Madonna Has Got New Male Friend

Who's that guy?
April 8th, 2009

Earlier this week, Madonna was spotted out on the town in London with her BFF Stella McCartney but last night she spent some time with a mysterious new fella who looks *nothing* like the sort of guy that Madge would be in to:

To be honest, he looks more like her lawyer than her new romantic interest … I understand that the pair dined together at Assaggi restaurant in Notting Hill and that he followed her home afterward. It must be business. It must.

In other Madonna news, according to the mayor of Pacentro her Madgesty has pledged to donate $500,000 to the victims of the deadly Italian earthquake that has, thus far, taken the lives of 272 people:

The mayor of an Italian town shaken by Monday’s earthquake says Madonna has promised $500,000 to help people in need. Fernando Caparso, the mayor of Pacentro, the mountainside village where two of the pop star’s grandparents were born, told The Associated Press on Wednesday that that he had spoken to the pop star’s manager. He said he was deeply moved by Madonna’s effort to assist the town as well as surrounding areas. Pacentro, 100 kilometers (60 miles) from hard-hit L’Aquila, felt Monday’s earthquake but didn’t suffer major damage. Caparso said most of the donation would go to areas harder hit. Liz Rosenberg, the pop singer’s spokeswoman, said Madonna had pledged a “substantial amount,” but didn’t disclose the exact figure.

What an amazingly generous gesture. I’m sure some folks out there will find some way to turn this amazing donation into a negative but I, for one, am happy to celebrate it. It is so easy to discount the painful loss and misery that can follow a tragedy like this when it happens half a world away. I think it’s commendable for someone in Madonna’s position to pledge any aid to the suffering victims. Well done, Madonna.

    I LOVE Madonna and all the good that she does with her power and her money. However, this guy is not my opinion of sexy AT ALL. She can get a wayyyy prettier man than that! :)

  5. razzle dazzle Says:

  7. Traci Says:

    Heheh, Negative Nancy here. ;)
    I’m glad she donated, and half a mil would seem like a huge gesture from most celebrities, but we all know how loaded she is, so it kinda seems like a somewhat paltry amount.

  8. Michelle Says:

    He looks like Bob Saget with curlier hair!

  9. Aaron Says:

    @Traci—How much did you donate?

  10. KP Love Says:

    @ Michelle- omg, I was about to say the same thing!

  11. Traci Says:

    @Aaron:
    For this? None. Believe it or not, I’m not a multi-millionaire many times over. I’ve donated to other things, certainly, but not this particular disaster. There’s also other ways of helping than opening your pocketbook.
    It also JUST happened, so isn’t it a bit presumptuous to assume that I wouldn’t when I get paid?

  12. canuckistani Says:

    Nah, he’s not a love interest for Madonna, not greasy enough.

    I think it is amazing that Madonna continues to use her position to call attention to and donate money to such important causes. What an amazing lady and a true icon is so many ways. As for the guy: I think he is good looking. Let’s face it, it’s time for Madonna to branch out on her “type” because the bad boys aren’t working for her. He looks a little like Arthur Miller, Marilyn Monroe’s third husband. Right? I think so.

  14. PixieBassline Says:

    Madonna: she’s made more of an impact than most of us could or ever will. I WUV her.
