First Look: Green Day, ‘Know Your Enemy’
Earlier this week we got to see a few new promo images of Green Day which were released in support of their new album 21st Century Breakdown (due in stores on May 15) but today we get to see something a bit more substantial … the new music video for their new single Know Your Enemy. The punk pop pranksters have returned … behold:
I gotta say, I’m kinda likin’ this new song. It deffo has a more rock feel to it but retains that Green Day sound that has made them superstars. I’m happy to hear that lead singer Billy Joe Armstrong still sings like a British guy trying to sound like an American guy. You’ll also note that BJ is still tweaking his vocals to make it sound like he’s singing thru a megaphone in some parts. I guess if it ain’t broke, why fix it? The song is catchy and it’s got a good hook … I suspect it’ll do well on the radio. Now I’m anxious to hear more … but so far, I like it. What do y’all think?

It’s definitely Green Day..Even without BJ’s vocals, they have a totally distinctive sound..It’s a’ight..

I love how simple it is no frills no thrills* except for the fire at the end* just them rocking out, they really know their fan I mean I don’t really know who many punk fans would love a flashy over the top vid from them right now with the way the economy is and I love that they’re still making those face lol.

It’s catchy but kind of hard to sing along to. It’s one of those songs you mumble to haha
Awh man every time it comes on the radio it will get stuck in my head

Don’t get me wrong, i love green day, but the song is a little repetitive. They use the same riff throughout. Pretty catchy however.

Billie Joe is the male version of Joan Jett. Looks like her and plays like her.

Definitely am not digging it. I miss old green day. Pre American Idiot Green Day. I was a HUGE fan, I was so hyped up for American Idiot but then it got SO much publicity once it was out and I kind of lost it. :(

I don’t really like it. But I don’t hate it. It’s mediocre, in my eyes. To me, it sounds like American Idiot and Shenanigans got together and had a child, and out came this song. I’ve only heard this song twice, and it’s already getting on my nerves. I hope the album has some more substance to it than the single.

I can’t wait their album coming out! There was though too much repeating, that made it catchy. Maybe other songs are more like… well, something more =)
