@ Jennifer – totally! I just don’t think Anna Paquin is pretty enough for Sookie… that’s just me. I watched end of the episode of season 1 and Bill died? WTF. Oh, and Ally, “Dea to the World” and “Definitely Dead” are my favorites from the series so far.

@Chase I enjoy Anna Paquin as Sookie it is the actor who plays Bill I am not too crazy about. In the books (at least) so far he seems a lot less aggressive and serious than he is in the series. If you ever do decide to watch the series as a whole you were so how incredibly different the series is from the books that’s why I’m glad I am reading the novels.

I too am reading the Sookie Stackhouse books :). I’m on “Dead to the World.” I appreciate anything that is getting people to read, so bravo for the Kindle. I personally prefer reading things in hard copy. There is something about cuddling into bed and flipping pages that makes me happy.

I love my Kindle – what is the difference between the original and the Kindle 2? I also need to have “real” books also – as I am sort of a book whore, I like having several “to reads” both on my Kindle and on my bookshelf. Is there a special reading light for a Kindle? Thanks for any help!

@ Jennifer – I know, right? I’m just glad Sookie doesn’t get on my nerves all the effing time like Bella did in the Twilight series. Charlaine is a better author than Stephenie Meyer but one thing that annoys me with the Sookie novels is that she uses the semi colon mark too much and she goes into mini summaries that annoy me also. How do you like Bill? I totally don’t like Anna Paquin as Sookie and Bill in TB doesn’t really fit my picture of him in my head… I haven’t watched the season but I’ve seen lots of clips.

Ok this Kindle thing I need some info please?? Its a toy right! I can download books on my blackberry and laptop also, so what’s the big benefit in the Kindle? How do you get the books for the devise? Does it have internet? What’s the average cost for the books?? Just wondering I love to read and I am always buying books and have millions of books I end up donating them to various organizations. Maybe this is something I may enjoy owning not real sure!!!

@Chase I am a newbie to the Sookie Stackhouse novels I am just about finished with Dead in Dallas they are such fast and fun reads and much better written then the Twilight series. Can’t wait for the second season of True Blood to start!!!

Hey, those of u that are reading the Sookie Stackhouse books, I read the first one in 4 days! It was great, I loved it and have been back for more. I was a “True Blood” fan from the beginning but once I heard it was a book I had to check it out. I love to read, I’m reading or buying or putting a book name on my list @least once a day.

I hope you have a lot of fun tonight Trent. I saw her Sunday night, and well, just don’t get your hopes up too high. She looks great, but the concert is not going to be the best you’ve ever seen, by a long shot. Keep your expectations in the middle and you’ll have a great time!

I knew we’d convert you to Kindle! I’m a Kindle 1 owner, but a 2 tester and loved them both. I picked my Kindle over an Iphone for an Anniversary gift and have not been sorry. You can bet I’ll be even more grateful for my kindle this weekend while I recover from my surgery! I’ll look up the book suggestion since I totally won’t be doing ANYTHING else :D

@ Jennifer – OMG, you read the Sookie Stackhouse novels, too!? What book are you on? I’m currently on: Definitely Dead. Anyways, I can see your point Trent, but still. The whole idea doesn’t really float with me and I can see how it would be annoying carrying books around, but, when I usually read a book I only read one at a time, not more than one. Then again, that’s just me. The Kindle doesn’t really seem very comfortable to read and I would just rather have a physical copy of a book opposed to an electronic device. If I told someone: “Wow, this book is very good.” and they said: “OH ya? Can I borrow it?” chances are I wouldn’t want someone to borrow my Kindle, especially since the price is so ridiculously high. I usually just buy my books, nor library for me.

Trent, do you have a book light for your kindle? I recently purchased this one http://www.amazon.com/Mighty-B.....038;sr=8-1 it clips to the back of the cover and it works really well. I love to read in bed at night and was disapointed my kindle didnt come with a light but this is a great solution. I was told after I purchased this one on amazon that Target sold it for cheaper. Just a heads up!

I am going to purchase Some Girls Bite for my Kindle tonight sounds right up my alley I am currently reading the sookie stackhouse novels.

I agree Trent. I can’t tell you how annoying it is (as I’m sure most of you know) to read a book within a day or two’s time, and have to take it back to the library only to have to search for a new one. Even checking out books in bulk can be annoying. Keeping up with the due dates, overdue fees, etc. I think the Kindle is awesome, and never heard of it until today. However, I doubt I’ll be splurging $400 on it any time soon. I guess it’s back to the library for me =)

@Chase — yes, but you can put on a good story AND offer the reader intelligent prose. i get the Twilight fascination but there is no reason you have to sacrifice good writing for good storytelling. regarding the kindle, i don’t feel it’s “ruining the whole idea of books” … in fact, i think it helps foster more reading. having entire books, magazines and newspapers all in a single device is a great way to get folks to read more. books will exist for all time, so don’t worry on that account. but sometimes it’s difficult to carry around so many books and, therefore, difficult for readers to utilize their free time when they are away from home. just my, $0.02 — i love my kindle.

I think Kindle’s are absolutely horrible, in my opinion. It totally ruins the whole idea of a book in the first place. That being said, I hope you have fun, Trent. Britney is so amazing and I’m glad you have good seats. From what I heard, she’s switching up some news outfits as well so hopefully she’ll add some different songs and what not. As for the Twilight thing, people don’t read it for its literature but for its story. I realize the writing isn’t the best, but, Stephenie Meyer still puts on a good story nonetheless.
