Johnny Depp Guest Stars On ‘Spongebob Squarepants’
Johnny Depp, who is drawn to look a helluva lot like Matthew McConaughey, will be guest starring on tomorrow night’s ep of Spongebob Squarepants and today we get our first look at his animated appearance. The episode is titled Spongebob vs. The Big One and here are a few screencaps from a short preview of the ep:

Earlier this month we learned that Victoria Beckham herself would be lending her voice for an upcoming guest appearance on Spongebob but it looks like Johnny Depp has beaten her to the punch. While we do not know when Vicki B’s ep will air we know that Depp’s ep will air tomorrow night (check your local listings). For those of you who just can’t wait, tho, I have a short video preview of the ep to share. After the jump, check out a 6-minute preview clip from Spongebob vs. The Big One featuring guest star Johnny Depp …
LMAO! This is great … and totally unexpected. I know that Johnny Depp has a great sense of humor but I never pictured him as a Spongebob fan. Even tho I can’t help but see McConaughey in this clip, I think it’s awesome that Johnny was such a good sport. Having seen this makes me really yearn to see Vicki B. on the show.

Actually, Johnny Depp has mentioned a few times over the years that he’s a HUGE Spongebob fan, and his son has been pictured with various Spongebob toys and clothes over the years, so I think it’s safe to say that little Jack is a big fan too. I saw a commercial for this on Nick a week or so ago, glad to see this clip though. I’m not a Spongebob fan, so probably won’t tune in, huge Depp fan though, and glad to see at least a little bit of what he did for it. I also like how it’s so similar to his regular voice, as opposed to how most of his stuff he uses accents for.

Actually, your source of information is incorrect. Johnny Depp has stated that he did NOT do the voice for Spongebob, and that Nickelodeon is false advertising this show. Depp has said he has never recorded his voice for Nickelodeon.
So just an idea, look deeper into your sources.

@stefani — clearly, Johnny Depp’s name is listed in the credits of the ep, something I doubt Nickelodeon would do if he did not offer his voice. what is your source?
