Amy Winehouse, who is reportedly in the market to adopt a child from the Caribbean paradise island of St. Lucia, was spotted enjoying a walk on the beach all by her lonesome this weekend. You will note from these new photos that Amy was smoking one of those famous “hand-rolled” cigs all the while. HMMM. Do you suppose that this kind of behavior might ensure that no court in their right mind would give Amy Winehouse a child?
Amy Winehouse is planning to adopt a St Lucian child after telling friends that she wants to make the Caribbean island her permanent home. The 25-year-old singer now apparently sees herself as the ‘Angelina Jolie of St Lucia’ and wants to help poor and underprivileged children. “Amy is seriously thinking about adopting,” says my source. “But she is aware it’s going to be incredibly difficult with her background.” The news comes just a few weeks after it was revealed that her estranged husband Blake Fielder-Civil had made a woman pregnant at a Sheffield rehabilitation clinic. Adds the source: “Amy’s gutted about Blake becoming a dad and moving on so quickly. She has always wanted to be a mother. She loves St Lucia and would move there for good in order to adopt.” Her spokesman said: “Amy was talking about adopting in the context of looking after children on the island, perhaps through some kind of music and education-based project.”
Um, no. While Amy can smoke whatever she likes, I find it HIGHLY unlikely that she will be allowed to care for children in any context. She really needs to focus on taking care of herself before she can even being to think about taking care of someone else.

She shouldn’t be able to adopt. Sometimes in life we need to deal with the mistakes of our past. I think even if she cleaned herself up they shouldn’t allow her to adopt because of her past.
I TOTALLY agree that she definitely needs to work on herself awhile longer before she makes herself responsible for the welfare of a child.

@Tatiana – I know a TON of people who smoke weed but are also super healthy and productive members of society..It’s way more of a common thing than you would think..

She looks good in these photos. I don’t see why she can’t adopt a child. We think it’s cute when dopes like Nicole Richie and Joel Madden and Ashlee Simpson and her boy toy of the moment propagate- so why not Amy?

I don’t think Miss Amy needs a kid right now she needs to get her life together say maybe keep it that way for a few years than consider becoming a Mommy she only 25 yrs old she has plenty of time!!
