‘Jurassic Park’ed On The Couch

The TV Guide
April 18th, 2009

So … after we had grand plans to get out last night in order to take in dinner and movie, I ended up on the couch catching up on this week’s eps of In Treatment and watching Jurassic Park on HBO while David slept the night away. He crashed out at around 5 and was dunzo for the rest of the night. I can’t say that I was really mad at him cuz I kinda did the same thing to him a few nights ago. Domestic bliss, ladies and gentlemen. But, since Jurassic Park is one of my fave films, I was pretty well entertained:

You gotta admit that the film really holds up even to this day … the special effects are so epic in that film that it still looks believable today. So, yeah … that was my night.

Today is too gorgeous to waste tho … when I finish writing for the day, David and I are heading out to enjoy the weather and hopefully see a movie. The sun is shining, all of the windows are open and it’s a glorious day here in SoCal :)

yep, domesticity at its finest! sometimes you all just have to do your thing and yet at least you are both together. ;-)

  2. Stephanie Says:

The boy I nanny LOVES that movie. He goes through phases but there are weeks where I see that movie 5 times a week. The music still gives me the chills!

  3. Jamie Says:

I totes agree! I loved JP as a kid and when I watch it today, it is still one of my faves, if not my ultimate fave! No other dino adventure movie comes close!

  4. Taylor Says:

It’s a coincidence you watched JP because I watched it last Friday too and thought the same thing about the special effects!! Now I’m gonna sit back, relax, and check out one of the sequels. It doesn’t matter which one cuz I love the whole series!

I live in Eastern PA where we are fortunate enough to have not one but 2 drive-ins and Jurassic Park was the first movie I ever saw in a drive-in. It was a double feature along with Fire In The Sky (does anyone even remember that movie?) AWESOME!!! My favorite scene then and even to this day is still when the guy gets eaten alive while in the porta-potty!! It’s a classic in it’s own right!

Good news – while on the Universal Studio tour, our tour guide told us that a new Jurassic was in the making!!

  7. Missy Says:

Jade, when did you hear that? Cause I heard that they were going to do it, but then Crichton died and they started having second thoughts.

  8. Sarah Says:

Jurassic Park is my favorite movie ever! I get the chills from the music too, and I’ve watched it about 100 times, no kidding.

  9. Chase Says:

LMFAO @ Stephanie and Sarah. : ) Yeah, it’s s funny how Jurassic Park looks totally believable while the special effects back then weren’t that great and the second and third ones looked pretty much fake and horrible.

  10. Luz Says:

OOOOH yea!! JP 4va…I own the movies on VHS & still watch it when it comes on tv, how sad is that? lol My husband hates when it comes on because I’ve seen it so many times I start saying the lines before it comes on. To Michelle: so like Fire In The Sky, it still gives me the hebe-gebe’s anytime I watch it. Another fave is Dreamcatcher.

Missy – I went on the tour about a month ago and was told then!
