So, my day yesterday pretty much consisted of laundry and TV … in that order. Because I am a huge procrastinator I tend to group my chores into lumps that get taken care of on particular days. Sunday was all about the dishes and kitchen, yesterday was about the laundry. Today will be about putting things away and packing for this weekend’s trip … but that will come in due course. I managed to get all of my laundry done yesterday which meant that I had a free night to sit in front of the TV. I am very pleased that HBO‘s amazing series In Treatment has returned with their second season.

While the first season eps aired in 30-minute eps 5-days a week, this season all 5 weekly eps air over two days — 2 on Sunday, 3 on Monday. BUT, HBO reairs the Sunday eps before the Monday eps so I can now look forward to 5 eps of In Treatment every Monday evening. Yesterday’s batch of eps were so good. The writing on that show is superb, you must watch. Dianne Wiest is the BEST thing about the series, I live for her eps.
I also enjoyed the new ep of 24 and kinda enjoyed The Hills. I’m sorry, that show has gotten so far from reality that I have a hard time watching it with any seriousness anymore. I mean … it’s basically turned into this:

Kinda funny and wholly ridiculous. That being said, I did Twitter the hell out of last night’s ep … so that was fun but, alas, I’m kinda really over The Hills. I’ll still watch (and will prolly live Twitter) future eps but … meh. If I want to watch scripted TV, I’ll go for the shows that have the best writing (see In Treatment above).
Other than that … ’twas a quiet night. I curled up in bed with my Kindle 2 for some reading to close out the night. I’m trying to make the most of my alonetime this week but I’m missing David. I can’t wait to see him on Thursday.
I might be more social tonight, I have a hankering for some popcorn … HMMMM.

i completely agree about the hills.
but its so ridiculous and fake now that its almost entertaining.
there’s something weird about it that keeps you watching.
it must be the amazing acting. [;
@cherr — “it must be the amazing acting” LMAO!! :)
It is so ridic! Hello, Spencer kicked that dudes ass. That wasn’t too fake. I was like, WOW. He is even more of a tool than I thought before. I bet he thought he was so cool after watching it. I digress. I love me some LC and Brody. They both rock. It was entertaining but as fake as Stephanie’s and Heidi’s lips!
OMG I’m with you guys – the awesome acting…the awesome plastic surgery, awesome weaves…. : )
But totally am with you – something about it keeps me coming back for more… damn it!!!!!!!
Trent, SO glad to hear you watch In Treatment. I thought last nights episodes were especially powerful but I also really enjoyed the young girl April (Sunday night) her story pulled at my heart strings I cannot wait to see where all the new patients stories lead. It is one of the most brilliant shows on television that not many people watch. I didn’t watch the Hills yet went to sleep after In Treatment I couldnt fathom watching the fakeness of the hills after the 3 episodes of In Treatment. I also have a little school girl crush on Paul LOL.
I LOVE my Kindle I have the first generation but I am itching to get the new one!
@Jennifer – In Treatment and The Hills do not belong in the same blog post but, alas, that’s the way it worked out. I don’t blame you at all for choosing In Treatment over The Hills. The Kindle 2 is worth the upgrade if you can afford it AND can gift the Kindle 1 to someone else. I love the upgrades and the design tweaks are THE BEST. I gave my first Kindle to David and he’s happy with it :)
Trent ~ I am so pleased that you have mentioned In Treatment on your blog. It is such an amazing show, albeit a commitment with 5 eps a week. The acting is superb – and I agree that Diane Weiss makes the show. She rocks it!
Trent, her name is Dianne Wiest. i agree that she does well in it although paul is still the most amazing aspect of that show. sometimes i have a very strong reaction to the behavior of some characters. walter has been just amazing so far. who is your favorite patient so far
@anna — ack! spell check doesn’t always help … it’s been fixed :) xo
I am so loving 24 this season , I have almost completely forgotten about the big disappointment known as season 6. I wish I could say the same about Heroes but I gave up on it 5 episodes ago… I don’t regret it one bit.
Aw, Trent, you converted to the Kindle as well? : ( Anyways, I gave up on ‘The Hills’ last season. It is so ridiculous. It isn’t way it used to be anymore… Season 3 is when it started to dwell down from its hype, I think. I’m just over it. I’m glad Lauren is leaving it while it is still semi-popular.
when is the effing Kindle going to come to effing Canada??
Heidi looks like a blowup doll. No wait- that’s not fair. A plastic blowup doll is much more realistic to a human. ;)
When was “The Hills” ever reality?
@Shelly — I contend that The Hills was still pretty semi-real for the first season and a half, then they became aware of their fame and it changed
@Katie: I’m glad someone said it! Hahaha. I love that screencap. It just makes me giggle.
@ Katie you said it!! I’ve seen Real Dolls that look better and less creepy than Heidi.
Trent….I cannot believe you’re commenting on In Treatment and not on United States of Tara…..as far as super great psychologically influenced shows go (ok, there aren’t a TON of them), United States of Tara is the BEST. Check it out if you haven’t. The season just ended but Toni Collette will absolutely win an Emmy for it.
yeah really. that picture of Heidi..HILARIOUS.
Next stop for Speidi: porno! Or, their own line of blow up dolls.
I agree with Emily!! Trent – United States of Tara is one of the best things to happen to TV in a looooooooooooooooooong time! Watch it!! You won’t be sorry! It’s hilarious and tender in all the right spots.
Heidi isnt even recognizable as herself anymore and her brains all gone…. I really cant waste my time on that show anymore. I sure wish LC the best in life. I wish Heidi would disappear.
Is it wrong for me to wish for Heidi’s earthly demise?
