Brad Pitt Films A New Commercial In NYC
Brad Pitt was spotted hard at work on the NYC set of a new cell phone company commercial that he is currently filming for SoftBank in Japan. SoftBank, you may ask? Yes, Brad is the spokesperson for the SoftBank mobile phone company in Japan and has previously appeared in ads for the company … ads which are never shown here in the US. For this latest commercial, Brad has been teamed up with a large sumo-wrestler-lookin’ dude for a comedic new ad … here are a few pics:
Big name celebs often appear in foreign commercials like this that never get shown here in the US but end up making them a lot of money from companies abroad. Celebs who you’d think would never want to appear in a cell phone ad (like for T-Mobile or Alltel) have no qualms about doing so for a company in, say, Japan because those ads would never air here on US television (and the celebs make a lot of money from those companies). But, thanks to the wonders of the Internets, we are still able to watch these ads online. After the jump, check out an ad that Brad Pitt did for the SoftBank company last year — the ad involves Brad using his mobile phone to snap pics of topless chicks …
LMAO! This shizz is hilarious … it’s a shame that celebs like Brad don’t like having these sorts of commercials air here in the US. I find these foreign ads much more entertaining than the ads that we usually get here in the US (tho, I find unauthorized commercials like the one that featured David Beckham combating male impotency in China WAY MORE entertaining than these authorized ones). I’m hoping that we’ll be able to see the finished product when production on this new commercial is complete. I kinda wanna see what Brad and his sumo wrestler are up to in this new ad.

I live in a small country town in Australia and a few years ago Leo DiCaprio was here filming an ad for a German beer company. They took only a couple of hours and by the time people realised who he was, he was gone. lol Wished I’d known…I would have liked to check him out.

I live in Japan (and have a softbank phone) and his ads are all over the place in the subways…..it’s what get me through those crowded train rides ;)
