Octomom Nadya Suleman, famous for birthin’ 8 babies at once to add to her already sizable single-parent family that had 6 children already, is featured on the cover of the new issue of Life & Style magazine. In her coverstory interview, Suleman apparently answers all the questions the world is dying (?) to know. Here is the Ocotomom and 7 of her babies (the 8th was still hospitalized by the time this issue went to print) on the cover of L&S mag along with a portion of her “big interview”:

In a two-hour sit-down interview with Life & Style, Nadya opens up about the choices she’s made, the father of her children and reveals the truth behind all the rumors. Nadya Suleman’s home in La Habra, Calif., should be a scene of chaos, yet when Life & Style arrived on April 4, things were quiet and serene. Nadya seemed less concerned with her appearance than spending time with her kids. “This is who I am,” Nadya says. “There are so many lies out there, and they’re all just so different from the person I really am.” Here, in her first extensive print interview, Nadya finally sets the record straight for Life & Style.
L&S: You’ve never talked about the birth itself. What did it feel like to give birth to eight babies?
Nadya: It was extraordinarily painful. With that many babies, it feels like your insides are being torn apart. The babies were ripping apart my organs. Afterward, people thought I went into hiding. I wasn’t in hiding — I was in pain. I could hardly move.
L&S: Did you ever dream of having a family the traditional way?
Nadya: No. I was married at one point, but it didn’t work out. I decided to go on my reproductive journey alone. But people think I just woke up one day and decided to start a family. I’ve been trying to have kids since I was 19 years old! I’m 33 now. I’d just been saving my money. I was a psychiatric technician — almost every day I was working 16-hour days. For years, I worked non-stop until I saved for the first four in vitros.
L&S: How did you approach the babies’ father to donate the sperm?
Nadya: Years ago, I said, “Hypothetically speaking, would you ever help a friend have children?” He said he would. And I said, “Then help me.” And he did. I kept going back to him, and year after year, he kept helping me. He was upset when I did it again. He said the same thing everyone else did: “You have six beautiful children — why do you want more?”
L&S: Baby No. 8, Jonah, is still at Kaiser Permanente Hospital waiting to be released. What’s wrong?
Nadya: He has a little cleft on his lip. But it’s not a big deal. It’s cosmetic. Eventually, they can close it. Jonah won’t be coming home until he gains a little weight. He’s only 4 pounds but he’s growing bigger and stronger every day.
L&S: Are you going to do a reality show?
Nadya: Absolutely not! I have no interest in being famous. I’d love to vanish from the public eye as soon as I can.
I suppose if there ever was a way for a person to get rich and famous from having babies, this is the way to do it. I have a hard time believing that Suleman will not eventually do a TV show of some kind. It’s still pretty crazy how quickly the story of these octuplets went from being a happy surprise to, what amounts to, a major marketing phenomenon. It’s only been a little over 2 months since these babies were born — and since the birth of the Octomom — and she’s already become a pretty big part of the public nomenclature. I have to admit, I’m really curious to read this 8-page interview in full. I know it’s totally wrong but everyone loves a freakshow. Who knows what’s next for Nadya Suleman but if there is money to be made, I’m convinced she’ll figure out a way to make it happen. OY!

@Adrienne, seriously? Stop reading the blog. Nadia is a freak show, end of story. Her babies have nothing to do with it. I was forming my response to your rude, inappropriate post in my head but Trent defended himself before I got to jump in. You are so ignorant.
I can’t believe this woman is saying she wants to get out of the public eye…then why is she on the cover of a magazine? Why does she continue to have babies that she knows she can’t afford/take care of properly? This woman needs help. I fear for those poor babies every single time I hear about them. I’m surprised they weren’t taken into foster care the second they were released from the hospital. Maybe that’s what should have happened.
She looks like Mrs. Potato Head.
If she doesn’t want to be in the public eye, why is she granting these interviews? Hypocrite.
How can a person manage to compare a woman on welfare purposely having 8 kids and putting them in harms way for 10,000$ makeup, to your struggle as a gay person? Its amazing how people can find a way to make everything about themselves xD
Um…what happened to her face?
As long as she’s not counting on government assistance to pay for anything, I don’t care what she does. But if we’re getting stuck with the medical bills while she’s rollin in $$ from her little schemes, I’ll be pretty pissed.
You can bet I won’t watch her show or support any sponsors of her ventures.
Something is not right. First thing is the house is quiet and serene huh?? Come on with 6 older children and 7 babies yet no noise. What is she giving them, that house should of been full of laughter and babies crying. I hope someone will do no notice drop bys to see if she is doing okay with the kids. “Sounds” like she is giving them something to make them ALL TIRED one would think that with a house full of kids lets remind you again 6 older children and 7 babies yet the house was quiet and serene nope something is wrong and I hope it is check out soon.
Trent, I love your blog, but I really wish people would stop featuring her. Please, let’s all just ignore her and let her sink into obscurity. I feel like with all this coverage we are just encouraging some other crazy person to do this and that’s insanely unfair to all of the children (not to mention all of us as tax payers).

Another magazine I will not buy…..
SHE’S SO SCARY!!!!
why am I the first to scream it??
gawd, lookit that face. if that’s not the face of a desperate self-conscious needy hypocrite, I don’t know what is.
I actually heard somewhere(radio maybe? I don’t remember) that she was going to do a reality show. However instead of being about the family like that John&Kate+8 one it’s going to be about her search for love and how hard it is to get into the dating scene with 14 kids. “Octo-Bachelorette” anyone?
Disgusting!
She continues to discuss me! 14 kids?! One is autistic, two others have speech delays… and that is not counting the newborn octuplets!!! How is she going to afford special education services?!
obviously she was on the magazine to settle everything straight, not to be famous, i don’t get why everyone’s so pissed off at her like people settle down, it’s her decision to have a big family, and she didn’t expect she would have 8- she thought she’d at most have one kidd…
“I’d love to vanish from the public eye as soon as I can.”….hahah! yeah, thats why you are doing so many interviews, right! ok, i see…
for all the people who are complaining about the financial aspect of her depending on state and federal handouts i would think that you would support any sort of reality show that gave her some income and allowed her to look after her kids and get professional help.
who cares if she did or didn ‘t have plastic surgery. how many americans do and they are not criticised to this level?
why would anyone want to take the kids from her? do you honestly think she is going to sign adoption papers? no the worst thing would be for them to go into foster care. you can be sure that both her and her father would fight to get them back. did you see oprah? he loves his grandkids and wants to be with them. the family would fight to get them back and the kids would be back and forth until they are 18. what sort of life is that? and if they do go into foster care the state has to pay for it anyway! what a stupid arrangement. nadya doesn’t have any substance abuse problems. the kids are well cared for. there have been no complaints from teachers or neighbours. the one neighbour who did complain to cps was found to be unfounded. so she is actually a good mother. even her mother, who criticised her said she was a good mother. give her a break!
