Johnny Depp Shows Off A New Tattoo
"Silence Exile Cunning"
Johnny Depp, who recently lent his voice to an episode of Spongebob Squarepants, is currently working on the new film The Rum Diary which is currently in production in Old San Juan, Puerto Rico. During one of his breaks, Johnny was spied with a new tattoo on his forearm which looks like it reads Silence Exile Cunning …

… or something like that. It’s unclear to me if the tattoo is real or just a fake one for the film. Also, the last word is not very clear … it’s hard to make out. Any ideas what this new tattoo could mean?
UPDATE: Pink readers Shai, Jamie and Yoka have clarified that the quote is by James Joyce and it reads, Silence Exile Cunning. Thanks guys!!

It is a real tat that was first spotted at the MTV awards a while back. It is from A Portrait of the Artist as a Young Man by James Joyce and holds special signifigance for Johnny. He is currently working on filming The Rum Diary in Puerto Rico and for a few days, he did walk around the set with fake blood on his face.
