, this is better! Too bad that we won’t likely be seeing her walking around town all preggers like we saw with Alyson, who had to have been the cutest pregnant lady I’ve ever ever seen.

OMG…I think I can die happy now. Is that sad? I guess it doesn’t necessarily put the kibosh on a Buffy movie, as the rumor stated something about Buffy becoming a mom herself, but I’m sure Sarah would rather focus all her energy on being preggers and not get into all that physical stuff again. I guess they could really pile on the stunt doubles, but I think I’d rather Sarah have her baby and then maybe think about a Buffy movie. :)

@Jason — Charisma gave birth to her baby before there was a Pink is the new Blog. But the fact that Aly and Alexis had a baby together is very special, as is the pregnancy of SMG herself. That said, I think you’re right in saying that Charisma may have given birth to the first Buffyverse baby.

I know Lambam, Trent…It seems sooooo long ago..but we cannot give up hope for a buffy movie yet!! I am sooo happy for SMG, and she deserves all of the happines she recieves. I wonder which Buffy alum will be next to be pregs???

iF SHE’S PREGNANT it ain’t from Freddie. There’s artificial insemination and surrogate mothers involved somewhere. Freddie couldn’t impregnate anyone. His sperm is so immotile it’s ridiculous. Can any males reading this believe they couldn’t impregnate sarah in less than 6 years? Sarah has taken the ultimate pity on this Freddie. She’s gone to a fertility clinic for sure. They pumped the hell out of Freddie’s limp biscuit and now Sarah’s going to carry his baby. Woo wee. If a man isn’t capable of creating his own offspring without artificial methods he shouldn’t be allowed to have kids. No doubt Sarah loves this sad-sack but it’s a tragedy waiting to happen. That she chose to bring a child into the world to assuage Freddie’s failure as a man is criminal. This is not going to end well. Sooner or later Sarah is going to realize she chose a loser for her life-mate. It’s all over now save for the weeping and divorce settlements.
