When I was in high school which was before they started the Day of Silence we had something similiar around this time of year for Students Against Drunk Driving (before Destructive Decisions) students would sign up to “die” at various points of the day in which you would have your face painted white and you would have to be silent for the remainder of the day as a reminder that when you drink and drive or when you drive recklessly this is what can happen. It was very powerful to hear a group of classmates names being called over the loudspeaker at regular intervals and also shocking when you would here your name even though you knew it was coming. It reminds me a lot of the Day of Silence and I hope that a lot of teens and schools were involved in such a powerful thing today!
OMG. I never knew Wendy and Lisa (from Prince’s band) are Lesbians, and were a COUPLE! Now I have to go back and watch Purple Rain. Me = TOTALLY CLUELESS.

Oprah using Twitter feels like a ‘jumping the shark’ moment to me. But as I love to ‘tweet’, I hope I’m wrong about this feeling because it’s a great service that shouldn’t be ruined by celebrity trends.
It is possible to stop following aplusk and john mayer… one just needs to come to ones senses and hit the button.
I really couldn’t keep up with them and hated having to read pages and pages of tweets, plus they don’t ever really tweet about anything important 99% of the time.
