Lazy Does It
Yesterday was another chill day for David and me around these here parts. While he was bizzy working on an exciting new project, I was bizzying myself with doing a whole lotta nothing. I’ve let my reading pile get way to big so I’m really trying to devote as much time as I can to reading so that I can finally get thru some great books that I’ve been dying to read. I’m in the midst of reading Some Girls Bite by Chloe Neill and I am enjoying it immensely:

Next on my plate is Pride and Prejudice and Zombies by Jane Austen and Seth Grahame-Smith. Since David and I are flying out to Chicago this weekend, I’m hoping to get in as much reading as I can while I can.
This afternoon, tho, I think we’re gonna try to get out and see the new Disney film Earth. We are big fans of the Planet Earth DVDs so we’re hoping this new film will be just as entertaining. Yeah, not much exciting news to report … but life is good :)

I have a great story recommendation for you. I know you read the Twilight series, so you have to read the fanfic “Wide Awake.” You may have already heard about it. It’s really, really good. I dare say almost better than Twilight? It’s very deep. Here’s the link, if you have time to check it out:

I read Some Girls Bite because you wrote about it! I liked it! Just thought I’d say so. I also have to respectfully disagree with a previous commenter about Wide Awake, but to each her own.

Trent, just an FYI. I screened Earth two weeks ago (I live in Orlando). SO DISAPPOINTING. Nothing new, in fact the exact SAME scenes, with the exact SAME narration by James Earl Jones instead of Sigourney Weaver. If I had paid I would have been pissed. There isn’t ANY new footage. In fact, even the ‘outtakes’ at the film’s end were the same ones played on Planet Earth. I can’t believe Disney got away with this- and it seems very shady to me.
Also, the whole “Follow three animal families” BS? They highlight the Polar Bears, Elephants and Whales for maybe 15 minutes total.
Save your money and tune into Discovery in HD- better picture and it’s FREE at home. Even my nine-year-old daughter called Disney out for this film. To be honest, I’m still a bit shocked.

Surely you’ll be able to get your hands on a copy of P&P&Z at some bookstore. I had pre-ordered mine from Amazon, canceled it when it was going to take longer than expected, then realized that it was sold out all over.
I found a copy at Hastings and am currently reading away.

I just finished P&P&Z! It was the only way I could stomach Jane Austin.

Oh man… I finished Pride and Prejudice and Zombies last week… it is so freaking funny. There are only a couple of parts where you really question why they went there… but other than that it was fantastic!

Haha omg! I have to read that Pride and Prejudice and Zombies book!!! I was going to write “Pride and Prejudice is SUCH an amazing book” but then I saw your repsonse to n1cole haha :) I don’t know if you realize this, but your recommendations for books and cds are hugely influential. So many people I know, including myself, discover new favourite authors and musicians based solely on your opinions.

@Meagan — I’m just glad that some of y’all share my tastes … and please, if you have recommendations send them along to me :)

Pride and Prejudice is a must read. Absolutely amazing classic!

@Kristen – Thank you sooooo much for posting that link!!! I stayed up all night reading Wide Awake (lol)… it’s honestly my new favorite fanfic! Whoever wrote that could seriously change the character’s names and publish the story as a novel. I would definitely buy it!
